I’ve been using the Razer Tartarus V2 for almost 2 years and I can never go back to just using the keyboard. I use the directional keypad with the thumb stick for movement and my mouse for looking around. The only issue I had it was the thumb stick that fits in the directional pad should come with 2 swappable versions. It comes with a convex version which is a little slippery when gaming which wasn’t ideal. I just bought a convex rubber fitting made for Xbox controllers and fit it over the thumb stick. It’s literally perfect now and my thumb never slips off. Glad to see someone else making a video on these.
I was thinking about this issue too. Initially was thinking of getting a keyboard but that extra distance makes it redundant. Although it's probably bad for my back too leaning too forward 😂. Alternatively, for budget buyers, the Redragon K585 Diti is another great options that doesn't break the bank. Have lots more button but no scroll wheel, D-Pad or profile switcher. Just a literal keyboard sawed in half. Another alternative is the Keychron Q11. A split keyboard. At least you don't have to be worry about a full size keyboard tho layout isn't a 96% layout. Otherwise it's another "full size experience". Niche but alternatively better than laptop keyboard.
Good video and good thoughts honestly I think it depends on 5 things 1. Persons budget 2. Persons living space 3. Do they have room for desk? 4. How often do they travel ? 5. What do they prefer aka I met people who say the apple MacBook Air with the flat keyboard ⌨️ makes the best gaming laptop ever. I think some of this is personal preference but let’s be honest I don’t think any serious gaming laptop people would game on a MacBook Air given the choice aka pick one or the other when it’s free
Please do it, this video just solved all of the problems i got with my scar 18. i am loving this machine but swapping from desktop, i could not get used to the laptop keyboard. i loved the screen but with a keyboard inbetween it was too far away. i tried a laptop table ontop of my table to get closer to it and put my keyboard under the laptop but this did not work as well. i would love to see the red dreagon too so i can chose one, since the red dragon has bigger shift key and the layout reminds more of a classic keyboard. would love your opinion@@MashITTech
This looks great. For typing in general, I always put my Nuphy Air75 on top of the laptop keyboard, not in front of the laptop. It works pretty nicely, but it does admittedly block the very bottom of the screen. Anything's better than a laptop keyboard. I just can't use them.
Hey Mashit I was wanting to know if in your experience the razer blade 16 2023 model has had any issues since you bought the laptop and your several months of ownership let me know please and thanks! Also please review the Acer Predator Triton 17x (2023 model) laptop thank you for your detailed reviews and content!
No problems at all with the blade 16, it got used loads for a few months and although it is getting less use since getting the Blade 18, I have been doing all our SSD testing on it and it has held up like a champion. Will take a look at the Acer but I have about 6 laptops sitting here to review atm :(
@@MashITTech that’s great if you have multiple laptops to review before the Acer Predator Triton 17x and thank you for your personal input about the Razer blade 16 just a lot of people are asking for a review of this specific laptop as it’s a beast with a 250hz mini LED screen and there are absolutely no in depth reviews of it as of yet and it just seems like the perfect laptop for 2023 as it has the same amazing mini LED 250hz screen feature as the predator Helios 18 but the laptop comes with a 4090 rather than a 4080 in the Helios 18 this is why content creators for this year are probably stuck between the Acer Predator Triton 17x (2023) , Razer Blade 16 (2023) laptop with that mini LED display and the Asus Zenbook Pro 16x OLED laptop (2023) model as the Zenbook is the only OLED laptop on the market currently with a RTX 4080 GPU Nvidia Studio aswell. So really appreciate waiting for that all time in depth review from you love your content!
Very good look at this device, thank you. Laptop gamer here too so I fully understand the need. Are the keys loud? I bought a smaller sized keyboard that is super quiet to get away from the loud gaming keyboard sounds. I know it seems weird, but are the key presses super loud when gaming? Like "Clickity-Klack" throughout the house during sessions? Thanks for the video.
These are very quiet as they are linear (like a cherry red) and with the adjustable actuation and rapid trigger you don't need to bottom them out at all. Obviously if you hit them hard and bottom it out there is some noise but you won't feel the need to do that with this keypad :)
The funny thing is I've seen these mini keyboards but I didn't understand why it existed. Thanks for this video! I'm going to town for this keyboard tonight! Yeah, I'm tired of the mouse pad that interrupts my gaming or work. 😀👏
Awesome - looks really good. At one point I had to get rid of my mech keyboard because of complaints during conference calls (keyboard was too loud - since I was taking notes while speaking)!!! But for my laptop... after all of my comments to you that I was getting the Razer 18... The deal I got from Alienware... I couldn't pass up. So far the keyboard isn't getting hot... thanks again for the great reviews!!!
Yeah, the m18 keyboard is great and I think I would be happy with that too. The razer blades keyboards feel really dead plus I get the odd accidental touchpad press which is annoying mid game
Hi,I was planning to get a output monitor for my laptop, but I not sure if that could add any noticeable input lag …do you think it’s a good idea to use a output monitor for laptop?
I've used the razer Tartarus and now use an Orbweaver , not comfortable playing with the keyboard anymore, I wish there was a way to sync the lightning with my Alienware laptop :(
Hi, I had the same problem but I bought a Razer tartarus and there was no force setting, so the keys were freakishly sensitive, if I just hit another key with my fingers it was detected as a press, so I sold it and bought myself a small mechanical gaming keyboard, I use it with the Razer chroma stand and it was a damn convenient solution, as the keyboard is just on the side of the laptop at a slight angle.
@@MashITTech That means it performs better than the MacBook Max in video editing, right? Actually it will help me a lot in selecting it. Razer blade 16 version is available in our country 18 is not available. It will also hopefully perform equally well.
Mate remember the Bealtek Bt-300 charger ? Can you do a research if the problems that arose in the charger chips will lead to the death of the project or there will be a release of the charger ? Interesting video on the game-numpad btw. It would take some time to get used to , but since i am a single player enthusiast , i would guess that this product is targeted to the online multiplayer fanbase.
I would say it is definitely aimed at the FPS shooter crowd but I was surprised how quick I adjusted to it. With regards to beta tech, let me reach out to him, I am pretty sure he found an alternative chip but will let you know
@@MashITTech Its one of those cheap brands you find on amazon. Its called an I98i. I bought it to see if it made a difference. And it made a big difference when gaming. It has a similar ergonomic style to the one you showcased here and rgb. Has some macro functionality too. I didn't feel the need to upgrade because it's doing the job for me.
Are you playing the new MW Zombies? Wanna play sometime? We will be kicking ass with this setup. HAHA Actually, I was thinking about a similar thing.. But rather a split keyboard, using only the left half. That way, I would have a standard layout.
@@MashITTech So, basically what I do is the following I have the m16 and since most tests showed that having a cooling pad didn´t really make much of a difference I use it flat to the table, then I bought a slim 60% keyboard with small ´´tips´´ that angle it and I put it on top of the palmrest. Works like a charm, the extra used space that distances you from the screen is minimal while keeping all the keyboard functions, also, thanksfully the angle is just enough so that it touches without having instabilities My pet peeve is that I play modded minecraft a lot which means I use a lot of keybinds ocasionally, so not having a full keyboard is a no no for me

was that the ordinary tartarus? I am not encountering issues like that with this pro version I guess because I can set the actuation
@MashITTech Yes, I had a tartarus v2 and it had no button triggering so I had to sell it, on your model can you adjust each button?
Azeron Cyborg... The tartarus would have been my choice if it had onboard memory

Hi Dave, My X16 GPU recently been stucking at 55W when playing game, do u have any idea how to rectify the problem? Its really frustrating :(
That’s really odd! Are the profiles working ok? How are the temps?

Npt enough key bindings for many 3A games
