I grew up near Hoek van Holland. Your channel is very wholesome. I highly suggest everyone to just block out negative content and brainwash yourself with these videos.

I don't travel, so I like to live my life vicariously through youtubers called Tim. There is another chap that does railway journeys. Weirdly you both make exactly the kind of videos I enjoy. Intimidating? No, not really. :)
"...both amazing and ridiculous." Kind of sums up what it is to be human. I love that you did this and that so many people came along. Thank you for this exquisite silliness, Tim!
Excuse me but what you're doing is pushing beyond what a human body could handle even after years of training under the most harsh conditions You were putting your life at risk which is something I do not commend What I do commend is the sheer bravery you've shown and I am so impressed thank you for sharing your courage.
Would be really interested to know how many people attended and how far some of these crazy climbers traveled for the meet. Can we get a follow up video? Also, massive respect to you for your donation to the lifeboat fund. I already thought you were a top bloke; now you are even topper! And props to Dave, too.
My grandparents were born on Urk. I visited the island many times but never knew I would be able to call myself a mountaineer =D Thanks! Great to see so many people show up, and thanks for the video!
As usual amazing content. I thoroughly enjoyed the climb and the afterparty. I hope you will continue to make amazing content such as this for years to come. On to the silver play button!
This is just an awesome video. Thanks a lot for letting us follow you on this awesome trip. This remembers me when I climbed the highest (not man made) mountain in Leipzig, Germany, which is about 10 metres high. This is called "Warze" (which literrally means wart), and we scoot down with our toboggan.
What a great video to have my morning coffee to! I think I started watching your vids when you had like... 5000 subscribers, and now you're up to 70K! Its awesome! Congratulations on the growth of your channel! Congratulations on making it to the peak!
Not sure where to put this, but for a long time I've been putting off watching your video's thinking it will only be really interesting and be added to the already long list of things I feel the urge to keep up to date with. And it has. Nice work!
I would like to invite you for an expedition to the 'Bosberg', in Appelscha, the highest mountain of Friesland (+27 meters above sea level). It comes with a really cool legendary story as well!! And it has a nice watchtower as well, where you can see the Martini tower in Groningen when the weather is clear. It definitely is worth the trip!
You're Video's are heartwarming Tim. I love your energy and excitement about lesser known facts and places. Also... I've been driving over the houtribdike at least ten times but never managed to enjoy it as you guys did :)
Tim, have you ever visited ‘schokland’? It’s close to Urk and also an old island. Nowadays you can find the old harbour in the middle of a field, it is so surreal.
This could be the start of the strangest travel vlog in the world. Climbing the mountains of the Netherlands. You could do a spin-off where you explore the rain-forests of the Arctic and maybe go cave hunting in the Bahamas.
When I was on study abroad, I was forced to go on a field trip to Urk. It just so happens that the city of Urk is the most fundamentalist religious community in the Netherlands by far, and the people of the community don't like outsiders very much (and we were even warned of this ahead of time). We were just a group of a couple of students and a professor, and despite that he had several people from the community who came up to the professor (who they were able to figure out was not a native because he was not speaking in the traditional Urker dialect) and asking us why we were there, then telling us to go away even though we literally were doing nothing wrong, not even talking loudly! Despite that I found Urk to be a very interesting community with a very unique history, as an fishing village on an island that was once part of the North Sea, and then made part of the mainland via land reclamation and cut off from the ocean completely.
It was great to be apart of this event, met so many nice people, including Tim :) and there was a great feeling of community, we didn't know each other, but we all shared a common goal and connection, which meant that after the second drink at the pub we were all best mates!
As a Dutchman, I appreciate your friend's efforts to not instantly say 'drugs' when asked what he likes about my country. Also, you missed out on skipping Rotterdam. Amsterdam is the most overrated city in the world. Those houses at 5:06 will run you about €1600 a month without services I reckon.
I can't contain my laughter after Tim said, "This is it! The highest point in Flevoland." The reaction of the members of the Expedition were priceless.
This channel is better than remote stations, better than narrowboats, even better than cats with a sense of humour. I realise the giddy heights I'm scaling there.
With enough video editing, even a walk down to the chip shop can be made epic. This is on a par with Top Gear's masterful editing (back in the Clarkson days).
didnt even watch the vid yet but have to give it a thumbs up already. what an epic challange for flevolanders. my deepest respect! hope you didnt had to leave someone on the top of flevoland and everyone made it well back to the -7 meter gound level.
It's a shame no sherpas could come along with you. Thanks Tim and crew for a wonderful video...really brightened my day. And thank you too for donating 50% of your ad revenue.
Hi Tim, what an impressive and lovely video. And what a great achievement to conquer this mountain with so many people together. I have several 4000 meter peaks in the Alps under my belt, but this mountain I have never climbed before. Must be a great feeling to do that. I'm very sorry that I wasn't there myself, when you were doing this. I would have loved it. If you ever do something similar, please warn me. I'll be there to join you. Thank God there are still some people with a good sense of humor and do things like this. Love it.
Without oxygen, without sherpas.
The way climbing should be
the Urker Local at the church was the sherpa.
Not true, i was one of sherpa’s who led everyone to the pub!
In general I wouldn't recommend doing the whole 'no oxygen' thing, doesn't sound like much fun, I rather like breathing
@@Hurricane50 we mean bottled oxygen because as you climb oxygen become less available to breath.
