Dude same. Only discovered them a few months ago and now they're probably my all time favourite band. I'm typically a classic rock fan, and these guys make a lot of those bands look like garage bands. Casiopea is the tightest live band I've ever heard.
As long as you found them, that is all that matters. I was a teenager when I heard their first album in the late 70's (I'm 60 now), and I'm so glad they are still around. Top band.😄

My brother told me that Casiopea was our late father's favourite band. I remember watching that live performance way back in the 90's. Ah, the nostalgia...
I think my favorite part about this whole video, besides the fact that the entire thing is absolutely awesome, is that if you pay close attention you can sometimes see Issei & Tetsuo mouthing out their notes while playing. 21:52 is my favorite, where Tetsuo mouths a heavy "be-do" with his last two notes in-frame.
During these hard times in life, I listen to this performance and instantly it makes me feel better, I'm gonna miss ya till the day I die Joe... I hope someday you'll get to experience this as well, rest easy up there bud
A very controversial bassist to be sure, in my opinion he starts where Jaco Pastorious left off. Jaco brought the bridge pickup down on the Bass of Doom to get that rich bridge tone, Tetsu went as far to modify his top of the line Yamaha BB-2000 to be headless for much the same reason, that sweet, low action, low vibration warmth and control from having the tuning heads right by the pickups. A lot of bassists criticize his style of playing as pretentious and excessive, that bridge pickup, low action slap technique is often compared to guitar shredding and frowned upon as unnecessary... personally I think its stellar and he is one of the world's most innovative and talented bassist. He fills the holes and layers with the high Tom driven style of Akira Jimbo to create a sound like no other. A huge influence of mine, he has inspired me to purchase my own Yamaha BB-2000 bass. Definitely top 5 in my books.
