Ok, I don't know if this will help anyone, but I had the same problem with my Mazda 3 2007, I was stuck in traffic and I tried to change lanes and to car went off and only the radio and light would turn on so I towed it to my house, at first a tech said that I needed to re program my key because the car wasn't reading the chip in the key until my mechanic came and checked every fuse the once under the hood and nothing than he checked the once inside and a fuse was burned, I think it was a 20 gage and than the ignition would turn but the starter wouldn't turn so he tested the starter and it was gone so I bought a new one and now my car is up and running, so I hope this helps!!!
+Alex Keller i thought it would of been the cars key coding... mine cranks but just does not fire at all ive went through the wires my last resort now is to get the key coding done and proceed from there i hope that is the problem
I have this problem right now... Supposedly it is the sensor that determines whether your car is in park. When you turn the key to 'on' if the 'park' symbol is not indicated, then it means the car is not registering that you are in park, and won't start...meanwhile it is still registering if you are in neutral. This is according to the dealership and other threads. Dealership told me it is a $165 fix, including a replacement of the sensor. I believe the sensor is either dirty, or obscured by something that is in the way. If this was true then the fix should be cheap, and only the labour in removing panels should be charged, plus perhaps securing something out of the way of the sensor or cleaning the sensor surface, without having to replace anything. I could be wrong, but that is my assumption. To reinforce my theory, the problem is intermittent....as if sometimes the sensor is obscured, and sometimes it isn't. If anyone else has some thoughts on my comments, please share! Thanks.
I too realized that the car didn't go into park two days ago when I came home. I happened to move it to drive then back to park and this time it sensed it was in park. I didn't think anything of at this time. This morning I couldn't start the car and I just happened to come across your comment! I'm almost 100% positive this must be the issue and will report back if this solves my issue. Thanks for posting this!
@@Anēudís7I never actually tried to resolve the issue. I've just been making sure I put properly put the car in park. Meaning, I put the shifter into park with a good amount of force and speed so the sensor picks up that it's on park. So, anytime I don't so this and I don't see the park light on the dash I move the shifter back and then slam it forward to get it to read in park again. Since it's worked every time I decide to live with it rather than change the sensor.
Ouch! I had transmission sensor problems. I took mine to a small (owner & 1 employee) transmission shop, which was recommended by a friend. They replaced the 'transmission inputs sensor' and changed the transmission fluid for a total of $194.92 (parts $103.70 and labor $85 and sales tax $6.22). The automatic transmission would downshift when slowing down, but would no upshift when accelerating. I went to a dealer first, who wanted $1,800 to pull and inspect the transmission and $3,000 if it needed a rebuilt. They're plan seemed a little suspicious to me and not in my budget, so I looked elsewhere and found the independent shop.
Well I reset my pcm and when my alarm went off after reconnecting battery terminals, my key fob wouldn't work (dead battery) and I couldn't start the car. I was fixing to call it and I tried one last thing and it worked.. if you have your key put it in the ignition and turn it to the on position all the way, open your door and leave it open, now disconnect + battery terminal for a few seconds then reconnect the terminal, now you can start your car.
Hello I had the same problem, no start no crank. After testing fuses first, then electric lines, relays, a signal wasnt coming from the velocity selector. Cleaned the selector. It wasnt that. Finally it was the sensor or antenna in the key receiver that was dead. Changed it and all goes ok now.

hi, I have a 2007 mazda 2.3L, its a 4 speed auto. I have problems with the starting as well. when I turn the key everything lights up and when I go to turn it over the radio kicks off likes yours. I've had mine sent away to a mazda dealership and they said it had a faulty starter. So I had the starter replaced and it ran good for about a month and then it started acting up again. I've talked to many mechanics on the phone and they all said (bad Wiring harnesses) and would be around $1500 to replace. Do you have any suggestions before I pay $200 to have it towed to a shop that'll charge me a fortune?
Yes go to a mechanic not a dealer! and ask to replace your starter wiring harness, tell them they can just by pass the wires from the power source to the starter cause yours most likely rusted out
Just a random guess, but maybe get another chip into the key. Most keys have built in chips that will start the car. So maybe something is wrong with the chip in the key.
i ended up taking the car to the mechanic, and they think its the engine wiring harness from the fuse box, so that means the car computer dosent get power, or no communication, but i will update and soon as the car is fixed properly and explained what happened!
@Skiller7777 I wonder if this is the same problem my car I s having I removed the immobilizer from the key ignition where it's located to replace with a new one. Never thought to check starter wire I might have to check that out. My pcm wont cut on either it's not getting power I'm in the same situation still for a whole month...alot of times it's the electrical that have these cars acts up I don't know nothing about electrical but I am willing and a quick learner so I'm glad I clicked on this video
