I feel the same about plane journeys. Take off and landing are the only fun part. Getting to the airport is tense enough as it is as they always are really far away from the city but they are so big and confusing and my small town mind can't deal with the vastness of it. The plane journey is sooooo boring. Nothing happens and I am just sitting there doing nothing. Reading books sure does help.

Totally understand your feelings about daylight saving - I feel the same. There is nothing stopping me from acting the same and being just as productive when it's dark outside but when it is my brain is like nope I'm off the clock I'm going to huddle on the couch until bedtime. Meanwhile in the summer it can be like 9 or 10 pm, still light or twilight, and I'm like now is the time to bake some banana bread and do a load of laundry.
i feel the same way you do about flights... i like taking off and landing, but sitting in the air for hours makes me panic. i've never heard anyone else say this but i'm glad to know there are others out there struggling along with me 💀

I also live in a large city and winter is my favourite season, I've been down in the DUMPS because the warm weather refuses to leave and all of Sept & Oct felt like summer here. It was sort of stormy this morning and I feel like my mood was somewhat lifted but then it was over 20° again in the afternoon and like🥲😒
I have the same anxiety about flying. Landing is such a relief. I also took my first trip to Europe this year, longest flight I’ve ever been on. Somehow I made it without having a full on panic attack and had the time of my life! Next year we’re going to Spain. I’m already anxious about the flight 😞

About 20 years ago I decided to not let a single day pass without spending some time each day reading fiction. It's one of the best parts of my life. Can i suggest an author that isn't much talked about anymore? Walker Percy. For some people, his books are life changing. He's probably best known for The Moviegoer, his first work of fiction, and Lost in the Cosmos: The Last Self-Help Book, a work of nonfiction, though I love all of his books and also highly recommend other novels such as The Second Coming, Love in the Ruins (a 50-year-old book which predicted the state of America today), The Thanatos Syndrome, and pretty much anything else by him. His insight into the human condition is unique and, though his books have philosophical underpinnings, his characters and plots are entertaining and he is not hard to read. Anyway, happy reading!
It gets darker because we are off daylight savings time-we are on standard time. Along with the days getting shorter due to winter coming. So standard time makes it darker. Not daylight savings time. 🙂

There are novels, and novelettes in the series; there are 13 or 15 books in the entire series which include novel on other characters, too. There is 'Armand', 'Merrick', Marius in 'Blood and Gold' and so on. Lestat appears throughout the series, as he was Anne's favourite character in the series. You meet Louis again a number of times throughout the series, too. I recommend the entire series to you, these are novels I love. In fact, I recommend all of Anne Rice's bibliography, she was an amazing author.
Dear Emma, about your panic attacks… Do you drink decaffeinated or caffeinated coffee? Because caffeine is the number 1 enemy of the nervous system. Also, I would recommend checking your vitamin D and magnesium levels. Magnesium is amazing for the nervous system, and reduces anxiety and panic attacks. I hope you feel better soon!! 💙
I have claustrophobia and anxiety when flying, too. I get a prescription for a few Xanax or other anti-anxiety med (the kind that work right away) from my doc before each trip. Just enough for the flight there and back. It really makes the experience much nicer.

I know i might get hate for saying this but Emma, ive been your fan ever since the beginning of your channel or at least from when you had 2kish subscribers. Ive seen you in much much much better spirits. For me, winter is officially your season. I cant imagine snow without your smile 1st coming my thoughts but for the past few months or honestly, ever since you moved to the city, you have been looking so down. We, your content lovers, understand, how amazing your partner is but it feels as if city is taking a big toll on your mental health. Please excuse my comment if it feels uncalled for (which im sure it is) but believe me, as a fan, it hurts to see you like this.
I've read up to Blood and Gold in the Vampire Chronicles. At times I'm enthralled with Lestat's adventures. And then he does something, and I have to stop reading for a while. As a public service announcement, I've also read the Lives of the Mayfair Witches, and those stories are brutal beyond anything in the Vampire Chronicles. Netflix has adapted the first book, and I'm not certain why anyone would want to watch that story. It was hard enough reading it, however the travels back to the old world kept me interested in the characters and the plot. Also, bullying is bad, but people should not leave their tea bags in their tea cups after seven minutes. Personally, I think they should not take them out before seven minutes, but I do not always have the attention necessary to be that determined with my steeping, so I have gained some sympathy for those who have diverse steeping practices. If tea bags are going to stay in a pot, then they should be in a pot on a burner on the stove, so the tea gets thick and bitter.
What is it about cats and bugs? My sister’s cat is living his best life when we have fruit flies, I swear he’s smiling like he just discovered fairies lol. Take it easy, Emma. I’m about halfway through Wuthering Heights and it didn’t put me in the best headspace, even though the writing is really cool and kind of addictive. Hoping my next read will balance it out.

I have claustrophobia and anxiety when flying, too. I get a prescription for a few Xanax or other anti-anxiety med (the kind that work right away) from my doc before each trip. Just enough for the flight there and back. It really makes the experience much nicer.

I know i might get hate for saying this but Emma, ive been your fan ever since the beginning of your channel or at least from when you had 2kish subscribers. Ive seen you in much much much better spirits. For me, winter is officially your season. I cant imagine snow without your smile 1st coming my thoughts but for the past few months or honestly, ever since you moved to the city, you have been looking so down. We, your content lovers, understand, how amazing your partner is but it feels as if city is taking a big toll on your mental health. Please excuse my comment if it feels uncalled for (which im sure it is) but believe me, as a fan, it hurts to see you like this.
I've read up to Blood and Gold in the Vampire Chronicles. At times I'm enthralled with Lestat's adventures. And then he does something, and I have to stop reading for a while. As a public service announcement, I've also read the Lives of the Mayfair Witches, and those stories are brutal beyond anything in the Vampire Chronicles. Netflix has adapted the first book, and I'm not certain why anyone would want to watch that story. It was hard enough reading it, however the travels back to the old world kept me interested in the characters and the plot. Also, bullying is bad, but people should not leave their tea bags in their tea cups after seven minutes. Personally, I think they should not take them out before seven minutes, but I do not always have the attention necessary to be that determined with my steeping, so I have gained some sympathy for those who have diverse steeping practices. If tea bags are going to stay in a pot, then they should be in a pot on a burner on the stove, so the tea gets thick and bitter.
I'm feeling that way too. Your videos help. Good stories do too. Hang in there...this too shall pass.

What is it about cats and bugs? My sister’s cat is living his best life when we have fruit flies, I swear he’s smiling like he just discovered fairies lol. Take it easy, Emma. I’m about halfway through Wuthering Heights and it didn’t put me in the best headspace, even though the writing is really cool and kind of addictive. Hoping my next read will balance it out.
