I just got the Scandi grind today. Nice little knife. I'd like to use it for EDC, but I'm not sure how I should go about that in the People's Republic of Maryland. I not inclined to wearing it like a necklace. One can open-carry any size fixed blade desired, but if it's concealed, big legal problems result. This thing is so small an un-tucked shirt would render belt carry "concealed". By contrast, any size folding blade can be carried out of sight so long as it has no opening assist (there may be some exceptions). I gather that if a 'Wear and Carry' firearms permit is obtained it 'allows' concealment of blades otherwise prohibited. This last option is a non starter for me as it entails registering the firearm(s) to be carried.
Yeah man, I had to travel through that state a few times during the plague. Horrible experience. Come to the free state of Arkansas! This knife will be more of a utility blade for me. I may have to come up with a better way to attach to my belt. Neck carry isn't my fav either.
@@CommonCentsOutdoorsman The sooner I can escape the DC area the better. I've been thinking about making something similar to a bayonet frog for belt carry.
These are awesome and imho a better overall rig for the money than Mora. I do not care for Moras 12C27n anymore, it's to soft. Also the price on the Eldris has always been a bit silly compared to their own price points . The Mora fanclub gets all bent out of shape. I personally am happy to see a competitive options.
Agree. These Minis are a great value. I don't have an Eldris to compare but you get more with the Odenwolf. They feel good and should fly off the shelf.
@CommonCentsOutdoorsman I just ordered the scandi version . You are right. This first batch will probably sell out quick. To be honest, this is what I wanted from Mora but never get. They want $40 for their Eldris neck kit, which is a leather snap flap and shoestring. I've always thought how weird it was that nobody ever challenges Moras U.S. market. This, in my opinion, is just the beginning. If Odin Wolf makes a woodlore style bushcraft design with D2 and a good sheath, it will be a game changer.
