what was the cause of engine failure?

On this LDS? None. Was running. I noticed seep from head gasket and decided I would change the head gasket with the engine out. Easier than when in the truck. That turned into a "while the heads are off, I can also..." kind of job, with new main and rod bearings, new upgraded rod bolts, new rings, honed liners, new heads etc.

@@cattlerepairmancattlerepai9414 oh i had saw your thread on SS site and saw that your engine was amking weird noises, im guessing it was just the headgasket then?

@@johndowe7003 Negative, the weird noises came from the LDT that used to be in my truck. This LDS in the video was a running takeout as a replacement....that turned into a majorly refreshed engine before going into my truck! The LDT is as of yet undiagnosed. Sitting in the garage as a spare.

@@cattlerepairmancattlerepai9414 oh, i got confused i thought you rebuilt the LDT motor, how are you liking the lds motor? mines and ldt with a whistler turbo but i heard the lds is more powerful, not sure if a 5hp difference is noteworthy
