- This was a wet one! The mountains of British Columbia did not hold back one bit. The mule deer rut seemed to be in full swing, but the moose activity seemed to be scarce. Some valuable lessons learned with some tough ones to swallow. Any quick tips on how you select, set up, and glass cutblock style terrain? The region Im in I dont find them very productive compared to natural terrain. Great video, I envy your talent in locating critters.
Honestly I prefer to seek out natural terrain while I hunt. But, if I’m hunting a cut block I focus on secluded spots in the cut from the road. I also think about game trails coming to and from the cut block. What part of the cut block can’t you see from the road? What topographical features come into that section of the cut block? What’s a good vantage point to sit for first light? I also like to park well away from the cut block just in case. That’s typically how I observe hunting a cut block. Thanks for watching!

would help if you had a couple of bread bags to insulate your feet and keep them warm, the plastic would retain your heat and help keep the feet warm, I used to do this when -15/20F when I was younger.

That first buck is definitely a big 4, right around the 4:58 mark you can really see his points on the big screen, im sure you figured that out by now lol.
Right! He was a great buck. When I looked at the footage at night I was thinking wow he’s way bigger than I thought
Going on day number 6 in region 5-2 a and have seen lots of sign but no luck yet it tough territory when you have no elevation to glass and no snow to track put lots of miles on walking but nothing yet .
Just keep hammering those boots, hopefully you ended up seeing something. Sometimes it’s just about being out there 👌 thanks for watching

@@truetineoutdoors When you are eating the steaks is when you appreciate an early October fat 3 point. I don't care how well the field dressing/meat care ect is, those November rutting monsters are just not as good. Now if you can get one earlier, that is the magic imho. Always heart thumping to see in any case.
Yea I agree in a sense, I do notice the difference but the difference doesn’t bother me. That’s part of the reason I hunt almost all season for mulies, hope to get an early/ hidden October cranker.
