    This interview is absolute gold. I had to stop half way in order to think about and write down some main points of what Bob said. So much valuable information. I am the father and coach of a promising young swimmer and the resemblance with Michael Phelps in terms of character and attitude is astonishing. Wanting to know exactly what the plan is. If the plan gets changed, even one bit, a mega tantrum follows. Thank you for doing this great interview!

    Thank you for a wonderful podcast full of great questions. I would love you to interview Spitz, Wilkie, Goodhew - swimmers from last century - about how they live now.
    I write a cookery book, Labours of Love, because I know my performance is linked to how I cook from first principles. Most experts talk about nutrition as food not the quality of ingredients and how to get the best out of them. I know from my own experience that making my own sourdough, amasake, yoghurt, tahini, tofu, fruit and nut cake, marmalade (are you feeling a little hungry??) is the absolute foundation to my health and performance.
    I really like your whole format, havrvsbscrided, and am now sharing this with my husband. Thank you and have a great year. 🙏🏻

    Great interview, personally i would appreciate to see you interview someone from the psychology area or someone with knowledge on age group athletes. Here in some European countries where sports like swimming are gaining more and more space i feel like there's a lot of misinformation spread to young athletes and mainly parents, leading to a disregard for coaches and their work as a serious matter

    Not surprisingly when it comes to preparation for success, coach Bowman doesn't leave anything to chance much like coach John Wooden (UCLA Basketball) and his Pyramid of Success formula.

    Leon marchand did not break the 200 IM world record at the olympics, he broke the Olympic record. Also, the world record does not belong to phelps but rather lochte, not from 2008 either but 2011.
    Leon broke the 400IM wr that belonged to phelps in 2023, which did feel like a passing of the torch.

    • @ExponentialAthlete
      @ExponentialAthlete  Месяц назад

      Thanks for the correction. I believe I said he broke the Olympic record, not world record, which I think is right. I was going off of recency for events, but I agree the 400IM WR that he broke was probably more meaningful. I think it is also probably confusing because we used Broll from the 2023 WR. Will try to be more clear with these things in the future.

    For sure and no doubt Bob is a great coach. He's a hero, also my hero, back in time.
    I got great impact from him, and others.
    Is he really still in 2024 the best one in the world ?
    Consider, a mass other records were reached from others.
    ... and VITS exists, Bob is'nt involved and not informed about VITS. Its teaching, leraning, exercising, arrived in modern style and a new world.
    The number of Titles, Records, olympic Medals is already above 100, with help of VITS reached.
    VITS is running under cover, nothing published, only a small group inner circle coaches and Athletes.
    Interests can contact me if they are professionals in World top Swimming oer Triathlon, Sciences of Sport, or Media accountants.
