- I'm not going lie I'm getting more and more excited about these Spanish gold coin releases! Here we go, on to the 3rd release the very much anticipated Caballo! Love the design still but have to admit, its very similar to the Toro design only major difference is one is a horse the other is a bull, which is just as important for the series as changing up the design a bit. As mentioned in the video they have LOWERED the mintage on these Caballos which could make them slightly more valuable than the Toro's but a bit less than the first release the Lynx. Its clear the mint is experimenting with the series which is great for the collector, all these different variations and mintages creates opportunity for appreciation down the road. I mean so far every release has been different in some shape or form (and I'm not talking about the changing of the obverse animal every year). The Lynx for example, was the first release that's an automatic massive upside in any series, especially if they become successful. The Lynx so far has been the only up close face only design, not to mention did not include any security feauture. The Toro added the security feature for the first time, raised the mintage, to 15,000 which can help sometimes if its the only one with that mintage. Finally, the Caballo, dropped the mintage again to 12,000. Its clear they working out some things still but man is it EXCITING!

Beautiful collection. I just ordered the new Caballo, now I have to get the one ounce Lynx and I will be set. Using past releases as a reference point I would day the 1/10 ounce coin should be released in Spring 2024. Enjoy your collection.

Spanish doubloons are a good investment. In Spain it is said that the print runs of 15000 or 12000 are the legal maximum limit, but that they are manufactured in batches as they are sold. At the end of 2023 the Toro will stop selling, whether they have reached 15000 or not, so they will not be left over. That's good for investors.

Love the daily vids. And im glad you love this series as much as i do. I am doing the collection in 1/10ths and in 1oz. I also bought 2 extra 1oz lynx to put away in the safe to one day sell. I think being the first coin in the series the lynx will appreciate over time. I didnt notice it till you pointed it out but yes the stallion is way too similar to the toro 🙁 i wish they did the stallion at a different angle or captured in a different stance.

Hi Guido. I read that collectors complained that if you bought the series having two different Mintages not everyone can have a complete set. So lots of unhappy customers. I hope that helps.

Picked up a pf69 lynx and a pf70 Toro at the FUN show in Orlando. Do you think its worth picking up the 2023 now or wait to see if the price falls later on.

I think the 1/10th comes out in early 2024. Raw Lynx are gone.
So what 3k is nothing, these mint numbers are tiny regardless of the change for the Toro. Dude it's a mint trying to grow. They're taking profits and aiming for future coins.
