I like the openness and honesty of the guy. He is also quite helpful - i started playing low point of gravity in doubles and the speed indeed improved. Also when your gravity is low, it's much easier to take the smash on..
The reason why your backhand clear is not at it's optimum level is if you notice you are waiting a millisecond too long for the shuttle to arrive and your return is a little close to your head - hit it early on and a smidgen higher, notice the impact point height. You will find you will get more of a lob rather than a flat drive clear. Hope this helps.
Well there is a big improvement but all in all I noticed that your Lunge to the front court corners are often a little bit short. So you could go easily 20 to 30 cm futher
Nice vid ;D Watching you kinda motivates me to improve. I think i have to record my progress as well, its so interesting to see the progress after some months
Great video Jeffrey! :) Can't wait to do court training again with my buddies! Working on making my body stronger atm! Maybe we even train together in the future xD
@@BadmintonwithJeffrey I've recorded alot of my progress, my footwork is not as good as yours, it's just getting into the habbit of having the correct posture and having a lower centre of gravity.
Yeah! Thanks for the feedback, I do tend to walk back to the center. It probably makes me late for the next shot if I actually don’t have that much time
Hmmm I would say so. A strong core keeps everything together, and responsive. It’s even more crucial when doing around the head shots in the backhand corner, where your body is suuuper outstretched

I don`t really think we should follow pro players` habits. pro and normal people r two different species. listen to ur coach's suggestions and keep practicing.
@@markhuang7006 bro you are right to some extent but by following pro we can learn a lot of things like there advance strokes , deception and mental strategies and many other things. There are various mental games in a advanced match like players used to break the opponents flow by waisting time by asking for water shuttle change and by asking to mope the floor
@@markhuang7006 I'd say it's fine to learn the basics and foundations of the pros. But we don't necessarily have to learn the really intense stuff like diving or their super aggressive style of play. Some habits like backhand clearing or jump smashing from the baseline also shouldn't be learned. But for basics like footwork, and having a low center of gravity, or basic form, I think it's fine to learn from the pros :) Happy to discuss!
That's really good advice :) I agree, playing more doubles would help me play at that faster pace. There won't be as much movement though, so I'd still need to do other drills like the box drill
I wish I have drilling partner like yours, all my badminton friends either lack the commitment/time or live too far. I am forced to hire coach and empty my wallet😢😢
Hey! I really like your videos. Even I'm planning to upload Badminton content on RUclips. Then when we both become successful youtubers we'll play together. :)
You have worked so much on your backhand!! Its very much professional!! So flawless, so smooth!! Keep it up!!
Based on your videos, t you really improved a lot!
Aww thanks Bobby!
Watching you improve also inspires me to improve ,Keep up the great work!! :DD
Yes!!! Let me know how I can help
Keep it up with your training and videos. You have the ability to be observant and to analyze. Explaining those small details goes a long way.

yup. tremendous improvement in defense
Wish you the best of luck
Epic improvement
Bro you improved so much in 3 month.. Well done!
The way you move is way better and relaxed!

Wow, this is so insightful! I've just subscribed to your channel. Please post a lot of these great videos!
Great work. Thanks
Good improvement Jeffrey!!
Nice analysis. Really inspiring even though I started to play more doubles now :D

It is :) I think recording yourself is the best way to be honest with yourself, and also the best way to dissect your game.
I have the same problem as you used to face, i hope i can work on it after my finals too :^)
06:25 i see that small deception ;) and the backhand shots just for that nice snappy sound the improvement is clearly there
Did you see the one at 5:32 though? ;)
Is that the BingTang badminton center in the Bay Area?
Gotta wait 3 more months for the next analysis ;-;
😂😂😂😂 I’ll make the next one after December! So two months :)
great video!
Thanks Jonathan!!!! (or Ben if it’s you 😅)

Looking good my man! Grinding hard to work off all those after work bobas yeah? 😂
I think my moderate diet of one boba drink a week should be sustainable 😂
I am having problems with my forehand rear corner, i cant change direction fast enough to go there (
probably footwork improvement is needed
Really good video.. With good explanation.
Thanks! :)
Your videos and analyses are great! Your backhand form looks very good. Is there some good excercises other than just a lot of repeats?
You should do a video combining all the years, since you first started filming to now.
Haha that would be pretty interesting! Sadly, I deleted a lot of my highschool recordings :(

You have to play less diagonal shots, then you will improve a lot more
I feel like you tend to walk back to the center, maybe adjust by going back to the center faster

Thanksssssss
badminton jeffrey are u coming singapore i really want to be your singapore drilling partner and play some singles badminton games with you
Is it low of gravity related with core muscle which abs, which I listen from chinese coach on RUclips teaches like this
Hmmm I would say so. A strong core keeps everything together, and responsive. It’s even more crucial when doing around the head shots in the backhand corner, where your body is suuuper outstretched
Low center of gravity, in my opinion, needs great leg strength because you’re always squatting
do you go to bintang? if so which one?
Is this at Bintang?
Is the first scene at Bing tang?
Yup!

Bro if you see Lee chong wei he doesn't use to be too low but he was very fast on court??
I think his upper body is more upright, but I would say his center of gravity is still pretty low
