Also in the pre-launch roadmap video they had Etalus theme playing the whole time alongside the plushie in front. Dataminers also found Etalus ice elements in the game files a while ago. Side note, yesterday they teased a Christmas event and tweeted a pic of 4 ginger bread characters and 1 was clearly Absa. I think they're gearing up for a surprise double character drop for the holidays with the 2 most requested fighters

I remember Elalus himself saying in the PirateSoftware Q&A on what character he mained in rivals 1 and 2. He didn't really answer but, he definitely said "My main will be in soon" so...
I think it’s fair to assume that etalus and absa will be the next returning characters but I think it would make more sense if it was a brand new design first maybe like a new secondary antagonist since we’re lacking in newcomer representation which is what I personally want to see more
Judging by the character distribution, I could easily see 2025 being Etalus, Absa, Hamir, and a new Zoner. Etalus and Absa are basically guaranteed, Hamir is a dungeons character with the Earth Element, and Fleet is currently the only real Zoner in Rivals 2 atm, so a new one could be on the way

I don't think the devs meant each year it will be 50/25/25 split. I think they only meant that of all the characters they currently have planned, the split is as such
i think we will be getting the workshop event winner character who was promised into rivals 2 ( Le Raina! ) and I personally want to get Hodan and Mollo as the returning. i do think Etalus is a good prediction though
Didn't they say that La Reina was going to be like the 14th or 16th character in the game? I definitely remember them saying that she will not be coming soon in the announcement trailer because they were already working on other characters.

Even though I don't like the workshop 4 that much, I do think we'll see one of them in the first year. I personally think it will be either Absa or Etalus, and then Mollo or Olympia for the returning characters but I hope I'm wrong and we get Sylvanos this year.

Seems like it's gonna be Absa over Etalus considering the next event teaser. I think playstyle wise, Absa made more sense anyways. We only have 1 other zoner on the roster so far (and even then, Fleet isn't even a full-blown zoner since she has a pretty decent close range game too). Etalus is probably coming right after Absa though.
I am betting on mollo or etalus. I know you say no fire character but they have already hinted at them multiple times but I can also see etalus, of course. Thats been my first choice for a while but I really want mollo. I actually really want them all. My dream is that we get 2 characters at the same time like they did in rivals 1.
You forgot one thing the confirms the Etalis is next to be added. He has coding for ice in the game already, and there are icicle models in the game files. If Etalis is not next ill shit a brick.
To release 4 characters a year the dev team would need to release 1 new character every 3 months. So you can probably expect March, June, Sept and Dec as a safe bet for these new characters to come out!
Yeah I agree, Etalus is most likely next. But I still really want Absa As soon as possible. She is my second main in Rivals of Aether one and I would love to see how she gets transferred into Rivals 2. But if I have to wait, I guess that’s fine because the game is so amazing and I can’t wait to see all the new things coming to the Aether universe! I love this game!

Hodojo isn’t Ranno. It’s Hodan’s stage Ranno doesn’t have a stage in Rivals 2. Still a great video Etalus is still probably next.
