I wanna go to Egpyt to hangout with friends in Alexandria. However, I'm trying to convince my parents by showing them this vid. Wanna tell you most people working in gas stations don't get salaries and depend on the tip Everyone here leaves some extra pounds 3 or 4 or 5 pounds like nothing But it sums to them as a salary
Another Egyptian just commented that nobody leaves a tip. My husband is also Egyptian and tells me it's not customary to tip at gas stations, unless perhaps you got a lot of gas. I have also watched other people paying for their gas and they don't tip. But actually, sometimes I do tip, and sometimes I do. It depends on the day.
We want to see the beautiful shores of Marsa Matrouh!! Ebrahim is Abraham in English, in the bible God changed his name or something to mean "Father of nations" Ab means father as you know, Zeit sha'r doesn't mean shampoos I think cause Zeit means oil, they are natural oils for the hair, does that go for shampoos in English?
No it doesn't, but someone did clarify in the comments that it was hair oil and not shampoo. I did know that Ibrahim is the equivalent to Abraham in English as well, thanks Mohammad!
@@MohammadMahmoud-n6h Oh yes I already know that too! Any word that is similar to Spanish I have remembered this way in Arabic. Just like olive, shirt, and pants. Other words as well
@@Gventures Yea, there are plenty, but because they change to suit Spanish you may not notice them, do you know that "Guadalquivir" is "El-Wadi El-Kebir" or that Alberca comes from the Arabic word Berka "pond"

@@saida494 I have met and spent some time with Bedouins before. They are very kind. But I am not going to say that Bedouins are better or nicer people than any other people. Many people I meet are kind, whether they Egyptians from big cities like Alexandria or Cairo, or Nubians in Aswan, or Berbers in Siwa, etc. etc. People are people, and I am fortunate enough to meet many kind people not only all over Egypt, but all over the world.
@ I respect your opinion and your diplomatic answer. But, from an Egyptian American perspective who grew up in a big city, I assure you that the farther you go from civilization the better manners you are .
@@saida494 Some would disagree with you. I know that because I just had an Egyptian commenting that I should be careful in Marsa Matruh because there are Bedouins. I reprimanded him because that is clearly discrimination to be saying or thinking that way, but my point is, everyone has their own opinion. I don't think any certain thing is necessarily right or true. My belief? There are good people everywhere (also bad, but mostly good). Common opinion? City folk are more rude than small town/village people (anywhere in the world, people say that). There's some truth to that perhaps, but in the end, people are just people, and there are both good and bad everywhere.
Heheh. Yeah I typically do wash my fruit/veg when I get home after purchasing, but I wanted to try it there and then. And I've certainly consumed a lot worse than some unwashed fruit before 😅
I hope you're not anxious abous stares , hardly ever do people see forgeiners there because matrouh isn't a major destination for tourists so some people would be puzzled with seeing a woman with red hair going around on a motorcycle( usually only men drive motorcylces in Egypt😂). Lol no I'm not anxious about stares, I've been living in Cairo for 3 years now, and even there I get stares, because as you said, very few women ride motorcycles in Egypt, even in the capital. I also rode my motorcycle down to Abu Simbel 2 years ago, so I've passed through many small towns and villages where there are few foreign visitors or women riding motorcycles. @@Gventures I apologize, maybe you know best. it's just that to my Egyptian ears it sounded like a harmless joke with nothing creepy about it, but i'm not a woman so maybe I don't know how catcalling works in practice. peace✌
hi ,,,go to (mina hashish) ( port hashish) its a wonderful place ...its only 5 km
It's called Port "Hasish?" 🤣 Why does it have the name hashish?
@@Gventures

Don't pass cars from the right to keep you safe🤍
When you where buying the dates “red” there was a guy that walked buy you , did he steal 2 of them right in front of you?
Yes he did
I noticed the prices at the fruit shops are higher than normal
🤷♀️
Where is all the Al chol and ASH ish in those markets LOL
Locals secretly use them
Esta Baha (ready for the day)
Not soooo secret. But you know it wouldn't be in a market like this being advertised
❤
It is not tomato, it is Kaki fruit
Are you still in Marsa Matrouh or have gone to Siwa?
Why do you ask?

Best thing one does not have to fill up their own gas❤
Haha. I wouldn't mind if I did, but because I've never had to here, I'm unfamiliar with where things are or how to
@ I guess because here it would help when it’s freezing cold. It’s barely 40F or in the single digits C.
@@nagwaaziz Ahaha. In my state in the U.S. it reaches -20, -30, or even colder. But we still have to fill up our own gas
The Chinese man said: pretty , beautiful. I think he meant you are beautiful!
Oh that is sweet 😄
Zeit plural Zeioot means oil -Plural oils for hair
Wanna tell you most people working in gas stations don't get salaries and depend on the tip
Everyone here leaves some extra pounds 3 or 4 or 5 pounds like nothing
But it sums to them as a salary
@@Gventures The Spanish word for oil is derivative of the Arabic one "aceite" so you may not forget "Zeit"!
@@MohammadMahmoud-n6h No, I don't know what Guadalquivir is in Spanish, that isn't a word as far as I am aware, is that a name of a place or something....? I understand El-Wadi El-Kebir = big valley in English or "valle grande" in Spanish. I didn't think about the word alberca, but I see it now that you point it out. But actually I speak the Argentine dialect of Spanish and we just call a pool "pileta" in Argentina. Also, I didn't know the word for pond in Arabic anyway 😅
Hiiiiiiii🎉
Not shampoo it is oil for hair
Lady you look bad ass on your motorcycle 🏍️
Gisele i will like you to buy another jacket, this one is almost damage.
Lol I know, but I like it! 🤣
@@Gventures Ok,so be it.
I'm not sure if you've noticed that how polite the people in Matrouh are compared to the rest of Egypt.
I haven't. People here are nice to me just the same as other places I go 😄
@@Gventures They're Bedouins. Their manners are completely finer than the big cities' residents. Please learn more about the Bedouins character
Are you alone gigi or with your boy friend ?
Ahaha, you haven't noticed I've been alone on this road trip this entire time? 😅 My boyfriend is at home working in Cairo
@Gventures great woman 👍
beware of eating vegetables and fruits from the streets without washing them with water at least
Heheh. Yeah I typically do wash my fruit/veg when I get home after purchasing, but I wanted to try it there and then. And I've certainly consumed a lot worse than some unwashed fruit before 😅
It never rains in Egypt
Lol oh yes it does. Just recently rained a lot in Marsa Matruh
I hope you're not anxious abous stares , hardly ever do people see forgeiners there because matrouh isn't a major destination for tourists so some people would be puzzled with seeing a woman with red hair going around on a motorcycle( usually only men drive motorcylces in Egypt😂).
If you know basic arabic phrases so communicate your'e absolutely fine
Lol no I'm not anxious about stares, I've been living in Cairo for 3 years now, and even there I get stares, because as you said, very few women ride motorcycles in Egypt, even in the capital. I also rode my motorcycle down to Abu Simbel 2 years ago, so I've passed through many small towns and villages where there are few foreign visitors or women riding motorcycles. I'm going to Siwa next and I know I will be stared at there as well 😅 Thanks Smiley! 😊
