After recently talking everyone that watches would like like to see a segment on afr meters and different ways to use them. Thank you so much, I learn something every time.
Yeah great show you tell it the way it is I know somebody out there is going to say different but everybody needs to be listening to this you have a great day
I took the jets out of carb on a gmc van because it would idle ok but it would fall on its face if you hit the trotle. I think it had a vac leak cut it ran ok with no jets. Weird.
I'm taking a shot in the dark here. My experience with a cam with that LSA and that duration you really need a much higher initial timing. This means a big distributor recurve. I run my 108 cams between 18 to 24 depending on compression pressure. This might fix your issue. In any case, your initial must be higher. Low timing and small LSA make the carb lean at idle and force you to set the idle speed screw open along way. This complicates the lean issue because it gets the throttle past the idle circuit and makes your idle mixture screws no longer usable.
Thnx John once I move to my place I'll mess with it. The carb already set with a 50cc pump orange cam more duration than white cam. I still need cam kit & some nossels u don't thing the fuel restricted metering block could not send more fuel. Dizzy a pro billet msd hei. Vac adv hook up. Bushing gray springs light so 14-28
Sooner then later I hope. Mmmmmm pudding sounds good to. First race of the season for straight axle mafia is this weekend at bowling Green Kentucky. Lots of new stuff going on with tuning needed, I can't wait. But no barracuda work sooooo
Wait some one doesn't understand that there are two different circuits in the carb! What part of circuit don't they understand! Lol 😆 I would not let such people even look at a wire if they think this way. Get it circuit!
Please like and Subscribe to the channel! Good weekend to you all.
Man I love your Video's. Great information. Very good explaining and demonstration too. I never knew it would run without main jets. Great Channel 👍
I like the old school way of explaining of how a carburetor works and how easy it is to fix the problem.
Cheap vacuum gauge and read the plugs u go to go.
I've learned something again without knowing I was in school. I like how you explain things, John.

Great lesson ! The Roadrunner is so badass...
The more I watch the better I enjoy your videos.
I dig your Style guys!
Thanks Big Mike
Good video sir, can never argue with proof.
Idle air bleeds also play a factor in the idle circuit as well as the idle feed restricting hole size that you showed. Great video!
Does it need more fuel
Wow I didn't know that you are from California. Learning new things daily.
Great video.
Thanks Tommy
Yeah great show you tell it the way it is I know somebody out there is going to say different but everybody needs to be listening to this you have a great day
You are absolutely correct!
NICE...
This is a Great Video for people that want to learn about Carbs.
What's up with the Long Ram's on the wall??? 😮😮😮
Those are for a future project I hope but for now its a lesson for chevy lovers that come to visit
@@talljohnsfunshop2722 I'm super interested in that project!!
You should do a video on the Long ram manifolds.
New to the channel , cool videos brotha!
Thanks for the sub .I check yours out and subbed as well. Love the project Frankenstein
@@talljohnsfunshop2722 Thank you so much brotha I really appreciate that!

Brian i think ya nailed it with the vacuum leak.
Killer! 🤘
Good instruction video for the young people that were not raised with Carbs
I hope so, the future is in jeopardy if the young don't learn. Thanks
What’s happening John 🤘
Exactly what you have proven.
Good morning and enjoy your day today.
I got a 650 pumper don't wasn't to idle cam lsa 108 duration 232/244 if to high it runs on two low stalls
Hi Angel quick question ...what is your initial timing?
I set it at 10 btdc work from there

Compression 10:1 compression check few yrs back was 180-190 psi piston to head clearence 0.045 flat top, vortec heads 1/2 lift cam
The proof is in the pudding! Can’t wait until we do some down home Mopar tuning on a racecar!

Imagine that.
Life is good I will say.
