Barry had one of the greatest falsetto singing voices ever recorded, and this is WAY BEFORE auto tune!
About 20 years before it
Absolutely!!!
Cher " Do you believe in love " first time used it. Other group had their own niche
Dam straight.
Barry&brothers are absolutely irreplaceable when it comes to their harmonies.❤👍❤
This is the 70's y'all. No enhancements, no autotune. Singers were natural back then . No shortcuts. The BeeGees were very respected and they had tons of hits. This was 46 years ago and they would squash anyone you pit against them today, but the thing is everyone was talented back then. Everyone who listens to the music we took for granted in the 60's, 70's and 80's is still amazing to This day.
Makes this old man feel young again. The best music ever
When you lived through this era you feel you can walk with your shoulders back and a strut in your stride ,knowing you lived through the golden age of music, just magnificent memories
Stylistics does sing like The BeeGees too! Real music.
THAT WAS ALL BARRY! He was the greatest falsetto artists of all time. His brothers, Robin and Maurice (twins) had the familial voices so their harmonies were unmatched! You are experiencing one of the greatest groups of all time. That was a LIVE PERFORMANCE! No auto-tune, no technical manipulation - just PURE INSANE TALENT. That's how we rolled in the 70's, baby! Dig into that era and you will never hear music the same way again!
Barry is exceptional. But the best falsetto voice is Philip Bailey of EWF in my opinion.
robbin and maurice are non identical twins../
Fraternal twins.
That was in no way all Barry. All three brothers made that song
and...to think that was sung all in one take. All proceeds to Unicef. Over 10 million raised & climbing. Our 60's & 70's music will never be matched!
Real brothers, real voices, no cheating! Harmony so pure!
This is when you had to be PERFECT.
No computers, auto tune.... just TALENT.
Real!!! talent! No lip sync either real! These trio played music and sang they're whole life google young Gibb brothers and watch there progress through the years you will see how God gave this talent to them at a very young age, people like these fall into another category of talent like Ella Fitzgerald Louie Armstrong ray Charles Stevie wonder Michael Jackson Al green Marvin gaye talent given from God as a gift to us,we will never see there like again so enjoy ♥️♥️♥️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Exactly. They grew up having to actually learn to sing or play an instrument. Now everything is done for you.
Spot on comment!!
Remember when talent was required to make music?
@@aletaledford5354 and don't forget Elvis "The King" Presley
No auto tune, none of that. That’s all them. And, in case you didn’t know, Bee Gees one of the most successful groups OF ALL TIME!
It is.
@@aerocap indeed
The Bee Gees used to do many A Cappella performances during interviews to prove that they needed no studio enhancements for their voices. They just had pure God-given talent! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad that a lot of young people are now discovering a lot of these legends. Music back in the days was just 💎💎💎💎
Totally best era of music
Amen brother that music stands the test of time❤
They donated this song to UNICEF, to help kids everywhere. It's made millions for the babies.
yup
Yes .... and made millions of babies 😅
It made millions for babies yes.
But it also made millions of babies ‼️
This is baby making song if you"do it" right too‼️🤣
It is STILL making millions for UNICEF as they donated royalties permanently.
This was back in the day when music was music. No autotune
Back when music was real music... and not a glorified sound effect off of a computer
Check out Saturday Night Fever album. Barry is your favorite brother. The twins are Maurice & Robin
You do realize when they remaster these they use autotune? Perfect example is Freddie Mercury he would never think they used auto tune with his music but they did when is music was re-released
@@bigtuna9529 that's just fucking sad
The pure perfect song just autotuned..
@@bigtuna9529 this was the original video and sound. No autotune period.
The reason you are having a hard time believing it's his voice is partly due to nobody before or since has belted out a falsetto the way he did. Legends
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and performed perfectly. Love the Gibbs 👍
Yes, this is Barry Gibb singing! The Bee Gees were perfection!!!!! Growing up in the 70s was great! We had great music!!!!!!
60's-70's and 80's had some great music with no auto-tune.
The BEST
This is talent. Youth have no idea before money making with auto tune and flash. Go back to things before so called technology. Get a life
Same here. Grew up in the 70s and 80s. Great music during that time. None of this fake Autotune crap they use today. Actual talent!!!
barry was the greatest, he sung this song packing a tight moose knuckle, bless him
The music of our generation was so great because these guys could actually sing. No auto tune, no gimmicks.
The 70’s just sounded like this. What a time to be alive.
The best!
Pure talent... not autotune... pure talent. You guys are learning to recognize the real talent... and that is good.
You may not fully realize it because of Barry's incredible voice, but you've just experienced a masterclass in harmonization.
There is a reason the Bee Gees are one of the most successful groups of all time. They wrote their own songs and their songs became #1's one after another. They ruled the Disco era, and when people got tired of Disco, they wrote #1 hits for other artists.
Besides the fact they have been together since birth!! They are brothers...the only still alive is Barry. They have been a singing group since Barry was 16. He is the oldest.
they also worte a lot of songs for other artist
They were Way More than just Disco...
I grew up listening to these guys; I'm now 60 and it warms my heart to see how much you two are genuinely enjoying this music
I do remember
Not that chic on there!
They’re all in their head voices pulling a harmony that tight. Barry is lead falsetto, but Maurice is singing falsetto too, and Robin vibrato. Ridiculously good.
There was a reason the Bee Gees were the soundtrack of the 1970's. Pure talent.
That's when music was real & had SOUL to it! NO AUTO TUNE
They were the first true harmonizing group that killed every award there was...And they STILL STAYIN ALIVE!!!! lol....Damn....I feel soooo old when these young reactors watching old school music and groups...LOVE YOU ALL FOR TAKING TIME TO REACT ON REAL MUSIC AND REAL LEGENDS..
Only Barry is still alive
This song is about as close to perfect as a song can get. Part of the soundtrack of my childhood. Glad you discovered some greatness.
They had perfect harmony and could sound like this live.Back in the day you really had to sing. There we’re no computers to digitally record and edit your voice.Everything was recorded on tape back then. The BeeGees we’re the truth.
They had hits for decades, and wrote a ton of them for others too.
"How Deep Is Your Love", "Nights On Broadway", "Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever", "Words", "I Started A Joke", +++++
Barry shared lead with his brother Robin, btw. The brothers were a 1-2-3 punch that STILL get fans.
"More than a woman"
Yes - gotta admit that I've always been in love with Robin! (I know, Barry, the "driver" and songwriter and big brother)... but the twins were also amazing - and Robin - to me - had the most unique sound -- I heard someone else say that their Dad said "Robin sang like a nanny-goat" - which is so awesome and kind of true... lol
That's them through and through. And no autotune
but don't doubt Mo!
@@GinMae I have also heard comparisons to Tiny Tim.
This is the 70s... The 80s struggled to invent technology to simulate what these three brothers could do with just their voices.
One of the best musical groups of the 20th century. Great voices, great songwriters, and they've given away great songs. A time when singers had to know how to sing.
Wasn't Auto Tune back then. He was blessed with a voice from heaven!!
Too much heaven?
@@scipioafricanus5871 yes.
That is his real voice, there are very few musical acts as smooth and absolutely naturally talented as the Bee Gees. Barry is the only one left alive, the world lost so much when his brothers died, to this day I will binge their music and it never fails to make me smile and happy. Robin is on the left and also has a great falsetto, Barry in the middle, and Maurice on the right. Robin and Maurice are fraternal twins, Barry is the older brother.
Your statement "the world lost so much when his brothers died" is indeed a signature statement.
Yes but not his natural voice. He's using what's called falsetto. His natural speaking voice is deeper.
@@B1Kobe0824 natural means without mechanical or software adjusted, falsetto is still is "natural" voice, it is just that he is able to push his voice into higher octaves, Barry Gibb can do the same thing very well
@@Jarhd-sl7kf ,, And Rob sings those notes right with Barry. Sometimes it sounds like a voice over, but it is Rob.
The Bee Gees were pure talent. Love watching the young generations react to what I grew up to. They truly are missing out
No auto tune, 100% perfect live or recorded genius writers.... they were simply amazing and the best of their time.
Yes, they are very real, but mindblowing! The harmonies are incredible! The insane thing is they were always this great live, no tricks, no manipulation. They say Disco Died, but the BeeGees are eternally in my ♥️♥️✌
Disco was murdered.
And I believe the harmonies were incredible because they were brothers, so their voices were very much a like, but Barry's voice was a just bit stronger than the other two.
The Bee Gees were never disco. They took some inspirations of the genre when they were in America, but they always saw themselves as an R&B group. The disco label was slapped on them after the fact because their songs were so popular so they were an easy target for the anti-disco movement. The proof of that is the diversity of songs they wrote and produced over the decades of their career. They were simply very versatile and took some of the genre when it was a thing. In fact, even those who hate disco in general may like their disco years work because it was and is still so unique.
@@LAM1895 I was referring to them blowing up disco records, Saturday Night Fever= disco. I forgot I was dealing with all the opinions of the experts here on RUclips😂🙄 lighten up!!✌
@@debbiedebster5806 I’m not picking on you or anything, just stating what I learned over the years, being a fan of them for a long time. They are often associated to disco by ignorance while they themselves didn’t particularly want to be associated with it. If you know then it’s good, just trying to be informative to you and those who may read these comments.
You just experienced The Bee Gees in all their glory! Damn right they are real! Musicians, lyrics, music all written by The Bee Gees! No one will ever even match their genius! Barry, lead singer, is the only one alive, Maurice, Robyn and a younger brother Andy that was not part of The Bee Gees died too! They were the best! Originally born on The Isle of Mann, they lived in England and Australia before going back to England and they they ended up in Florida! We miss them so!
Trust me that’s their voices no autotune nothing just pure talent
Everyone who was alive in the 70s loved the Bee Gees whether they admit it or not. If you were talking about an auntie or grandma playing music that sounded like this, it was them. All aunties and grandmas love the Bee Gees.
They so good that you really can't hate them
No matter of a person won't admit It,they secretly LOVE the bee gees and their amazing voices
Seriously I never heard of a person who "hates" the bee gees
I am yet to see someone who thinks the wrong way like that
They dominated the music world in 70'80 so much they tried to get their music banned from radio.😂
It is him. He has been singing with his brothers since he was 9 and his twin brothers were 6. Since the late 50s. Welcome to the wonderful rabbit hole of the BeeGees! Five decades of amazing songs. Btw. They write every song they sing! My all time favorite group. ❣️💕💓💗
NO COMPUTERS... NO SYNTHESIZERS...NO LIP-SYNCING...
REAL MUSICIANS IN THE STUDIO!!!! PURE TALENT AND PURE LIVE VOICE!!!!

That three part harmony and falsetto is unmatched and soooooo beautiful!!!
Unmatched !!!!
the 1970's were a time of great music and bad haircuts
All proceeds from this song were given to charity

@suzannescriber6073 They still are - to UNICEF. I think someone said over $10 million to date.
They was the real deal.no auto tune, nothing but straight talent.they sounded just like that live.
There was nothing better then being in the arms of someone you love listening to this.
Pure natural talent. So much diverse talent back in the day. We were so spoiled with GREAT music and talent and variety of sounds every day. It was heaven to our ears and senses, constantly.....on the radio and vinyl LPs. EVERYONE had a stereo and turntable in their homes....albums were always playing. We rarely watched TV.
I am 62 years old and I grew up with this music during the 70's. The Bee Gee's were the one of the TOP GROUPS during the Disco age. They became Millionaires with their music. The one thing that any band or singing group back then NEVER anticipated was how the future generations would react to their music in todays World. Those groups are teaching our younger generation through their music. With music it is a screen capture of that time period. It encapsulates everything about that time and still resonates the feeling from that time. Our younger generation is getting a lesson in history through music right here. I am glad to see their positive reactions. Listen and Learn. That is how the older generation grew up!
Me too 62!
@@josephklimchock5412 I'm 70 and I played this record so much my brother yelled at me to "turn that shit off!"
He's a trump lover now.😣

Too bad you dont like the BG's that's ok, as everyone like different things in music, calling it shit is a bit off, but hey,. when it was happening, I was not a fan either, since the whole disco age and deja's killed off live bands at that at that time as my band in HS had hard time getting work, now looking back and listening to them, their music and writing is superb. Bet you like some songs from other singers that you do not even know where written by the bee'gees???

Have a great day.
they sang together since they were young that’s why they sound so good
They really do sound like this, back in the 1980’s they came to Detroit, I went to the concert and was blown away! I’ve been a fan since 1977!
Bee Gees are legendary. Their catalog is so extensive too.
They are the brothers Gibb,
Barry-lead vocals
Maurice & Robin harmomy. They have been singing together since they were little kids. They have countless musical awards and their music has been used in commercials and movies. Barry is the only one still living. If y'all want to really hear some more Bee Gees, do yourself a favor and watch the 1978 movie "Saturday Night Fever" with John Travolta. Its set in a disco in New York City during the height of disco and most of the movie soundtrack is the Bee Gees!! The Bee Gees have MANY more songs you should check out too🎶🎵🎶🎵
They became known as the Brother Gibbs through a misunderstanding of the fans. They were originally the BG's which were the initials of Bill Gates and Bill Goode (they are the ones who noticed their talent) and Barry Gibb (Lead singer). Bill Gates notice the three had the same initials and that's how the BG's came to be. Thought you might like to know.
actually they were 4. Brother Andy died in the 80`s
@@juanitadiemer64 This is true, but he never was a part of the Bee Gee's. He pursued a solo career.
@@snowflakehunter I never said so !!!!!
@@juanitadiemer64 The first person never said that there were only 3 brothers either. They were clearly referring to the Bee Gees. Hence the "Brothers Gibb" comment. Stop being so offended.
They didn’t have auto tune back then! Goosebumps every time!
No auto tune back in the day. No one today can match this💕
This is actually the standard reaction when young people nowadays hear Bee Gees for the first time on this song. They really did not look the way they sounded.
Love that you guys loved it. ♥
No autotune - pure talent.
No one can compare to The Bee Gee. They were such a blessing in the music industry and to all of us.
Actual musical talent never fails to impress.
Welcome to the rabbit hole of the Bee Gees! Best group ever...the Brothers Gibb!
Now that you have heard the BeeGees, your musical world will NEVER be the same. They are the musical drug that you will not ever be able to get enough of. How do I know? I first heard them at three years old...these harmonies touched me so deeply that I became a musician. Trumpeter, pianist, French hornist, baritone, vocalist, composer, lyricist, piano teacher...I am now 52 years old and still cannot get enough of the BeeGees!!
The bee gees along with lots lots of other 70 s 80 s....use to gave theire entire SOUL on each presentation and every song they recorded .....was an era of pure professional talents plus fantastic arraingmets, great musicians, composers everything first class....with no auto tune or samplers of other songs.....pure original inspiration....uffff!
Barry Gibb is one of the best vocalist ever and his brother Robin also has a unique voice.
Robin's voice is amazing... and very different. Listen to I Started A Joke.... all Robin. Maurice, the other twin was the harmonizing genius and could put together 4 levels of harmonies.
Robin did an amazing cover of The Beatles, Oh Darlin, for the Sgt. Pepper's movie soundtrack. So good!
The Brothers Gibb. You canNOT go wrong diving into the Bee-Gee's catalog of music. They are legendary. The kings of disco for the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack, which was one of the biggest albums of the 70s. Plus, they wrote and produced many songs for other artists, notably "Islands in the Stream" for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, and Barbra Streisand's "Guilty" album on which Barry had a duet with her on the title track and all three brothers provided back-up vocals. Their younger brother, Andy Gibb, was like a "mini me" of Barry. Andy had that beautiful falsetto, too, and hits of his own that he and his brothers wrote together. The staples are: Stayin' Alive, Jive Talkin', You Should Be Dancing, Tragedy, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever, Emotions, and Nights on Broadway. For Andy, listen to Shadow Dancing and I Just Want to Be Your Everything. CHEERS.
@Pisces228...YES!! They were/are(only Barry is left of course, but still watching them currently, 'are' works too lol)But they are legendary, their catalog is extensive and their song writing is classic, for themselves and other artists! Superb!
Also, I absolutely love THEIR reactions! It makes me smile out loud🙂 to see the younger generation discovering and listening AND loving them! Perfect💘
Oh yeah, and Andy Gibb too! And artist in his own right, not quite the catalog as his bros, but great just as well!💞
I'm almost 77 years old, and grew up with this music. Get the Bee Gees "One Night Only" DVD and watch/listen to real brilliance.
This is real natural singing before auto tune. This is what your generation is missing. This is real! Real harmony. Real instruments. Real lyrics. Don’t be afraid to show your emotions this is what they do. The two on the side are twins. They passed. Sorry I’m getting emotional. The one in the middle the eldest name is Barry. The Queen GOD rest her soul Knighted Barry for his voice. Check out HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE
Barry Gibb had a great tenor voice, but when he slid up into his falsetto range (effortlessly), he was the GOAT! Sibling groups always deliver the purest harmonies (because they've sung together for a lifetime) and the Brothers Gibb were no exception.
BTW - The Bee gees are the 4th best selling artists of all time after the Beatles...Elvis and Michael Jackson.
Barry is also the second most successful songwriter in the history of music behind McCartney. Barry wrote songs in more genres!
You missed one, Garth just became #1 on this list
Barry the one in middle had the high falsetto voice. True it was truly outstanding. However, Robin, the man on the left has the most unique ethereal voice you've ever heard in your life. His voice will move you to tears. Maurice on the right (pronounced Morris) has a beautiful voice as well and all three can sing falsetto. This is a very deep rabbit hole
They are absolutely one of the greatest singers ever. They are natural singers. No auto tune, no nothing, just pure talent. They will always be forever loved and missed.
1miilion babies were conceived with the Bee Gees singing in the background. Facts
Barry's actual voice is a beautiful booming Baritone Check out "to Love Somebody". All three of these guys have great Falsettos but Barry's is Legendary.
If I remember right one of his producers thought he would go further with a falsetto sound. Don't remember the whole story, but yes this was not his original voice.

Three of the greatest song writer ever! People need to listen to the BEE GEES everyday, I do. They make so relaxed and bring back a lot of great memories from my kidhood. They are so awesome.
Dude you picked up on something that even most “vocal experts “ don’t and that is that they can sync their vibratos to each other or the rhythm of the song which gives them that”one voice” sound. Good job!
My husband says it's because they are siblings. Only family can so that.

Their REAL voices and perfect three-part harmonies. They had some phenomenal songs.
I'm a 70 yr old white guy who grew up with these guys when they broke out in the early 70's. They're legends folks. These guys had a sound that took them to the top for decades. Love seeing how much you enjoy them. Outside your genre. But quality all the way. Thanks!

When you thought Barry hit his highest note … then he brought it !!!! Amazing !
Clarity, melody, precision, great songs and charts... all natural. Yep, that's why the 1970's were such a special time to be in your teens and twenties. Especially in Australia with our special blend of artists, bands, orchestras, range of styles, live venues. It makes this 70 yo heart glad to know you appreciate. I recall the Bee Gees on Australian TV in the 1960's.
This was one of your best reactions that I've seen from you two. I'm old school born back in the 70s. So watching you two enjoy the smoothness of the Bee Gees was fun to say the least. I've been watching you two for a few weeks and this was pure excitement in your eyes. Please ask you Nana about the Bee Gees she will school you.

All 3 wrote many of them together, not just Barry.
These are true artists, pure talent. RIP Robin and Maurice..

@@sk1dzzz608 Being brothers & performing together from 1955-2003 couldn't have hurt, but still...it's a massive number, with an incredible number of hits, for themselves & others. Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers "Islands in the Stream" (written by Barry, Robin & Maurice) was #1 on 3 charts (Hot 100, Adult Contemporary & Country) & certified Platinum. Barbra Streisand's Guilty album, all 9 songs written by Barry (some with Robin &/or Maurice &/or Albhy Galuten), was a #1 album, 4x Platinum & 5x Grammy nominated. If all they'd done was write 1031 songs, it'd be impressive, but add they also recorded, toured, played multiple instruments each, produced, etc., "Insane" describes their talent perfectly.
Each one of these guys had glorious voices in their own right but when you put them together they were magical.
Those are their real voices and the ranges they have and the harmonizing are amazing. No auto tone here. Three brothers who have been singing together since they were children and began composing music while teenagers with no formal music training, other than their dad taught them to play the drums, and not being able to read music. Moved back to England from Australia in 60s and began performing and recording there. Everything they sing, they compose - music and lyrics - as well as for other artists like Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, etc. Each can play multiple instruments, mostly self-taught. Three different vocal ranges and sounds but together they harmonize like no one else. This may be the best love song ever. Listen to the words and let the music carry you away. The twins, Maurice died in 2003 and Robin in 2012, but Barry, the oldest, is still around producing music and mentoring new artists and producing established artists. Their music has been around for 64 years. Maurice scored a movie "A Breed Apart" in 1984 for Kathleen Turner and Robin composed a symphony in the early 2000s "Titanic Requiem" though he didn't live to see it recorded and performed, but one of his sons did that for him. Even their children (Maurice's daughter is a singer, both of Robin's sons are musicians and composers, and Barry's sons are musicians) are musicians and perform and tour with Barry who still performs some. Talent definitely passed down in that family.
Pure God given talent. Angelic, no gimmicks here.
There will never be another group like them, True superstars and very down to earth people.
The Gibb boys without question the most talented set of brothers to ever record
15 #1 hits and one was at number 1 for 6 months.... arguably one of, if not the best, harmonic group ever..... Whats going on is you experiencing pure talent... Their records speak for themselves.
Barry's voice has brought happiness to so many people over half a century. Thar is still one of my all-time favorite songs.
I love seeing people react to this amazing group for the first time! I was just a teenager when they were so popular. The music is still awesome today ❤️❤️
Their amazing music will never die
Just like my love for their music and angelic voices
Watched a YT documentary the other day. I realised that it was the soundtrack of my life since 1966
This is the magic of having families who are talented! The harmonies are so pure. They were my favorite group when I was a kid in the 70s! They told the story of when they were kids and they were singing in their bedroom. They said their mother heard them singing and thought her boys were listening to the radio!! R. I. P. Robin and Maurice (they are twins btw) and Barry, you’re still amazing. I’ve always loved you guys! One of my favorites that they wrote for someone else is Immortality performed by Celine Dion!
See how good music actually was? Their real voices with real instruments. I was spoiled in the 70's, 80's and 90's. This song made it to #1 but the end of the year ranking was only #11, that's how good we had it. Glad you enjoyed it.
That is Barry's voice and his bros have high voices too. These brothers Gibb started singing as young teens in Australia and have mastered high falsetto and harmonies better than most. I began listening to their albums back in1967 and they have a huge catalogue of music since. I saw them live outdoors in 1988 at the Riverfest in St. Paul ,Minnesota. I stood right at stage front at fencing and they were amazing and had great ballads "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart ",and the place was jumping when they did the disco songs.(Jive Talkin'). Barry would pose for my camera when he saw me looking through the long lens. Cool people, they were. R.I.P. Robin & Maurice.
That’s his voice, he ( Barry) has a huge range, he has a deep chest voice and then this falsetto! Check out out Nights on Broadway to hear his deeper voice or some of their 60’s stuff. This from the late ‘70’s. They ( the brothers) are know for their tight harmonies. Just think, no such thing as auto tune back then, you had to have actual talent. 😎
