Snooker referees: This is NOT a push stroke or a double contact. How to tell the difference.

  • Chris Wakelin could have benefitted from a double contact or a push stroke here (fouls). Instead he plays it with normal top-spin and finishes hampered on the blue. If he had hit the white twice with the second contact being a push (cue hitting white when white contacts object ball) then the white could have finished closer to the baulk colours because of the extra power.
There's a very simple formula that referees can use to verify a double contact. Quite simply, if the distance the cue travels through the white is greater than the distance between the two balls then it has to be a double contact (because the white will always slow down a bit when it meets the object ball, thus allowing the cue to catch up for the second contact). But this is not the case here.

How is it that you have a channel featuring a multitude of snooker videos, yet you know absolutely nothing about the game !?

That is truly a bizarre statement, I must say.. "a multitude of snooker videos".. Not just any old snooker videos my friend.. They are mostly double contact videos (unfouled).. That is my speciality..
The referees and general public alike seem totally unaware of them but to me, each one stands out like an unique work of dynamic art. The touch, the feel and the skill involved is truly a joy to behold. If I do not reveal these gems to you then "all these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain." 😁🫳🎤

I don't want to insult their intelligence. They can use RUclips freeze-frame and slow mo themselves. It's quite easy.
