I'm actually playing the OG Warcraft 1 & 2 (currently on 2) purchased from GOG. I must say, it's been an incredibly enjoyable experience. I'm glad to of stumbled upon your review of the remastered versions as it's a good comparison and contrast. Thanks!
Playing the original version of warcraft Orcs and Humans after 20 years or so was quite the sureal experience for me. I remember loving this game, it started my love for the fantasy genere so when i got it up and running i culd not imagine how i manage to love this game max 4 unites at a time, no dubble klicking for qick select, no mouse click movement und no kontext sensitivity. Had to klick the right icon with the right target on the map or just nothing happens but damn the atmosphere was still there and even the old graphics have something to them that makes me switch to them for a mission or two in the remastered version.
Yup. The original was amazing for it's time but the genre advanced so much in the next few years. These remasters are a good compromise if you find the original hard to go back too.
Thanks for watching! It was a ton of fun to visit the original game that I had largely missed in my childhood. I'm excited to replay the next two games.

Thank you! I'm half way through the Orc campaign on Warcraft 2 and having so much fun.
