George Washington vs William Wallace is a savage ERB. Also, if people wanna get the gist of what communism is about just listen to John Lennon's song "Imagine". A lot of people herald that as basically the communist manifesto.
I actually can't perceive it as a communist manifesto, though Lennon called it that. I'm not so sure Lennon understood communism or leftist politics more broadly. I mean there are Christian Marxists, which would inevitably want religion in a communist society. And Marx never really took an anti-religious political position, rather critiqued the function of religion as tool for capitalist control. He even pointed to the possibility of religion being an organizing feature within working class movements. Likewise, Marx was a materialist, so inevitably believed in owning material possessions. His critique of capitalism was about building systems not built on commodities, where value is derived by use rather than by scarcity and profitability. Likewise, Marx didn't layout how common ownership would be held. For example he notes that individual producers do not have a direct conflict with the capitalist class and are sort of outside class conflict. Therefore, private producers could exist within communism. He also stated support for worker's Co-operatives, which Engels and Marx called cooperative society, so a small amount of workers would own the means of production.it would be the ownership of a small collective. Where as "Imagine" expands it to all possessions. "Revolution" was explicitly anti-communism, at least in so far as revolutionary leftism goes. I guess if I was going to attach Lennon and Yoko to an ideology it would be post-leftist or proto-post-leftist, as it seems to sort of reject the materialist aspect of most left-wing ideologies and embraces a more idealist perspective. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-left_anarchy#:~:text=Post-left%20anarchy%20is%20a,s%20relationship%20to%20traditional%20leftism.&text=Post-leftists%20argue%20that%20the,and%20incapable%20of%20creating%20change. Perhaps more influenced by Max Stirner and Nietzsche, idk? Or even more broadly marketed towards a hippie consumer base.Who knows what his intentions or motivations actually were?
@@andrewgreen5574 I think it's more John Lennon believed in the core concepts of communism. I mean when you think about it with all the negative connotations associated with it out of the picture, it does kind of seem like the ideal way to have things. Of course communism would never work in our world because we as a species haven't overcome our desires and lusts for things. It really only works when every single person is both fully aware of what is asked of them, and is entirely willing to contribute to the greater good of the nation. As long as people hold onto their desires to be better than everyone else, or want absolute control, etc., that form of government will never work. “Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others that have been tried." - Winston Churchill
@@SomethingScotty these are assumptions. Lennon's position seems only to be anti-Marxist-Leninist, which was a deviation from Orthodox Marxist beliefs. However, as I stated Lennon's interpretation of communism was way off. For most of human history we functioned in societies without currency, production was based on need, which also allowed us to go after our creative production rather than produce commodities for productions sake. Marx called this primitive communism. Your perception of human nature follows YOUR ideological view, however Marx actually states that human nature is multifaceted and depends largely on our social conditioning and material reality. There's been plenty of anthropological and sociological studies that have born this out. I think Marx had a much better understanding of "human nature", than liberals, tbh. guilfordjournals.com/doi/abs/10.1521/siso.2016.80.3.375?journalCode=siso#:~:text=Human%20nature%20is%20that%20part,expression%20of%20their%20human%20nature. There are also forms of communism that focuses exclusively on individual actions, organization, and needs and desires. There are after all, communist ideologies not attached to Marxism. Such as egoist-communism/anarchism. Which was a common held belief system within the New Left, which gained roots in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Emma Goldman was a figure that held these beliefs. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egoist_anarchism [Stirner's philosophy is usually called "egoism". He says that the egoist rejects pursuit of devotion to "a great idea, a good cause, a doctrine, a system, a lofty calling", saying that the egoist has no political calling, but rather "lives themselves out" without regard to "how well or ill humanity may fare thereby".] "Political liberty,” what are we to understand by that? Perhaps the individual’s independence of the State and its laws? No; on the contrary, the individual’s subjection in the State and to the State’s laws... Political liberty means that the polis, the State, is free; freedom of religion that religion is free, as freedom of conscience signifies that conscience is free; not, therefore, that I am free from the State, from religion, from conscience, or that I am rid of them. It does not mean my liberty, but the liberty of a power that rules and subjugates me; it means that one of my despots, like State, religion, conscience, is free. State, religion, conscience, these despots, make me a slave, and their liberty is my slavery." "Revolution is aimed at new arrangements; insurrection leads us no longer to let ourselves be arranged, but to arrange ourselves, and set no glittering hope on "institutions." "I do not step shyly back from your property, but look upon it always as my property, in which I respect nothing. Pray do the like with what you call my property!" "If a factory-worker must tire himself to death twelve hours and more, he is cut off from becoming man." - Max Sorbet There's also a quote by Stirner where he speaks on workers taking control of production and the products they produce. I can't find the quote rn though.
"Communism is a philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of a communist society, namely a socioeconomic order structured upon the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money, and the state."
@@Syllaren which capitalist system doesn't have an oligarchy? Many are monarchies, lol. And I think you might want to actually look into many "communist" systems, which generally have a limited democracy which prioritizes decentralized control. Slightly less democratic than the U.S., but far more decentralized. China is an example of this, but is often called a dictatorship.
@@andrewgreen5574 did you see the part where I mentioned capitalism. Cuz it wasn't there. There isn't a comparison here, this wasn't a conversation about what is superior. Plus it's not exactly against the core beliefs for there to be a capitalist oligarchy, although I would like that not to be a case. However communist dictator/oligarchy is a fucking oxymoron. You can't have both. So every communist system right now just lies and wears the flag of communism. Also west Taiwan is a fucking oligarchy of the highest example. Going against the CCP leaders is fucking suicide. All decisions are made through there, they use the sarf to shut down anyone who insults them at all in media. Everything is under their control. What the fuck would you call that if not oligarchy? Also to be clear, west Taiwan shows more commonality with capitalism, than it does communism.
@@Syllaren yeah you didn't mention it, which seems hilarious to me. It's even more hilarious when you state equate "communism" with Marxist-lenninism, lol. I could just imagine Bakunin and Kropotkin shaking you down, lol. China has a mixed economy as outlined by Deng in 1978, lol. Deng stated the goals of what "socialism with Chinese Characteristics" is. As long as the Chinese people see their incomes and quality of life rise, then they will continue to support the CCP. I don't know what Taiwan's system has to do with this, lol. They are still a multi-party system that the DPP has held power multiple times since 1988. Also, as you stated they are primarily a capitalist economy, where as China holds more nationalized industries. However, anywhere capitalism exists, an oligarchy will form, so it's kinda irrelevant to criticize Marxist-leninism on these grounds. Especially when they explicitly state their goals, which is to industrialize through capitalism and begin to transition towards socialism. Now, we will have to see where the Chinese route actually takes the Chinese people, and whether it's worthwhile in the long run. However, that's a very different perspective than your original statement.
@@andrewgreen5574 yes they continue supporting the CCP. Also the fact that information that doesn't support the CCP isn't allowed to be on any platform in the country. Makes for a good support system. Also it's good that you have such an extensive humor that not mentioning capitalism in a statement that had nothing to do with it and drew no parallels or references to it is funny to you. Idk why you seem to think I've got to like the American government in order to criticize west Taiwan's. Also what I'm insulting is the fact that there is next to nothing "communist" about a place that's been ruled by a "communist party" for decades. Why the fuck wouldn't that be something to note when discussing communism. The reality is the first thing people think of when they say "communist country" is west Taiwan.... Yet west Taiwan isn't a communist country. That was my subject. It has absolutely zero to do with whether or not capitalism is a better system or not, and it makes no claims as such. Also you may have guessed that I also dislike the American government. Especially the factor that they refuse to acknowledge Taiwan's independence from west Taiwan, or take a stance against west Taiwan breaking it's promises about hongkong.

I love the way "penny for the scapegoat" finished that line, though. Basically he's saying "My legacy is being such a national hero I'm on their money. Your legacy is your country hating you so bad they burn you once a year." Savage.
The Cuba Commander line probably also plays off of Cobra Commander, the much more well known villain in GI Joe. So Castro is the main antagonist while Che is a side character.
First react of yours I've seen, you've got a charismatic presentation, and I appreciate your takes on the lines
I love that you know the history. Many reaction personalities miss the nuance that ERB writes into their videos.
To this day this is still one of m favorite match ups they have ever done. I just love this one so much.
V for Vendetta was an adaptation of a graphic novel by Alan Moore, which is about 100 times better than the movie
For starters it's left leaning, and not neoliberal like the film
You're so chill man. I love it, love the energy of the channel.
I think the Ghandi v MLK battle is brilliant, you should give it a watch.
Just re-watched it the other night
Guy fawkes was hung Drawn and quarted. But historically speaking and traditionally the head normally either ended up on london bridge tower bridge or the tower of london. The rest of the body was sent separately to different parts of the county.
Wasn't hung, going to be hun he fall or jumped off the stage it's debated if he jumped or just fall cause he couldn't stand well from all the torture and broke his neck and died there
11:05 The moving up of the vocal pitch when a man is dismembered is just false. Don't happen. Only if a BOY is cut before puberty, the voice pitch never happens and he keeps his child voice. Is why the catholics in ancient times sometimes cut very talented choir boys so they would not grow out of their talent. Someone's cut before puberty, voice stays a child's, he's cut after puberty, voice stays an adult's.
I'm binging these reactions but again, you really know your history. I'm super impressed and it makes these video's so much more interesting.
Edgar Allan Poe vs Stephen king. Poe played by George watsky and Stephen king played by Zach sherwin, two of the best rappers on RUclips cameo on erb pretty often.
Zach Sherwin helped write lines for this one as well... “You’re an ump-Che.”
Man keep the ERB coming loving the content!
I wanted to compliment you on that vanishing edit. You even knew to spin the chair for the cut. It's a basic trick but it was thought out and perfectly exicuted. Well done.
I do no think there is another video that after almost every lyric MrBloyd stops and breaks down the history and meaning behind it. It's literally every line. At almost 7 minutes into the video the rap song is a minute in. All the epic rap battles of history are fantastic!
Seriously I am always impressed with the sheer amount of research they put into these.
The ‘plot’ line refers to Guyfawkes ‘gunpowder plot’ which is what the whole thing was called.
Bob Ross vs. Pablo Picasso is pretty fire IMO
You earned a sub from me sir, What really makes ERB truely great, is knowing the history they are rapping about. Only then can you really appreciate the bars.
I like the way you break stuff down, you seem to be knowledgeable.
Wow, very impressively educated reaction! New subscriber earned!
10:42 my man 🤣😂🤣😂 I was so happy thinking you were gonna make the Fox sound 🤷🏼♂️🤣😂
Always a pleasure listening to these. I suggest Einstein vs Hawking next it has some bars. Keep doing this i like your channel!
You should react to the darth Vader vs hitler ERB theres 3 of them and they’re all good
The bars are weak on those ones
Vader whooped him on a 3peat
My man doesn't like star wars lol he's a trekkie so a lot of the Vader Hitler stuff might miss.
Yes please
Finding an intelligent RUclipsr is very rare. Love you man!
3:57 ERB videos are ridiculously thoroughly researched, so I'm sure they're well aware that it's only a rumor.
Definitely need to check out Wolverine vs Freddy Krueger! Love your reactions man, been binge watching them! 🔥🔥
I have a new appreciation for ERBOH because of the way you break them down.
09:42 AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... he smacked himself out of existence! I've never see that happen before! That's a GREAT bit! hahahaha fantastic! Damn son, where'd you fine this!?
A co consipiter wrote a letter to a relative telling him not to be in parliament that day. That was why he got caught.
Damn. The best breakdown ive seen of these rap battles. Props
There’s a parallel universe where Guy Fox did blow it up.
I love these vids, i wouldn't understand half the bars if you didn't explain them lol. Any chance you could make a playlist of these so i can be sure i catch them all?
The Luke Skywalker vs Harry Potter shot in legos is awesome!
my favorite part about "this entire battle disproves your communist initiative, these rhyme skills are not evenly distributed" is that in the end no matter who won the battle Che's ideology is destroyed by the fact that there is a winner in the first place. so even if he wins he still loses
"What does the fawkesx say" - is a reference to a song a few years ago. It's actually "what does the FOX say".
Do Thanos versus Oppenheimer
dude your voice is so smooth lol
Dude! Kudos for knowing your history! I've watched a lot of reactors react to this battle, and most don't even know who Guy Fawkes is, nor do they mention how terrible the murder Che really was. Way to go!
How was che a murderer exactly
@@rizzospastis He didn’t hesitate to kill just about anyone who got in his way. Journalists, businessmen and former colleagues who didn’t agree with him were all executed on his orders and without a fair trial.
@@P.HATHCOX right. Im sure about that.
@@rizzospastis
Because he killed innocent people … so … a murderer then
I loved the metal reactions but these are also awesome as you understand the history of the battlers
I think my personal favourite swings between the George R R Martin vs JRR Tolkien one, and the Stalin vs Rasputin one. Either or both, I would love to see your take on them.
HOMOPHONE! I was trying to remember that word yesterday and couldn't to save my life. Thanks! And great reaction video :)
Bay of Pigs Latin is also a play on "pigs Latin" which is where you take the first letter (or letters) at the end of word and add "ay" to it, which is what he was doing with "ump-chay"
ROFL, the moment you only referred to him by his first name, I knew I made the right decision subbing.
just to clarify, the main reason cuba is in misery is the economic blockade(some try to call it an embargo but that's not what i tis. and no, you dont need even one war ship to do a blockade when you can abuse your economic power) usa has against the cuban people.
and even with the blockade cuba has one of the best education systems in america. and is one of the few countries on earth to have developed a covid vaccine.
and is one of even fewer countries with SEVERAL vaccine candidates.
Facts!
Finally someone who can admit that Che won this one. He fired hard-hitting shots after shots, like clockwork…
I was not surprised that you knew their stories well. Good
The fact that the head was indeed removed from the body at all, and possibly put on display anywhere makes the bar.
Wait... Did that "what you're fighting for sucks" line hit so hard it briefly took you out of the video ?? Dayum...
It's literally called the Gunpowder Plot, and traitors heads were put on display on London Bridge
A common saying in England is also "remember remember the 5th of November" just incase you want that little piece of info Boyd haha.
November 5th is Guy Fawkes night in the UK.
Great reaction! I strongly recommend the following ERBs: Stalin vs Rasputin, Spielberg vs Hitchcock, George RR Martin vs JRR Tolkien, Edgar Allen Poe vs Stephen King, Jack the Ripper vs Hannibal, Vlad vs Dracula, Harry Potter vs Luke Skywalker, Thanos vs Oppenheimer, and Pennywise vs Joker. There are tons more good ones but I have watched the ones I just mentioned (and various reactions to them) a bajillion times. Excellent stuff.
First of all want to congratulations on your page. Quite enjoy your knowledge of history and music which is lacking on the internet. Secondly, want to personally say thank you on your comments on Che. I was born in Cuba my father served 15 years as a political prisoner. He was one of the lucky ones many of my father's friends met their end at che"s bloodlust or rotated in jsil.
Don't support dictators who themselves usurp power through military coup
Einstein vs. Hawking
Xophenex here, my asthmatic comrade.
Intelligent, Sophisticated, Charming, Charismatic, with an apt amount of Humor...
I'm quite happy I found thy channel.
Also... I whole heartedly agree...
Che got this one!
These are great, thank you! I think another solid choice would be Dr Freud vs Mother Theresa. It is fantastic!
13:22 - Pearls of truth right here, my friend.
"You should have stayed anonymous" is a reference to Anonymous, who use Guy Fawkes as their spokesman.
sick commentary
the plot referenced is "remember remember the fifth of november, gunpowder, treason and plot."
Theodore Roosevelt vs. Winston Churchill
You don't shake a mojito, the mint is muddled meaning it's ground with a muddle baton.
Cuba Commander is also a play on words of Cobra Commander, the villain Destroy served.
Model heads of Guy Fawkes, Oliver Cromwell and Sir Thomas More have been stolen from the front of a London tourist attraction.
They were taken from the entrance of the London Bridge Experience on Saturday morning.
A man was captured on CCTV using a rope to tug the figures down before walking away with Fawkes's head under his arm.
The attraction is offering £400 for help to find the models, saying: "We just want our heads back."
your one off there was 36 barrels of gun powder under parliament when Guy Fawkes was caught the event you were talking about is called bonfire night here in the UK

Emma Goldman was a figure that held these beliefs.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egoist_anarchism
[Stirner's philosophy is usually called "egoism". He says that the egoist rejects pursuit of devotion to "a great idea, a good cause, a doctrine, a system, a lofty calling", saying that the egoist has no political calling, but rather "lives themselves out" without regard to "how well or ill humanity may fare thereby".]
"Political liberty,” what are we to understand by that? Perhaps the individual’s independence of the State and its laws? No; on the contrary, the individual’s subjection in the State and to the State’s laws... Political liberty means that the polis, the State, is free; freedom of religion that religion is free, as freedom of conscience signifies that conscience is free; not, therefore, that I am free from the State, from religion, from conscience, or that I am rid of them. It does not mean my liberty, but the liberty of a power that rules and subjugates me; it means that one of my despots, like State, religion, conscience, is free. State, religion, conscience, these despots, make me a slave, and their liberty is my slavery."
"Revolution is aimed at new arrangements; insurrection leads us no longer to let ourselves be arranged, but to arrange ourselves, and set no glittering hope on "institutions."
"I do not step shyly back from your property, but look upon it always as my property, in which I respect nothing. Pray do the like with what you call my property!"
"If a factory-worker must tire himself to death twelve hours and more, he is cut off from becoming man."
- Max Sorbet
There's also a quote by Stirner where he speaks on workers taking control of production and the products they produce. I can't find the quote rn though.
"Communism is a philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of a communist society, namely a socioeconomic order structured upon the ideas of common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money, and the state."
And every place that practices it so far is actually just a dictatorship or an oligarchy with little to no effort put in disguising it.
The "try to rehearse" and "error prone terrorist" lines are a miss for me. What lots of people forget is Guy wasn't caught because HE screwed up. One of his co-conspirators confessed what he was about to do to his priest the night before the plot was set and the priest broke the confidentiality of the confession to alert the authorities. Guy played HIS part perfectly, it was his fellows that screwed up.
Doctor turned pirate vs noble turned bomber.
Remember remember the 5th of November is a saying in the uk as it was used to tell people who plan on committing treason to remember what happend to guy
Unrelated, have you ever considered being a reader for audiobooks? You have a great voice for it.
"Epic fail guy" was a meme in the mid 2000's, sharing an origin on 4chan with Anonymous.
So a battle between someone who was tortured and executed after he got caught unprepared vs. someone who specialized in attacking those unprepared.
White one argument is that Guy Fawkes day celebrates the failure of the Gunpowder plot... and that is certainly the official line, but I certainly know a lot of people who consider it an enactment of celebration had the plot succeeded. Other than being tradition and a good excuse to set off fire works, most Brits consider the holiday as weird as everyone else does.
Remember, remember the 5th of november, The gunpowder treason and plot. We see no reason, why gunpowder treason, should ever be forgot.
To be fair to Guy Fawkes though, he didn't fail to light the fuse, he was caught before he was supposed to do it. Like a bank robber who's waiting for the right time to go into the bank but gets stopped by police before he gets into the building
This has one of my favorite lines "Face it Ernesto your Castro but less so. He's Cuba Commander you're more of a Destro."
