    I'm really enjoying this whisky. Honestly, on first pour, I didn't much like it. But letting it rest in the glass with some water added for about 20 minutes really made a difference for me. My inexperienced palate gets roasted pineapple as the dominant profile. I really can't articulate the palate like you do Ralfy, but all I know is that I really like this one. It is definitely different and different every once in a while is a good thing, IMO. Cheers, my friend!

    This stuff tastes more expensive than it is. Absolutely wonderful dram. Green and aged tobacco are notes I'm a sucker for being a cigar guy. This whisky is wonderful. Bought it for the sleeve (I collect) and was so happy to find out the juice inside it was worth it's weight.

    Hi, Ralfy, thanks for this review. I would appreciate it if you reviewed some of the Paul John select cask expressions. They have two cask strengths - peated and unpeated one; also an Oloroso and a PX at 48% ABV. I've tried them and I consider them much superior to many Scotch single malts, but an expert opinion is always handy!

    I'm sure cognac distillates were added to it. There is a clear young cognac nose (not virgin oak, but grape distillate) right after pouring and the aftertaste of cheap young cognac finally convinced me.

    Ralfy, just caught you on a documentary for a moment, which I'd seen about Scotch in Scotland. "Ralfy!!", I exclaimed! Unfortunately, I'd only seen part of it, nor did I catch the title, but it was very interesting. By the way, I'm the guy from Canada who commented a few years ago about the MacAllan, since my old bandmate (the late) Neil Peart loved it so much. You commented back, which was nice. I have since tried the MacAllan 12 year-old myself, and was bit disappointed. Neil always enjoyed it on ice, which I think was a bit of a waste, unless (perhaps) consumed very quickly, before too much melted ice interfered? I'm currently enjoying the Laphroaig 10 year-old- can't afford much beyond that! Love your great videos as always!

    Something I've wondered about: There are a few places in the US that have a climate that is in the same neighborhood as that of Scotland. I do wonder if whiskies matured in such places align with their Scottish counterparts.
    I'm still drinking my way around Scotland, but one of these days I'm going to start on American single malts, and that's something I'll be looking at.

    The same distillery that makes Indri has a similar whisky called Kamet. Wonder how different it is. Description of casks is similar: Aged in a combination of ex-bourbon, ex-wine (French oak) and ex-sherry casks (PX & Oloroso)! Is Indri Trini just a rebranding with better marketing? A more aggressive distributor?

    • @DileepB
      @DileepB Год назад

      Kamet was made as a joint venture between Peak Spirts and Piccadliy, and now it looks like Indri is entirely a Piccadily product. There is no mention of Kamet on their website.

    The bloke in my local whisky show was telling me that these Indian and Thai whiskey brands don’t give them age statements because the aging process is accelerated in hot and humid climates. You recon there’s any truth in that?

    • @robfut9954
      @robfut9954 Год назад

      They may age differently, but “faster” is not 100% true. Rums in hot climates get wood notes fast and evaporate fast, but I’ve had cold weather rums at equal ages and they seem just as old but different.
      If that’s the reason for no age statement I would be shocked.
