One of the best-looking TV series ever made. It really lends itself to these visually-magnificent books and cards. Oxfam want 35 quid for the 2nd Pan paperback! P.S. I love the photo of you with Ed Bishop.
I'm glad now I bought the Network blu-rays to sit alongside my original Carlton DVD sets. I recall that when the supplementary book was announced as having "600" pages I thought this was an error in the advertised page count, but then I saw the big chunky box. 😀 Network at their finest.
Loved this video guys. Brought back a lot of memories. Watching it through it was like, "Remember that, Remember THAT. Got that, got THAT. It reminded me that I'm kind of glad they didn't actually make the planned UFO series set 20 years into the future, that became "Space 1999". I've always felt, were there a second series, it should STILL have been set in the 80s. As the original format STILL had a lot of mileage. Still plenty of story possibilities without changing anything.
Hi Jules love these Gerry Anderson related videos Am actually going to revisit UFO tv series on ITV player There showing all the great Anderson's shows Excellent as always Jules
Absolutely a favourite video of mine. Huge fan of the show and I was fortunate to be involved in a number of Chris Bentley’s books that you cover. Such a great show and wonderful to see you both give it coverage. Brilliant.
Chris has often delved into my collection for his projects and I m thrilled to see them presented so well. Thank you both for the shout out. It was unexpected. Can’t wait for the MIKE HAZARD video. Big fan too. Have three of them to display all the superb ‘60s Spy gadgetry that came with him. Thank you both as always for your brilliant films.
Out of this world! Great to finally see inside a couple of those books that I haven't got. I've got several of these... and the Alan Shubrook brochure! I'd love if if someone (Fanderson or Anderson Ents.) would publish English language editions of the German novel and the alternative Italian novelisation.
I REALY Enjoyed the UFO cards edition and this latest update is excellent, but if you ever fancy doing a further update on UFO 70's, merchandise especially i have alot of rare promo UFO items ,Japanese,EUROPEAN merch you may not have a seen before! toys, model ,kits activity books ,posters etc...
@@JulesBurtI'm not ..but images of the items & video clips can also be forwarded,as you've already added in images to aid your "review of" UFO merchandise, of items, you don't have.,have you not ?
Very Interesting to watch - the Italian hardback was released twice in 1975? Identical in every way, except the writer on one is credited as Paolo Proserpio but on the other as Robert Mc Donald?
@@JulesBurt theres always a mix up? there was a German Space 1999 book published (Unbekannte Invasoren by John Rankine), it had the Space 1999 title inside but on the outside of the cover it has Moonbase Alpha 1 in small text but UFO as the main title! I suppose that they thought that Space 1999 was either the second series (of UFO)? or the sequel? (maybe like the 'Revenge Of The Jedi' pre-release posters?)
In today's money, John Burke would have got almost £16,000 for writing the two books! Not bad at all. I wonder if they sold enough for him to get any royalties? Hopefully the two I got helped!
@@JulesBurt I don't mean it as a way to protect the book. There's a lovely Easter egg for fans of the UFO series. I was so happy to see it. Get Andy to do so and take photos of both sides.
Well, it is supposed to be a comprehensive look at all UFO books but I take your point. Why are his books still being sold on Amazon then? Surely a rights holder could complain?
@jazwiseman Maybe you should complain to Amazon then? I see he has made loads of books on old TV series. Perhaps after fifty years, itv aren't too fussed, after all, they're not Disney.

Thanks Frank! Yes, it was a great pleasure meeting Ed all those years ago, a really decent chap🙂

You said it. Such a shame they are no longer releasing new sets. That book is incredible 🙂

Absolutely! A truly great series. Glad it finished when it did though.
Gabrielle Drake (born 30 March 1944) so has just turned 80 now & Wanda Ventham turns 89 in August of this year :-)
Wow, amazing to think they are that age now. incredible actresses in this series Dave🙂
@@JulesBurt And as you likely know Wanda's son is the actor 'Sherlock' & 'Dr Strange' actor Benedict Cumberbatch

My favorite show of all time and now I know how much memorabilia I DON'T have! Thanks Jules. Lol
Thanks Art! Andy's collection is incredible, I'm very jealous 🙂

Thanks very much Martin, we're both big fans too. Congrats on helping out with the Chris Bentley books, they are superb🙂

A great idea, I'm sure it could be done. A job for Sanderson I think🙂
Those books needed more coverage of the chicks with the purple hair
No arguments there🙂

You really should have removed the dust jacket from the last Chris Bentley book.
Time was of the essence when we were filming and no harm was done.

Did you get any other Robert Miall contracts?
Yes, an odd USA penguin books one and the one for A Hard Days Night.
The Scott Palmer book is unofficial and uses unlicensed screen grabs - I wouldn't have included this book in your round up.

@@JulesBurt Because he prints them through Amazon's print on demand facility. As for ITV chasing him, sadly they don't seem to care.
