    Funny, I'm actually really excited they made this move because everytime I watch a (Jim Skelton) Jack Wolf video, I really like the knife but am always left thinking... wish they made that in a flipper!

    If they ever make an automatic knife they need call/designs something to name it Out Front Flipper. So it would be a “Jack OFF” knife.

    I am 100% in agreement with you. I suck at front flipping. The dawn V1 is the first knife I have owned where I actually like the front flipper. Willing to give the jack wolf a chance but the slipjoints filled an empty spot in my collection. This flipper enters a crowded section of my collection. Not sure it will make it into my pocket. I have so many favorites ahead of it.

    When I think about the fact that nearly half of Americans cant cobble together $500 for an emergency, I can’t figure out how people buy knives costing $300, $400, $500, or even more every week. It would be great to have all of the JWK but that is thousands. That Rosecraft Clinch River is $47.00 and won imported blade of the year at Blade Show is looking pretty good to me.

    First I want to say, of course we all have our own opinion. That's what makes this community so great. With that out of the way, here's the great news. Jack Wolf is and still will be making slip joints. Probably always will be as long as Benjamin is in the knife industry. With that being said I think it's unfair to judge this model against his past models. It's okay to do things that are different than your normal. This is still a gorgeous knife on it's own merits and a very nice design with very nice materials while still maintaining the spirit of older knives. I myself am going to be extremely happy when mine gets here and it will most likely become my primary carry right out the gate. Good job, Ben! You do tremendous work.

    Not a clip point fan but I'm definitely a JWK fan and I think Ben has hit it outta' the park with this bolster lock, front flipper variant of the JWK Sharpshooter. Being a fan of wharneys, I own the Laid Back Jack and the Venom Jack and wish I had scarfed up a Midnight Jack but I was a dummy and didn't. Oh well, not the first time I've been a dummy and I'm sure it wont be the last. Assuming that Ben does this same bolster lock, front flipper treatment to any of the above mentioned wharncliffe designs, and assuming I'm not financially embarrassed if and when he does, I WILL own one preferably in the Gold Dark Matter CF...and I think just posting the specs and letting us pause and read them is just fine snd dandy.

    Some tool steel like k390 or 10v would nice to see on these nice thin hollow ground blades. If he ever does a high edge retention tool steel version I'd definitely get a jack wolf knife and I'm sure I can't be the only one.

    I think you are missing the point. It is a Classic looking knife, something that looks like a knife your grandad would carry. BUT, with modern materials, and really good design. It's like cars that are Resto-Mods. You have classic looks, with modern materials

    • @JimSkeltonKnives
      @JimSkeltonKnives  6 месяцев назад +2

      How am I missing the point? That’s exactly what I say, almost word for word in every Jack wolf knives video I’ve made over the last year, every month.

    • @stevewealthy6120
      @stevewealthy6120 6 месяцев назад

      @@JimSkeltonKnives. Because you keep saying this knife is competing with every other locking folder out there. To find a knife that fits this exact criteria, it's going to be a Jack Wolf or a Pena. A classic looking knife (something grandad carried), but modern materials, AND a locking blade. They kind of rare

    • @stevewealthy6120
      @stevewealthy6120 6 месяцев назад

      @JimSkeltonKnives . And I wasn't trying to offend. I'm not a fanboy of any knife company. I just pointing out a comment you kept making. It was a observation on your part of you opinion how you viewed it. And it's a valid observation. I'm just offering a different point of view

    • @JimSkeltonKnives
      @JimSkeltonKnives  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@stevewealthy6120 The competition isn’t based on aesthetics. It’s based on the function. I only have about 10 slipjoints: all Jack wolf knives. When I carry a slipjoint, there is no conflict for me, I grab a Jack wolf. When I’m reaching in my display cases for my primary carry for the day, I have hundreds to choose from. At that point, it’s “just another folder” in my collection and not as unique or special as my Jack wolf slipjoints are.

    • @JimSkeltonKnives
