As a Christian and a westerner, the Bhagavad Gita is a very interesting book to read. The relationship between Arjuna and Krishna is like no other. I’ve also read the Upanishads as well. 🙏🕉️
When I was completely pissed off , totally disappointed from what’s going on my life , Krishna came to my in form of Gita and saved me . I’m a happier person now ...
I had the same thing happen to me but there was multiple gods. Christ and Buddha were the main two but I think perhaps these entities, Krishna included, may be manifestations of the ALL or the Godhead or The Great Spirit.
I grew up Jewish and I’m currently going through yoga teaching training and we have been reading the Bhagavad Gita! ✨What a beautiful experience! I wept of joy when I read it. It’s a beautiful gift from Krishna 🙏

This is the energy I'm leaning toward ❤❤ I can't say the God in the book is my God. At the same time, I believe any good teachings are worth listening to. I don't want to limit my mind and my relationship with my creator to one book or way of being. Since life is not just black and white. It's grey at times and full of color. So rather than approaching a book , I first attended a 3-4 day bhagwat gita basic course recommend by a close friend of mine in ISKCON Temple which covered everything. It was given by HG Rupa Bilasa Das prabhuji , you can type in youtube you will get it also that will help you at first. He is an amazing speaker and he was the one who got me into Bhagwat Gita so you can check his lectures out Currently I'm attending his youtube live lectures which he is giving at the moment due to lockdown. So his channel name is 'Gitopadesh' and he gives it everyday at 12 30pm for bhagavat gita.So you can check it out and be blessed . For that sake,you can check out any other bhagwat gita lectures given by preachers of ISKCON for that matter just like Gaur gopal das prabhuji of whose I'm a huge fan of. Hopefully this helps you out sir , Gita is just totally a different thing you will experience and I hope it helps you advance in your personal journey Hare Krishna 🙏😇

A monk, yesterday at my university, gave me a copy the "Bhagavad Gita" and I am excited to read it. I skimmed through the table to contents, and small descriptions of the chapters, and it honestly looks really good! Two my spiritual mentors, and favorite thinkers, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and David Henry Thoreau, stand by this book, as a great source of power and beauty.
Is this version “Bhagavad Gita As it Is?” If do, be careful when you read this. If you find the commentary disagreeable, just know there are other versions (which I consider to be “way better”) with very different commentaries 🙏

Caste was made just to label the different classes of people, it was later that brahmins took benefit out of it and declared lower caste as untouchables. Leave this, the most important thing that Hinduism teaches is that if some rule is applied today and after some years it seems that we we don't need it, then we should discard it. Our religion isn't rigid, it is progressive as society progresses. Don't even try to give me an example that bro but "this thing happens now also". That happens because people are ignorant. Have you noticed this guy who is monk, follows krishna and bhagwat gita but never ever mentions about about any slokas in gita, talks about krsna , mahabharata or Santana dharma. A isckon devotee is supposed to disseminate teachings of bhagwat gita or krsna, not indulge in hotch potch motivational lectures which completely deviates from teachings of krsna and bhagwat gita. He uses this tilak monk clothes to gain followings but in fact he is rather ashamed or hidden agenda. I have no problems with his style of motivation discourses...there are many out there... but he betters change his attire if he is really not going to teach about krsna and his philosophy. He is imposter. He is supposed establish dharma, liberation mukti karma yoga etc...not in some western shallow motivation "start your day with positivity shit". Krsna talks about knowing soul which is ultimate reality / mulkti / getting out of this worldly illusion not " how to wake up at 5am " or " how to talk to someone ".

Krishna is such a large part of my via the teachings of the Gita, I'd be so much weaker and confused without it. I love the way he dives into his favourite parts, very inspiring and reaffirming
I am so impressed with both the individuals in one frame.. one is a guru who is a true follower of divinity, whilst the other is a young man who has asked the right questions and even provided with some insight into spirituality. Please choose the book carefully. Because there are many translations of "Bhagvad Gita" out there which are not accurate. Also please don't buy isckon's edition of Gita (Bhagvad Gita as it is), in that book the commentator has written a highly biased commentary. I would like to say, just read the original verses without reading any commentary by the scholars.
I feel that every word spoken by Gaur Gopal Das is golden and meaningful. This video needs to be seen more than one time to get most out of it. Thanks to him and the podcaster for presenting such a beautiful video. Expecting more such podcasts.

I love how Gor Gopal Das describes the Gita as something that van give us power and confidence to face any dilemma. That no matter what we're facing, we are more powerful than the dilemma/situation at hand. I simply adore the Bhagavad-Gita as difficult as it can be to fully understand, and each time I re-read it or listen to it/an interpretation, there is *always* something new to be learned. It truly is Bhagwan's song of wisdom, guiding us to live our best life and taking responsibility for our karma. I'm currently facing a very painful and difficult dilemma where on the one hand is my boyfriend of a different caste group, and the other is my parents not accepting our relationship. It's been very emotionally and mentally draining trying to persuade my parents, to help them see the good I see and also understand that their upbringing in India in their time is very different to my and siblings upbringing here in the 21st century in London. I hold all my religious and moral core values, everything they have taught me and that I've discovered myself through my own experiences, research going through life. Now 31 years of age, still struggling to figure out what the right thing to do here is. To fight for this relationship, or to go our separate ways. Due to everything that's been said, I too have doubts now and feel very confused as to which path to take. I worry what if my parents are right and we cannot make it work, but then also worry what if I regret letting this go. He is someone that understands me well, like a best friend, we have the same future goals and get on really well. He's very sweet and thoughtful and simply wishes to have that family life with me, counting our blessings along the way. And yet I am still lost... ...I can't bear to see my mum in pain as she struggles to accept this. I worry our relationship may never be the same again. Caste was made just to label the different classes of people, it was later that brahmins took benefit out of it and declared lower caste as untouchables. Have you noticed this guy who is monk, follows krishna and bhagwat gita but never ever mentions about about any slokas in gita, talks about krsna , mahabharata or Santana dharma. A isckon devotee is supposed to disseminate teachings of bhagwat gita or krsna, not indulge in hotch potch motivational lectures which completely deviates from teachings of krsna and bhagwat gita. He uses this tilak monk clothes to gain followings but in fact he is rather ashamed or hidden agenda. I have no problems with his style of motivation discourses...there are many out there... but he betters change his attire if he is really not going to teach about krsna and his philosophy. He is imposter. He is supposed establish dharma, liberation mukti karma yoga etc...not in some western shallow motivation "start your day with positivity shit". Krsna talks about knowing soul which is ultimate reality / mulkti / getting out of this worldly illusion not " how to wake up at 5am " or " how to talk to someone ".

Please choose the book carefully. Because there are many translations of "Bhagvad Gita" out there which are not accurate.
Also please don't buy isckon's edition of Gita (Bhagvad Gita as it is), in that book the commentator has written a highly biased commentary.
I would like to say, just read the original verses without reading any commentary by the scholars.

I love how Gor Gopal Das describes the Gita as something that van give us power and confidence to face any dilemma. That no matter what we're facing, we are more powerful than the dilemma/situation at hand. I simply adore the Bhagavad-Gita as difficult as it can be to fully understand, and each time I re-read it or listen to it/an interpretation, there is *always* something new to be learned. It truly is Bhagwan's song of wisdom, guiding us to live our best life and taking responsibility for our karma.
I'm currently facing a very painful and difficult dilemma where on the one hand is my boyfriend of a different caste group, and the other is my parents not accepting our relationship. It's been very emotionally and mentally draining trying to persuade my parents, to help them see the good I see and also understand that their upbringing in India in their time is very different to my and siblings upbringing here in the 21st century in London. I hold all my religious and moral core values, everything they have taught me and that I've discovered myself through my own experiences, research going through life. Now 31 years of age, still struggling to figure out what the right thing to do here is. To fight for this relationship, or to go our separate ways. Due to everything that's been said, I too have doubts now and feel very confused as to which path to take. I worry what if my parents are right and we cannot make it work, but then also worry what if I regret letting this go. He is someone that understands me well, like a best friend, we have the same future goals and get on really well. He's very sweet and thoughtful and simply wishes to have that family life with me, counting our blessings along the way. And yet I am still lost...
...I can't bear to see my mum in pain as she struggles to accept this. I worry our relationship may never be the same again. I honestly don't know and pray to Krishna Bhagwan to guide us through this 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼.
