This video has been remastered with a significantly improved sound and improved vision and replaces an older version published a few years ago.
This was one of the rare opportunities to fly a real classic Jumbo Jet without travelling far.
Just about one year after the sightseeing flight of Iran Air’s SP-Jumbo, AirEvents Limited and Iran Air had the idea to use the ground time of the scheduled rotation of Iran Air to Cologne and to operate the original classic, a 100-series Boeing 747 for a another short sightseeing flight over the region.
The weather in Cologne on this Saturday in July was perfect and this was one of my first video projects using my new Sony camera equipment recording in HD.
If you are spoiled with the sounds of Russian Classics, the sound level of a classic 747 is rather a disappointment, however it is always a great experience to be on board this Grand Old Lady.
Welcome onboard Iran Air and the charming hospitality of the Iran Air Crew.
Enjoy with me the world of the Sights & Sounds of Classic Aviation.
Thank you for watching my channel.

Wow!! This is definitely a beauty! The 100 and 200 and the 400 I’d say are the definitions of what this 747 really was, not saying the 747-8 isn’t good, it’s definitely good! But the old ones that have been around for a long time are definitely iconic! Any 747s that are flown, are the true queens of the skies!
I expected this to be one of the loud and proud jets of the early days. However, the queen is as elegant as always. Long live the Queen, 747!
The JT9Ds win my heart❤❤❤❤❤❤
Classic jumbo. Interior and all
Watching from New Zealand and enjoyed the flight. Thanks!
Amazing! The end of the video of her taking off was breathtaking - a true queen of the skies.
Thank you 🙏
Oh yes what a classic 👌

What are the strange streaks seen on the front of the wing of the 747-100 and 747-SP?
I wonder if she is still airworthy till this day
A look into the video might answer your question...
@@sightsandsoundsofaviation you mentioned in the description that this is a few years old remastered video. So I treat the information within like that. It's a great video showing how it looked back before I was even in the plans of my parents...or my parents even were in the plans. Very interesting.
@@adam207321 EP-IAM has been in storage since 2014, and is not in the state to be be refurbished into airworthy condition.
@@aviationlba747 thank you. Rest in piece to the last one
Touched down beyond the end of the TDZ, therefore wasted lot of space and was only able to take the second last exit. Smooth looking, but in fact bad landing.
Well, I am still alive...
this is boing 747-200.....
Bro Boeing 747-100 is written on it see 1:10
Good video but this is a 747-200 :)

They even let me into the cockpit when I flew in from Narita!
The Narita flight had a lot of crew on board and the pilot changed at Seoul, the transit point.
NRT-ICN Capt.Shademani
ICN-IKA Capt.Hamedani
They were great pilots.
Very nice
