For me the song is socially critical. You are often forced to do something that you don't want to do and is not in your character. But you have the feeling that you have to do it because society expects it of you.
That makes a lot of sense. The older I get the less I care about fitting into norms. I think it happens to a lot of people.
An absolute underrated, goosebump song.
Now "Springtime" takes on a completely new meaning.

Lovely bit of social commentary here. He just wanted to admire the evening view and went to a high spot, but society, being what it is, jumped to conclusions and took him for a suicidal man. The most telling lines are "redeem me" and "do not disappoint". They want a show. They want a sacrifice. Something to make them feel again. Something to make them alive again. If only for that short moment before they get back to the endless grind. They want something real. And some want it strong enough to "help" it happen. But, in my personal opinion, the guy who actually got next to him to aid his martyrdom is not the most guilty party there. He is, just like the man himself, a victim of the crowd. He too has a thousand suns aimed directly at him.

Pretty damn good comment. I think this song is amogst Rammstein's most intense - the story is clear and yet is it? I had not considered that Till's character is as much a victim of the 'hype'. Thank you for giving me something to think about!

Another epic and underrated song! This one gets me in the feels.
"Spring" is actually from Rosenrot (2005), their fifth album. But it definitely has that mid-90s Rammstein vibe to it.
I thought for sure it was from the first or second album. Once I get through the entire list Im going to listen to each album from start to finish!

richtig, aber menschen waren nie vor uns besser oder schlechter, sie hatten nur keine handys, um sich später daran aufzugeilen.
Unfortunately I don't know of any live performances of this song. Some songs are just too difficult for the band to perform. Songs like Mein Land, Rosenrot, Dalai Lama, Hallomann are usually quite taxing and the band can't get it to work so we don't get live performances of them. This song is from their 5th album "Rosenrot" from 2005. The album also had Mann Gegen Mann (which I'm dying to see on your Patreon when you upload it), Rosenrot, Benzin & one of my recommendations Te Quiero Puta!
I actually find this song to be incredibly sad and deep and I'm surprised they couldn't come up with a live aspect given the lyrics. The story is that a man went up onto a ledge to get a nice view. But people saw him up there and thought he was going to jump off and commit suicide and were excited to watch. So when he tried to get down everyone booed because they wanted him to jump. The character Till plays kicks him off the building because everyone was bored waiting. It's an incredibly messed up tale.

There was a wrong translation: its really haste, not hate ! so Till sings: the crowd starts to HASTE (cause they wanna be there in time to see him jump from the bridge, "SPRING" means "JUMP"

"Spring" is less about suicide, it's actually more of a criticism of sensationalism and its dark side. There is a guy climbing on a bridge to enjoy the sunset. People misinterpret this to be suicide and they want to see that happening (I guess most of them in secret). Till sings from the point of view of the propably darkest and sickest person among the crowd. He and other people among this crowd start to yell this person to jump, instead of trying to stop him from doing that.

Nice to see you react to some of the less known ones! Still waiting on the Amerika(official video) so that you final can do Haifisch! Haifisch is really good live, but the official video is, as Ive said before, probably one of their funniest videos, as long as you get the context. Keep up the good work! (Also, Nightwish was one of my favourites when I was younger, so I might start getting involved in those videos to... 🙈)
I tried doing Amerika but the video was blocked. I loved the video though! I’m working on getting all my blocked videos on a different platform. I can still do Haifisch.
As long as you've seen Amerika, it is less important that we've seen you do it! Yey! That is probably my favourite video, just because of the ingenuity of it.
The live performances are also funny, but in a different way. 😀

This song is about ending a career.
A guy that wants to end his career because he has done something or beeing framed for something (standing on the bridge with his arms open).
Then he tries to back down and the people start to hate him about it and wanna see him suffer and start to put more pressure on him (right away the people swarm in droves).
Then there is always that 1 person who keeps moving the crowd (song is from his perspective)
And once the crowd has seen him suffer and got enough and wanna leave (breaking the ranks)
Then that 1 guy makes a secret plan to still finish him off. (A cloud moves in secret)
And then he finishes him off. (kicking him off the bridge)
Don't disappoint me, jump. Jump into the light. Redeem yourself. I redeem him from his shame.
This song is just about a high position in a company or how politics work.

How on earth can one make a reaction (where the lyrics say 3 times that it's about someone one a bridge and has jump as chorus) and not get the songs meaning? I expected more, kinda disappointed you didn't even get the basic meaning of the song.

Ahh I see. What you were seeing in the background of the beginning of the video was footage of a past broadcast on twitch. At the time of the broadcast cast I was covering different protests and current events. Sometimes I play clips from different news sources back to back to get the prospective of both the Left and Right. It was in no way an endorsement from me. Like my buddy 101frustrations said most people on this channel want to just vibe together and have a good time. So I don’t really discuss politics on this channel.
