How To Fix Nintendo Switch Not Detecting the micro-SD Card (with English subtitle)
What’s up, guys? I trust you are well.
Allscan Twelve is back again for another DIY job and for today’s video, I’m going to fix the issue with one of our Nintendo Switch where the SD card reader seems to be not working or I should say not working at all.
If you’re following my RUclips channel, back in January this year, I dissected this Nintendo Switch when I tried to replace the broken screen, only to find out in the end that the only thing I need to replace was the screen protector and opening up the Nintendo Switch was not necessary at all.
Anyway, I learned something there. So going back to the issue. I definitely made a mistake reassembling it back to the point that I forgot to attach properly the connection of the SD card reader to the mainboard. This is the only main reason I can think of why the SD card reader is not working.
What I’m showing you now is one of our Nintendo Switches where, as you can see, there is no information provided about the micro-SD card, and that’s because I haven’t inserted one yet.
I shut down this Nintendo Switch before inserting the Micro SD. I’ll be using a 1 TB micro-SD card to see if the micro-SD card reader can detect it.
Turn On the Nintendo Switch, then go to the System Settings then scroll down to the Data Management. As you can see, the micro-SD card section is telling us that the micro-SD card I inserted was undetected.
What I’m going to do next is to remove the back cover and will try to press the connection between the micros-SD card reader to the mainboard. If it is loose, you should be able to hear a click sound which means you manage to connect them properly. Give it a test and if it fails, the last option will be to remove the micro-SD card reader and reconnect it again.
