As someone with hypothyroidism, effectively not having a thyroid, I understand. For me, the fatigue can get to points where I simply can’t walk anymore. Best of luck Ben.
Same man I struggle with hypothyroidism too and at some points I could be wide awake next thing I know I get these black rings around my eyes and I would get so fatigued and tired I would feel Im about to pass out even when I got a full nights rest
Thyroid issues run in my family. It's fun. >> My thyroid function is reduced, but not entirely borked, so I'm not too bad, generally. My mom used to have hypothyroidism(she has since had one of her thyroids removed because of it) and I remember just how much she would sleep, she no longer had energy to go to the gym, she even a couple sent my brother and I to do the grocery shopping because she was just too fatigued

My wife got a cancer diagnosis last year. We caught it early and she's fine now, but the surgery and subsequent chemo was just brutal. It was literally the worst year of both of our lives. We were childhood friends and have been in a committed, romantic relationship since we were 15 years old. I've never been so scared or felt so powerless in my entire life as I did when we received that diagnosis. I hope that you can get past your own medical troubles and make a full recovery. Cancer is no joke.
Yo I had it 7yrs ago (stage 3, major surgeries, chemo, radiation, and more surgeries lol) and I'm still wrecked from it. Cancer sucks cut it's good when you can get to a point where you can joke about it. It'll always offend someone because so many people love someone going through it, but it's still good to laugh. I'll take every and any joke about it and I'll still let friends use the C card if the other person is a jerk, hehehe. I wish y'all the best, don't ever let the fear of recurrence stop a moment of your happiness. ❤
As someone with Hashimoto's Disease (Hypothyroidism), I can agree that the side effects suck. The chronic tiredness is hell, as well as how it causes a dozen other issues, but fortunately the hormones help. Things will get easier, Ben.
@@daisies9368"You're just being lazy" if I got a gentle tap on the head for every time someone said that to me, my head would be caved in like a bowl.

@KawaiiLemon not necessarily. Chronic fatigue could be a sign/symptom of hundreds probably thousands of conditions. Speak to a doc if its really messing with your life
As someone who had to have a thyroid taken out, due to Graves disease, I understand the fatigue. It really can hit you hard and fast 🥺. I'm so thankful they got all the cancer out of your body, dude! Thank God! Once you get your thyroid levels leveled out, with taking thyroid meds, you're gonna feel like a new person, trust me 😁 here's hoping you'll start feeling like yourself in no time 😄🙏🏻
I am 19, got diagnosed last year before my 18th birthday. Sadly my situation didnt get better like yours. Even after several different treatment attemps, radiation and several surgeries the cancer keeps progressing. I got 3 tumors on the same Spot in my 6th rib, removed 4th-7th rib, came back, got removed again and it grew back again despite treatment. Then 3 tumors in my pelvic bone, 7 lung metastases and several other ribs and vertebral bones are also already infected by cancer. As much as I hope for a miracle, this will probably be my last year under the living... I wish everyone in the comments better luck than me! May you and your loved ones stay healthy and beat every illness they come across...
I have an autoimmune disorder that causes my thyroid to stop working. I didn’t know how serious it was, so I didn’t take my meds for a year. The fatigue is insane. I’m now on hormone replacements, but if I miss a couple days, I will immediately feel exhausted. I used to spend several days in bed, and when I finally did manage to get up, I could only stay awake for a couple hours. Losing your thyroid is brutal.
Well that ended abruptly. Dangit, now I'm going to have to search for Pt. 2. Seriously though Ben, I knew about the surgery, but was not aware of the cancer diagnosis, etc. that accompanied it. About 6 months ago I got declared being cancer free after a pretty rough 6 month Chemotherapy track. Got diagnosed with Hodgkin on Jan 5th 2021. Glad to hear you're feeling better!
Hope you're alright! I had thyroid related symptoms at first. Lots of headaches, very high temperature and lots of sweating including swelling in my neck. But it was not as extreme as a thyroid infection so they sent me to the hospital right away to see what was going on. Bit of delays so the diagnosis was a bit slow (took about a month from the first call), but starting chemo took only 3 days from the diagnosis. Already had 2 checkups and I'm very good!

Hey Ben.. As a thyroid cancer survivor of now 12 and a half years who had their entire thyroid removed, and i'm only 32 no less.. I promise you, you learn to live with and manage everything. I completely get how you feel...my mom had cancer behind hers and it was wrapped around her vocal chords so they left a piece attached to it that could grow and come back as cancer again. This was years ago. I had mine out when I was 11 and a half for having Graves disease (and didn't wanna be a lab rat to see what meds worked and what didn't since they're not honest on side affects). Normally I wouldn't share this but I really hope you have a speedy recovery. I won't lie to you though, it's a battle every day with fatigue and among other side affects if you take levothyroxine. It makes my life a living hell sometimes it affects me horribly. I hope now you feel better and can recover, as the cancer being removed and being free of it is the best thing that can happen as that is a scary thing to have. (BTW I was misdiagnosed with tourettes at first cuz of ticking and didn't understand what was happening til they tested my levels). You have a TON of support here I can tell, you make great content, take care of yourself and taking vitamins and stuff on the side truly help with the fatigue problem, d3's and multi vitamins, though there's more that will help too. Rest up and please take care of yourself ❤
I've been through it 3 times in 6 years. Keeps spreading. t first I wouldn't say and either but after awhile when you know it'll get you eventually you just do t care anymore.
I had a total thyroid ablation via radioactive iodine. I totally feel you on the side effects. It's been 3.5 years for me and I STILL don't feel quite right. But it's better than cancer! Keep pushing dude!
Hey, we have the same cancer story! The fatigue hit me really hard as well, especially after my second surgery, and my dumb ass still tried to finish the college semester. Getting out of classes that semester was the first time I ever used the cancer card, and it was worth it.
Good luck brother. Diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma when I was 35, took the chemo, about a year later Colon Cancer, same thing, about a year later Liver cancer, same thing oh and the surgeries to take out the nodes, 1/4 of my colon, and the same with my liver. A month ago they found a spot in my right lung. Waiting to see if it grows and have a biopsy done.
😱🙀Cancer?! I'm so sorry to hear that, I had no idea you were going through that, I was curious as to why you had such a scar on your neck, it was such a shock to see.🥺 In any case, It's great news that you have recovered with a successful excision.👍
I remember when you announced that you had cancer and I just got Vietnam flashbacks when we found out my cousin had cancer. Bless him up in the heavens now but I'm glad you got through it.
Had the same thing myself. Thyroid taken out last March. It has taken a good year to get the synthetic thyroid dose right. Keep going and keep working with your doc to get it right.
I have had chronic fatigue for about a year now and I found that no one understood how difficult it is. I got diagnosed with coeliac disease a few days ago finally so we think thats the problem causing the chronic fatigue syndrome and more. Thank you for reading this 😊
Hey, I have never heard of anyone apart from me with hypothyroidism (i dont use internet that mutch and am pretty sure its rare) anyways my case is quite severe and i was born without my thyroid gland and have always been intrigued by it but anyways since birth i have had to take medication every morning and its quite stressful I have also had to take a large dose and it continues to get larger every 3 months as i grow (im still relatively young). Its so annoying but it should get better
Congratulations on being cancer free man! One thing I will warn you about though, since you had your thyroid removed your going to have trouble staying warm and get things like a cold vary easily. I know this because my mom had her thyroid removed when I was really young and has struggled with those things ever cents.
In June of last year I got my left half of my thyroid taken out, luckily it was benign (non-cancerous) but I remember getting detentions for not going to school or for being late because I was so tired. Thankfully you recovered fine and I hope that you are doing better now! 😊
I’m like struggling right now and feel like I can’t talk to the people closest to me about it. Waiting on them to schedule a cat scan to see what going on but I’m afraid it’s going to take a while and each day the anxiety gets worse. So I’m glad you are doing better.
I noticed the scar on your neck. My Mom has the same scar, she also had Thyroid Cancer. I'm so glad you got it out & that nothing else seems to be wrong.
I had medullary thyroid cancer type 2 and have the same scar and use the same jokes, but i wanted to say the depression that comes with low tsh levels is soul crushing man I wish you the best always as someone who knows what it’s like to not be yourself.
My mom actually had an identical experience. She had trouble breathing and was debating on whether or not to have surgery to have her thyroid removed. We weren’t sure because the surgery was very expensive. But thankfully, she decided to do it because there was cancer. She had an amazing doctor and her scar is basically invisible. Very thankful and blessed!
I’ve had hypothyroidism since I was a kid and the fatigue, even with treatment, is no joke. It was worse before meds but I still struggle and that WALL is real. I saw part two and you’re always funny ❤
I had a precancerous growth on my cervix years ago. Luckily they caught it early enough and I treated it with naturopathic medicine and the growth went away. But the reason why I caught it was horrid. Months before they found it, I was just standing in my living room, with my son running around and suddenly I just started going down. No warning, just my body slumped to the floor, dizzy like I had really bad vertigo. Took a few minutes on the floor to come back. After that lost my appetite, my eyelashes, eye brows and hair became super thin during my recovery and treatments and couldn't get out of bed most days. That was almost seven years ago and I still have never recovered energy wise and also have developed other health issues that might be related, but I don't know for sure. And I didn't even have full blown cancer, so I can't even imagine what you and others go through when dealing with it. To anyone and to you dealing with full blown cancer or are in recovery, I commend you for your inner strength and hope you beat such a debilitating illness. I hope you become and stay cancer free forever and can live the rest of your lives in happiness and health. 🤘😝🥰🦄❤💫🌸🌈
My mom got diagnosed with cancer last year and it was the scariest moment of my life. We were lucky and she didn’t have to do chemo and she was good after a surgery.
As part of my thyroid cancer treatment I was put on a higher hormone dosage after surgery, so dealt with hyperthyroid symptoms. Everyone’s journey is different, we’re survivors ❤️ all the best to you
I can relate. I get fatigued at night so often. I had thyroid cancer and a few years ago, it spread to my lungs and i had my thyroid surgically removed during that time
Hey, hypothyroidism over here, I COMPLETELY get it. I have been taking Synthroid pills since I was 6 years old because I may as well not have a thyroid at all. The chronic fatigue is one of a long list of things that I can relate to all too well. Hope you are able to manage your condition better than I can with mine!

Hi! I had thyroid cancer and a total thyroidectomy. The fatigue is NO joke! My dr finally added t3 to my t4 meds and I feel so much better! But balancing meds can be a roller coaster- hang in there! ❤❤❤ it does get better!
My mom had something similar. Hers had made it into her lymphnodes and she had a bunch of those removed too. That was back in 08 or 09. She loves your content btw!
Found out i had thyroid cancer last year on my 40th birthday. Recovery after surgery sucks, i feel your pain. As a concrete worker i definitely get fatigued
I found out I had thyroid cancer the day before thanksgiving 2019. Got mine taken out just before the pandemic hit. I do relate to a lot of the fatigue. Sometimes its because meds aren't at the right dosage, sometimes it's just the new normal. I hope your journey goes well!

My mom has hypothyroid and is suffering the same ur not going through it alone GL😁
I've been through it 3 times in 6 years. Keeps spreading. t first I wouldn't say and either but after awhile when you know it'll get you eventually you just do t care anymore.
Sounds like my thyroid cancer story. I wish you the best. I am 13 year cancer free. It takes time to find the right meds.
So glad you ok man. My uncle and grandad and dog all went out due to cancer. Just so happy to hear your good.
I had a total thyroid ablation via radioactive iodine. I totally feel you on the side effects. It's been 3.5 years for me and I STILL don't feel quite right. But it's better than cancer! Keep pushing dude!
Much love to you in your recovery
My mom also had thyroid cancer so hope your doing well!
Hey, we have the same cancer story! The fatigue hit me really hard as well, especially after my second surgery, and my dumb ass still tried to finish the college semester. Getting out of classes that semester was the first time I ever used the cancer card, and it was worth it.
Im happy for you, my mother suffered from breast cancer and died 5 months ago. Hope you get better soon!
CONGRATS!!! 🎉🎊
Can I just say that I'm so happy that you're doing better?
Good luck brother. Diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma when I was 35, took the chemo, about a year later Colon Cancer, same thing, about a year later Liver cancer, same thing oh and the surgeries to take out the nodes, 1/4 of my colon, and the same with my liver. A month ago they found a spot in my right lung. Waiting to see if it grows and have a biopsy done.
I have chronic fatigue as well. It sucks, and I'm sorry you're dealing with it.
😱🙀Cancer?!
I'm so sorry to hear that, I had no idea you were going through that, I was curious as to why you had such a scar on your neck, it was such a shock to see.🥺
In any case, It's great news that you have recovered with a successful excision.👍
I'm 28 years out from thyroid cancer glad your doing well
I remember when you announced that you had cancer and I just got Vietnam flashbacks when we found out my cousin had cancer. Bless him up in the heavens now but I'm glad you got through it.
Had the same thing myself. Thyroid taken out last March. It has taken a good year to get the synthetic thyroid dose right. Keep going and keep working with your doc to get it right.
stay strong, bro!
I'm so glad that you're cancer free!
Congrats man 💛
I have had chronic fatigue for about a year now and I found that no one understood how difficult it is.
Your scar looks metal af, dude. Keep it up.
Been there. Have the scar to prove it. You’ve got this!
I was doing work for a teacher today and saw you in the newspaper and the heading was being the Florida man I was so happy seeing that
I’m like struggling right now and feel like I can’t talk to the people closest to me about it.
Wishing you health and strength ❤
I have a fully operational thyroid and still get fatigued. I can’t even imagine what you are battling. I feel for you
Dang bro glad your doing better
I’ve had hypothyroidism since I was a kid and the fatigue, even with treatment, is no joke. It was worse before meds but I still struggle and that WALL is real. I saw part two and you’re always funny ❤
My roommate has that happen to her hope recovery goes amazing and the fatigue goes away my brudda
I’m so happy to hear that you’re not dying anymore!
As part of my thyroid cancer treatment I was put on a higher hormone dosage after surgery, so dealt with hyperthyroid symptoms. Everyone’s journey is different, we’re survivors ❤️ all the best to you
My mother also had cancer and got Her thyroid removed completely instead of one half she is thriving and I love her👍🏼
I can relate.
Hope you are able to manage your condition better than I can with mine!
wish you good luck man!
When ya gotta take a nap, take a nap! You need be a priority to yourself! Much love 💚💚💝 take care of yourself please 🙏
Thyroid Cancer in 2001, complete removal and 1 week radioactive iodine treatment locked in a lead room at the hospital, like some crazy sci-fi movie but still alive and kicking. Glad to hear you are cancer free and love your FL & LA man interactions. ❤
Fuck I hear ya. still dealing with fatigue three years later. Hang in there, takes time.
O MY GODS IM SO HAPPY YOUR GETTING BETTER I STILL HAVNT RECOVERED FROM THE LOSE OF TECHNO BLADE I CANT LEWS ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE RUclipsRS T^T
Found out i had thyroid cancer last year on my 40th birthday. Recovery after surgery sucks, i feel your pain. As a concrete worker i definitely get fatigued
ohhhh this is the different states guy. Havent seen you in a long time
I’m glad you’re cancer free man
I found out I had thyroid cancer the day before thanksgiving 2019. Got mine taken out just before the pandemic hit. I do relate to a lot of the fatigue. Sometimes its because meds aren't at the right dosage, sometimes it's just the new normal. I hope your journey goes well!
