Just picked up a 60" plow for my 850 Trail... Can't wait to try it out! Especially for the small storms or the mixed ice/sleet/snow/rain (i.e "crap") that we sometimes get which bogs down the snowblower. Great ideas and thanks!
Nice little set-up. I plow a Polaris Sportsman 800 twin with a Click n go plow. You'll get better in time. Use the angle more and you won't keep driving over the same spot.
I put a 60 “ inch and a half abs pipe cut length wise just enough to cut thru the one side then I slide it over my cutting edge on the blade. Works awesome on gravel driveways. Does no damage to lawns and just rides in the gravel till I get a good base. Stays in place to
This machine pushes a lot given it's fairly lightweight! A lot of power, we can see it. Then those tires are required to help for traction. It seems they could eat through any snowbank! Thanks!
Hey John. Thanks for taking the time to post. Can you give a long term review on the poly edge. I have new plow on order and debating getting the edge. Had a rubber edge on a truck plow years ago and it was terrible. Im hoping the poly is better scrapping down. Rubber left an inch of snow/ice. Thanks man and happy new year.
Im on my second year with the poly edge and love it. It floats better and is easier on my driveway. Very happy overall, and the clean up and scrapes well. Worth the extra money for sure.
I put baler belt on my plow edge does fine with reg snow but when you get ice and snow those plow edge really do better when they are metal to scrap the ice off the driveway unless its all gravel
Hey John - love the videos you've done. I did get the poly blade + fall-line poly edge too. You mention the Auto Stop Fairlead Switch but I notice that you don't actually have it on your xp1000. What's your opinion on that option? I do think the stock fairlead spindles are better for winching over just the slot the auto stop switch provides. Too bad you can't have both mounted. Just have a winch saver but thinking of getting the auto-stop switch since I may have others plowing.
Great video John, and thank you as always. My parts are almost in, can't wait to get the snow plow build going on my XP1000HE. Happy New Year to you and yours.
I just picked up my 2023 450 HO with the 60” plow and hydro turn plow also. The winch control and shifter are on different side then my arctic cat, so it going get some time to get use to
My craftsman lawn tractor wouldn't dream of pushing this much snow our last storm took me 3hrs to clear Im definitely going to get me one of these if you haven't can you show how it's hooked up underneath with good lighting thanks
Nice. Is that cutting edge your number one choice for a gravel driveway, at this point over a pvc pipe, fashioned to fit on the bottom of the plow? It looks like it would be a game changer for gravel driveways where you don’t want to make a mess.
Sorry John, But as a Plastic Surgeon for over thirty years... I can't tell you how bad an idea it is to stand whole plowing on your atv. I 've reconstructed dozens (maybe hundreds) of smashed faces/ broken or dislocated shoulders and hips as well as... probably going to be your favorite.............Smashed Testicles....yes, all collected by folks who where riding their atv's in a standing position and the atv coming to a rapid stop for some reason (like something you weren't expecting under the snow while plowing. I wish you all the best my friend......so please just sit down and enjoy the ride.
I totally agree thats why i added the edge markers/rods so i can see the orientation of the plow sitting down. Its risky business standing up, no way to stop from tumbling over. Thanks for watching!
@@JohnFrancoNH With this setup, I wonder whether the Honda will get (or deserve) much play. Plowing just makes sense with this wrap-around driveway and parking area.
Anybody heard anything good about the Boss V plow 5’6” V-XT for ATV’s? It doesn’t require a winch, hydraulic based, control switch goes on handlebars. It’s $4,600 not including install. But damn it looks real legit.

its perfect for all the light and slushy stuff. And youll get done alot quicker too. Thanks for watching!
Ordered a plow kit for my 850 because of your awesome simple videos!
Awesome! Thank you!

I hear ya. He's doing alot of extra work there
Looks like the sides are already built up with snow. In that situation it is better to push it off towards the front

This is awesome!! im also from NH have almost the same wheeler and just bought the exact plow setup...

Well said Joe. Its a joy to plow my property. This ATV setup is quick and effortless.
Have a 570 Trail getting outfitted this winter.
Very Nice!

@@JohnFrancoNH thanks again. Ordered...
Nice video. I have a similar set up but in a Bruteforce 800, and had to a bit of weight to the back . That Poly plow rolls the snow nicely .

Happy new year John, your video makes me wish I needed a 4 wheeler!
Thanks,

having controls on left side are key! one hand for controls and one still on throttle

Next video i will try to show how it locks into place before i get started. Thanks for watching!
@@JohnFrancoNH thanks
John
Second request from me too
Please do a video on how to hook the plow from underneath
Thanks
Wow. Thats plow works great. Thanks.
That Quad is a beast 😁😁😁
I like the products, but I felt the video is too long.
Does the plow self-center or do you just eyeball it?

Yes ive heard of others putting a PVC pipe on bottom for gravel but i dont have a gravel driveways its all asphalt. Thanks for watching!
Pvc pipe works great on a gravel driveway. Leaves a bit of snow too. You can take it off after the driveway is all ice underneath

You need to get yourself a track kit!! Great video!!
Working on it!

@@photometheus HSS videos coming soon. I have a bunch planned. Gotta give the HSS some love too! haha
What plow is that with side angle my plow is manual got get off and turn it
polaris plow with polaris power angle unit. manual switching is for the birds
Like that back up light
Yeah its very handy...especially for plowing. You can see your surroundings. And people can see you out on the road. Thanks for watching!
@@JohnFrancoNH where did you get it from
That's a beast of a setup. Makes it too easy LOL
It really does. Lots of fun plowing on the XP 1000
That plow looks really great, and you have a little bit of snow there, atleast more than us :)
Hoping for more snow so i can get more plow and snowblower fun time. Thanks for watching!
Nice video where did you get the rear winch rope? Thanks
KFI tiger tail that i have custom mounted inboard. Amazon link below video. Thanks for watching!
Time to get tracks
yes i would love those!
how are you adjusting the angle on the blade without getting off atv ?
Via switch near my grip. Polaris electric/hydraulic power angle plow add on.

Would a 570 sportsman push as much snow?
yes but not with a 66" wide plow. Do fine with a 48-60"
sup john franco im john franco!
LOL whats up man!
looking good but I don't like belts I keep my honda they work harder for this
U want a better cleaner push take the feet off the plow
Yes i agree. But I keep the skids on only because to prevent excessive wear of the corners on the poly edge.
Awesome video. But ur not helping ur machine by standing up while plowing. Just an fyi
Don’t get pissed off! I can tell your face get mad lol
Why you mad bro? haha..Thanks for watching!

It's all powder, a leaf blower can move that, what a joke!😆😅🤣😂
Go ahead would love to see you try with a leaf blower.
You’re just making a huge mess… something so simple, and you’re making a huge mess playing on your 1000
And please explain how you would do it bright guy?
Where did u learn to plow? Ur making more work for yourself!😅🤣🤣
Its all for the video my friend. I thought i could use a leaf blower according to your other comment.
Its a toy😩
Yeah a toy that has 90 horsepower. Thanks for watching!
I want the handle bar grab handle for 22 1000. Do you know part number?
