As someone who will probably never see any of this in person, I really appreciate the quality of your videos. The information combined with the visual imagery are top tier. I really appreciate the effort taken to share this with others. Thanks.
Why not make it a personal goal and a challenge? Set aside a savings for the trip. Do your research on affordable travel arrangements. Of course get your legal documents together, passports and all that. Once enough money is saved make the travel arrangements and just go! Its amazing what one can accomplish when they put their mind to it :o)
@@gamingchinchilla7323 Agreed. The challenge (for most Americans) is to break away from one's comfort zone and travel solo and please, do NOT depend on a tour group. I've traveled the world this way "on the cheap" and have been rewarded many times over.
@@gamingchinchilla7323While i am not OP, i live in Lithuania so it's very cheap to travel around Europe, also times is not a problem too, but the reason i can't travel is because of Health reason even though i am a huge Ancient History enthusiast, i even collect Ancient Relics like coins of Roman Republic and Empire.
Don’t make those assumptions. It assumes that the many people who cannot afford such a trip are not well enough educated to enjoy this video. And some of us have severe health issues which make it impossible to travel. I found your comments in response patronizing.
@@sharonkaczorowski8690 the post was not meant to be patronizing. Just simple encouragement. I get most people cant afford such trips and of course health can be an issue especially if the person in question was wheelchair bound or they cant handle high altitudes and thus cannot take a plane or whatever else health issues might inhibit travel. Not being able to afford a trip though can be amended by having a savings one can build up over a few years time, and doing research on affordable travel arrangements. I'm saving up to go to Ireland myself which will take some doing. But I consider it a sort of personal challenge which pushes me to practice good money management skills and finding ways to make more money that is within my human abilities.
This is awesome, in the orginal sense of the word. I feel such a strong emotional response to seeing the ruins of Herculaneum and Pompeii. I can clearly imagine people going about their day when the chaos started. "Oh, your city lies in dust, my friend".
Great video, i need more like this. Herculaneum is so grand & classy. Its amazing when you think that much of the city still remains buried ,, a while back i remember they did scans that show Herculaneum is probably much bigger. A very haunting idea comes to mind ,,, did the family escape or are they part of the 300 plus skeletons found on the ancient shore line. That we will probably never know.
Your video "Villa of Mysteries" was an eye opener in how we can experience history. The depth of your storytelling, the details what was found in each room, and the mystical music that i think is an great combi.. it creates an atmosphere that makes me feel the distance in time. It is an emotional response i found powerful when you tell about small details. I can "dream" during your video. You bring history alive trough its lonely ruins and artefacts, and the scary reality that time can be. Is felt.
Returning today from Herculaneum. I had visited Pompeii on a prior experience in Napoli. After the recent unearthing of the beach at Herculaneum , was thrilled to visit this sight for the first time. There are many images that find permanence, but a single loaf of bread cut and ready to eat in Pompeii, and a bed in Herculaneum home will always remain along with a deep reverence and sincere thanks for these opportunities. A tip...visit the Archaeological Museum in Napoli for a greater understanding and appreciation of any visit to Pompei or Herculaneum.
I came back several times to this (show? Offering? Episode?) learn more every time. Just a single viewing is merely a taster; and I'll be back some more, too. Well done, mine host~!
Great video. I wonder if there was a date on the citizenship document or the mention of the daughter's birth. That could help date those events against the destruction by Vesuvius. I saw a video on YT in which an archeologist traced names known to have been in Pompeii and finding the names, with later dates, in nearby cities. This led to the conclusion that survivors of the destruction resettled and started their lives anew. Let's hope it was the same for this family.
That was so interesting. You made Annicus come alive, he was a real person with a little daughter, who ‘made’ it and lived in a unique and luxurious house. What happened to him and his family? We will never know. I hope they went around the back way to Naples and didn’t try to take shelter in the boat houses. Looking forward to more from you. If I ever get to Italy, I will be visiting Herculaneum first not Pompeii.
I had always heard very vague storys about Herculaneum , Pompeii was the focal point. Very nice information and video.I understand a few towns besides Pompeii and Herculaneum are being excavated.
I think that if humans had not invented cars, we would not have the hideous cities of today, especially in North America. Perhaps more care and attention would have been paid to making the beauty that attracts millions to Pompeii and Herculaneum.

great level of detail - I appreciate your work to present this information.
At 1:08 I'm astonished. The columns have a brick center. I thought they would be solid granite or limestone.

Another part of the puzzle unlocked, great video 👍
Your video is very well made. Thank you for sharing about the ancients ruins😊
Incredible. Thank you.
This was a wonderful video. I very much enjoyed it.
Loved it! Thank you for all of these details
I must have missed this one. It was a huge area and i enjoyed myself a great deal. It was hot. The houses were much better preserved i agree.
Fantastic!!! So interesting! Fascinating to see the basis behind Roman techniques! Lovely black floors; their design is so elegant and modern too!
Brilliant video and thank you so much for your taking about this amazing place.
Outstanding!
Thanks for sharing so much of the house
and it life that has been learned.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Great video, well researched. I enjoyed very much and look forward to more!

Wonderful video and content! Thank You.
I enjoyed that very much!
Great video

My curiosity compels me to ask; lots of wonderful detail, but what is the name of the wine shop?
Good question. The name is "Ad Cucumas", and the word "cucumas" references contai
ners of wine. -James

Perhaps you were there in a past life.
The room with the Poseidon relief was maybe a room for bathing.
A great snapshot of history that I have never known. Thank you.
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste
The streets of Pompeii have steeping stones to allow pedestrians to cross safely but these seem to be absent from Herculaneum. Why?

I wonder if he and his family survived the tragedy.
Severus Gothicus lived here. 😁
They did a lot fake staff, fake marble fake stone, Gucci is also Great fake
