That's a really nice way of wording a total devastation 😂
I love it, I'll adopt that for my deep and bitter hatred of modern motorsport.
So in the big picture I'm instead lucky, for seeing and hearing proper motorsport on TV growing up.
BTCC, NASCAR and F1 are all great examples, looking from the 90s to now.
      Dead.

@@Comical-Intellectit really depends on the way you look at it. I obviously have a huge appreciation for past Motorsport, and I have watched every single one of the hundreds of races of f1 archive from 1970 to now. But being only 16 I like modern Motorsport more because nothing beats the magic of watching it live, and I’m sure I would have a different look at it if I was around to see the amazing things that happened in classic Motorsport like the senna-Prost rivalry, the Schumacher domination and downfall due to Renault, the McRae dynasty with Subaru and the coming and going of titans in INDYCAR like Mario Andretti, Foyt, and Unser. Even though F1 has kinda gone to shit with their horrible rules and treatment of issues (look at how they treated max in Austria and Austin this year, or how they didn’t do shit about the debris on the track in Abu Dhabi for examples of that) I still love it. Even though the v6s sound worse than my 1995 corrola that I bought a few months ago for $1000 I still love f1 and all other Motorsports despite their (not as severe as f1s, but still existant) downfall from the past. Same way people say SNL hasn’t been funny since whatever year, but it’s always just when they were a kid, because everything seems better when you were younger.

@ThisIsTheYear4Ferrari That was a good read thanks, with the general look and sound you are right, I own and love my 79 pontiac trans am (in UK) and its a heavy old rotten piece of rust lol.
But there are clear as day reasons for my hatred besides that, in the change of physics, regulations, funding, aerodynamics......
You have to be a rich daddy's boy now.
Rallycross and rally capped the power
F1 may aswell be slot cars now
Gt3, imsa, Dtm..... all look the same using same models.
Nascar last lap lead changes are history
Touring cars used to use saloon cars resembling thier Road versions....
I struggle to see any improvements other than speed and grip, which if you think about it, is exactly what's killing the actual motorsport.
Its bye bye to bumper to bumper 3 wide action, loss of traction with overpowered vehicles, it becomes like slot car racing.
      Thanks

Neil, there's definitely no more of Speedstar. It only happened once and I have already uploaded that. As for rallycross, this is a rallies channel - but occasionally I may upload little bits of rallycross if someone supplies it for conversion. I think I have the 1987 Rallycross GP knocking around somewhere - may get that bashed into shape in the coming days, although like most of the rallycross, it's already here on RUclips anyway.

Fantastic display venue for these WRC legends. Thank you! They've certainly made a porridge of it. I'm 40 now living in the US and have always been only able to appreciate these cars through mid90's and up video games. Wish I could have watched coverage of the brief group B era in real time. I was fascinated by WRC cars sine the first time I saw it on cable TV.

What gorgeous!, what agile and manageable was Peugeot 205 with asphalt tires on "mickey mouse" stages, even today I never tire of seeing it.
Ford RS 200 progressed well, it's a pity not to have been able to show something more, very beautiful as well.
From Lancia Delta S4 I always will prefer for its original sound, so personal, with volumex compressor, it reminded me much American army Jeep Willis.
I will always remember these images that I saw so many and many times on VHS tape back in that years 86, 87, 88...
For me the disappearance of Group B was a great loss for the rally show, even though they were dangerous cars, I think they could have continued competing with a reduction in power and safer bodies, no kevlar, with more forceful roll bars, and a higher minimum weight (above 1,200 kgs.) and deformable and fireproof fuel tanks (which there were) placed in safer places.

I loved these daily reports, couldn't wait to see them come on the TV... before the days of digital, when you had to WAIT for the broadcast, and no rewind unless you stuck a VHS in. 1985 and 86 I managed to get to some of the events on leave, including this one in Harrogate. Should have worn a bright orange coat :)
The second year I hired a video camera, which were huge back in the day, put on my dad's Berghaus coat (£200!) and then blagged security that I was press from Yorkshire TV. LMAO I got into some great spots unchallenged with my mate pretending to be the rigger. If anyone approached us I would shout 'Battery pack!" or " get me the long range lens man! "
Oh how we laughed in the pub that night.

the decisions that killed rallying as a mass spectator sport, many still turn up to watch it but not in the numbers of the 1980s, it was as big as the football world cup, people who had never been interested in motorsports knew the names of the drivers and the cars, 205 sales went ballistic because of the rally cars success,
