    I’ve been a fan of her for years now and her slow rise is so inspiring. people commenting here oh she’s in an industry plant did you even watch the video? She has been working her ass even before her Girl Meets World days, she has been making youtube covers since she was a kid, winning vocathlons, she even entered a miley cyrus singing contest to get to meet her when she was 9, she has always been chasing the dream to become a pop star herself. When she was starring GMW she got that awful slave ass album contract deal with hollywood records (disney co) to make music but still music disney would have to approve. She couldn’t even curse in her songs til her last album cause everything had to be so Disney polished from 2014-2020 so like it makes so much sense to me that it was only until her departure from her old label and her signing to island records on 2021 and then putting out her 5th album (& 1st outside disney) on 2022 that she would start to get noticed. She gained so much more creative control and got her own input and tongue in cheek humor out in her songs and was able to be vulnerable about her struggles with relationships on her deepcuts like why her father’s affaire kinda jinx her idea of love and how it affects her to this day. I think as a fan what really was a pivotal moment for her was the beginning of the tradition with the Nonsense outros, and then of course she got her image figured out so much wich makes her standout and she’s been able to create and perfect this signature hair and make up look, her little heart cut out dresses and naked wolfe’s platforms that everyone’s recreating all over social media. Then after her tour got stablish to have the blessings of an artist like taylor is massive, and I saw her live on the eras tour and was so amazed by her stage presence lighting up the mood of a whole stadium.
    I’m honestly so proud of her coming out with such grace of all the unnecesary hate train she got over on 2020 and proving hard work pays off in the long run, she could’ve let all of that stop her and it only made her keep going. I’m soooo so excited for her new album short n’ sweet and her collabing with jack antonoff and max martin 🥹

    I feel like Sabrina not finding much success for her albums during Disney is because the company used an outdated system for her generation of the Disney girls. Miley, Demi, and Selena became famous during a time where Disney was at its peak, and social media wasn’t as popular, so Disney would put in effort to promote them like making merch, constant meet & greets, movies centering around the 3, etc. During Sabrina’s time on Disney, it was like you mentioned where Disney was on a decline, and I’ve noticed that Disney didn’t really promote the newer girls like they did with the golden trio. While yes they spammed their music during commercial breaks, it wasn’t enough because social media was the new thing and it was easier and more accessible to become famous whereas before it was hard unless you were on a network like Nickelodeon or Disney Channel. Disney relied on that old system they used for the golden trio instead of adapting to the times and using things like social media to help boost the new gen girls. When Disney realized they couldn’t recreate the success they got from Miley, Demi, and Selena, they gave up and became lazy which screwed those girls over in the process because they were on a contract forced to crank out albums for them without gaining any sort of recognition in the mainstream media like their predecessors.

    In my opinion being on Taylor's tour was what gave her a platform to show her face to the audience. Sure, Feather and Nonsense we huge Tiktok hits but most tiktok audience is not so much concerned about the artist than the 30 sec clip made by their influencer. As mentioned in the video, Taylor has a large fanbase that is ready to consume anything (literally anything) related to her. her hilarious reachtion on the opening act is what drew the swifties attention inturn making her performance as viral as the cruel summer performance where everyone knew that this is sabarina and look how funny and unique she is

  • @tiffariff
    @tiffariff 6 месяцев назад +44

    I think what really hit was she got into the orbit of Taylor after all of the Olivia drama- plus really greatly timed releases of a good summer songs at the same time period. I have listened to Sabrina carpenter before all of this, while she wasn’t GREAT, there were a few songs I actually liked early on. I think it just took her a while to figure out which parts of her music had the ability to go viral- and that being said - I resent the idea that an Artist is only valuable based on popularity. It’s the artists that don’t care about the flow that bring the most unique noises that I hold dear- and eventually the best of those artists become viral- that’s how many indie icons began, pop is a different area that’s somewhat similar with rap, but pop artists with this typical indie icon trait typically tend to end up releasing banger after banger once they hit their peak for at least a few years.

      'Taylor won't be too happy'🤣🤣🤣🤣 Like c'mon, homegirl is on a 2B$ tour, selling millions of albums within weeks and breaking records worldwide. Do u think she gives two f*cks about what a sudden-blowup is doing?? Taylor Swift is on another level of fame, something we haven't seen in the past 2 decades. It's not normal to be this popular and talked about and I might not be exaggerating while saying this but there will be NO HUGE SUPERSTAR at the par of MJ, Prince, Madonna, Mariah, Whitney, Britney, Eminem, Beyonce and Taylor. These superstars are of no comparison and that's the truth.

    • @BeautifulDreamerK
      @BeautifulDreamerK 6 месяцев назад +21

      @@RonyChatter the truth is that fame is fickle. At one point, their stardom drops, fades, etc…even the biggest stars experience this. Taylor could be the biggest star and especially now but not everyone will be hooked in consistently everyday until the end of time. That’s how it works.

    • @RonyChatter
      @RonyChatter 6 месяцев назад +5

      @@BeautifulDreamerK you have to be really delusional to think that. Fame is fickle, but not for people like T Swift. She has an INCREDIBLY CONSISTENT FANBASE and her ability to master those parasocial relationships is insane. Her fans are like a cult, they would never not support her... Look at Madonna for instance, u could say she's not so big anymore but 1M people still turned up at her concert and that too not in her home country. Look at Britney, even when she's not releasing albums, people are thinking of her, talking about her....
      There's something about these superstars that's not normal. It's like they were BORN TO BE FAMOUS and they've heavily focused on creating a legacy, a impression on people that will be remembered 100 years from now as well.
      I have seen these people blow up when i was a kid, and my sis has seen MJ, Madonna and Whitney blow up when they blew up, and when this was happening, it was evident that they will be remembered till the end of time.

    She was always creative, talented and hardworking. No one wanted to give her a chance. And Emails was such a good album and a massive improvement. 4 songs out of that album could have been HITS, if someone cared to give her a chance and listen!!!! But then again, Fame is a fickle thing, and I’m just glad she’s got her true fans and true listeners supporting her. That’s what matters most honestly.

    Another major factor in her success is she has PERSONALITY. Right now, pop music is in desperate need of clearly defined characters like Lady Gaga. That's part of why Chappell Roan is taking off; she's genuinely unique and has a POV. So does Taylor. Sabrina has nailed an iconic look that works for her and is replicable. She has figured out her brand perfectly and she's smart and funny. Tate, as much as I like her, doesn't connect to her audience in that way.

    If you're going to try capitalizing on the Sabrina hype the least you could do is get your facts right from the beginning.
    Espresso was not her first time appearing on the Hot 100. You introduced it that way before touching on Nonsense (one of the biggest reasons why she she's where she is today) and even Feather, which has already been charting for more than 30 weeks now despite being released over a year ago.
    She never said Skin was a diss track and she was simply trying to complete her narrative, not only after getting so many death threats and slutshaming and harassment as well as people asking for her side of the story, but acting as if she was merely trying to profit off of drama and not defend herself from the literal stalking she was receiving in public because people made her the villain in that song is very much an understatement.
    Let's also not give too much credit to the car song "reviving" her career because acting as if Joshua (the actual flop of this video) was the only one who received negative repercussions is revisionist history at its peak. January 9th catapulted Sabrina into a year long hate train. Long before Skin, she was trending worldwide and getting harassed in real life and offline because of the blonde lyric. She wasn't able to post pictures or videos without the harassment, not even on her birthday. She ended up having to move Emails I Can't Send, which was originally set to release in 2021, to 2022 because of how much harassment she was getting.
    The actual shift only had inklings of happening once Emails I Can't Send was released over a year later and she wasn't able to be in the general public's good graces until after the Nonsense outros started going viral from the 2022 Emails I Can't Send tour, resulting in Nonsense being her first chart entry for the album and going platinum 4 months later, before the Eras tour at that.
    I would also hesitate on trying to give the Eras tour too much credit for her pre-Espresso chart entries because it makes no sense that she's the only anomaly to actually gain success from the tour. Gayle didn't chart despite being one of the first openers. It did nothing for BoyGenius or Haim. Gracie only saw a chart entry after getting Taylor to collab on her album, but before then, despite playing 32 shows, she saw 0 of the chart nor streaming success that Sabrina did. So I'm saying all that to say that opening for the tour is practically useless unless you one, have the It Factor (which, yes, Sabrina's always had despite you claiming otherwise. She just had poor management. Not poor songs), and two, enough fans on your own so you don't have to rely on sympathy from Swifties who only really care about Taylor at the end of the day.

      Exactly the fact that after she reaped all because I liked a boy ppl got her side of the story and understood her and the hate train slowly came down .
      And the eras tour definitely helpers in expanding her fan base at the same time the fan base is definitely similar in a way . She has the feminine fun energy going on for her that does show in her music and performance too which ppl like .

      @ScandalousMediaTea  5 месяцев назад +7

      ... what? It's hard to reply back to comments like these that mention things that I didn't even say in the video.
      1. I made it very clear that Skin was her first Billboard ENTRY, not Espresso
      2. I included a screenshot of her full quote about Skin being a diss track so you're just repeating info at this point
      Everything you said in your comment is subjective. You are entitled to your own belief but statistics show that the drama helped her career wise (that's not a bad thing). I don't even disagree with your comment as I stated in my video that a multitude of things helped Sabrina finally breakout into the mainstream space. Numbers > your fan opinion

    I’ve been a fan of Sabrina since “Girl Meets World” & never fell off. When the drama went down I was in the trenches defending her. So I’ve been here since 2014 waiting for this blow up in her career. First it was “I’m listening to Sabrina Carpenter” & people would be like “Who?” Now it’s like “I’m listening to Sabrina Carpenter” & people r like “O the nasty ‘Nonsense’ girl. The ‘Cause I’m a singer’ girl. O yeah I like her”

    You know what I find interesting.. during the love triangle drama... Olivia got most of her support from toxic swifties because Olivia claimed to be a swiftie herself, now we have reached a point in the music industry where Olivia has a very complicated business relationship with Taylor over things like music rights and credit whereas now Sabrina opened up for Taylor on Tour (and I haven't heard a peep about Olivia) and its very much likely that the same people who sent Sabrina hate and threats are the same people who now love her and new sound and brand... and to be honest I see Sabrina and Taylor's relationship only blossoming in the further because a) their sounds a different b) they are both are what I like to call "Industry smart" whereas Olivia did not have time to become 'industry smart' because she was an overnight success... can you make a video about this whole theory perhaps

    Smart analysis, I was curious about Sabrina's journey in music - since I didn't know her back in the Disney days - and you explained it really well, thanks!💓☕🥰
    Personally I've noticed her thanks to her old cool underrated single Paris (maybe also being European😉🇪🇺), from the Singular Act I album, followed by Sue Me: I think that era was what marked her change both visual & musical...
    So I was wishing for a stronger hit that could make her big, & finally Espresso was just what Sabrina needed to release, yay❣️💎👏
    She's got velvet voice, beauty, class, humour, a vintage American diva style & a friend like Taylor, I agree with you, it's def her chance to shine like a star then❕🎶💛💃🌸🍒🪩🪽🌟
    PS-Besides you mentioned Katy Perry's own rollercoaster career, I'd like for you to dive more into it please, since it's another fascinating case...keep this hot tea coming, cheers ciao!😎🪭🍵🎀👋

    Something about Sabrina Carpenter simply does not make any sense to me. She very much seems to be pushed on to the public by the industry and were forced to call her a “pop princess”. I personally don’t think she’s an industry plant since she’s been in the industry for over 10 years and has been slowly rising but I do think her being so pushed is strange. It seemed like she was going up steadily so she would’ve gotten there eventually but the drama with Olivia made her very popular and the tour with Taylor made swifties be her fans and we know how swifities are so I’m not too surprised she’s getting so popular and being called a “pop princess”

    • @ScandalousMediaTea
      @ScandalousMediaTea  6 месяцев назад +18

      Definitely not an industry plant but I get what you mean about her being the new pop princess. I actually agree despite my title 😂 it takes a lot to be called prince or princess of anything. The real test comes to album sales, tour gross, and longevity. She’s definitely in that transition part of her career going from Disney gal to pop girl

    • @RonyChatter
      @RonyChatter 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@ScandalousMediaTea She isn't an industry plant but it's obvious that some industry insiders and powerful people have pumped a lot of money into her career. She was on endless interviews, radio stations, performances and even tours while her music wasn't even selling. It's not normal for an artist to be this confident about their success when u have no ACTUAL HITS to support such huge events.
      And those industry connections + meeting many people/ increasing her contacts while being on Swift's tour is the FORMULA FOR SUCCESS. It has taken many different versions of Sabrina Carpenter that were tried and tested to finally get her in this place.

    Normani did get injured before the BET awards. There's a photo of her foot in a cast, and she explains what happened. Let's give her grace for that at least.

    • @ScandalousMediaTea

      I'm sure she got injured, it's just bad timing on her part bc fans were already fed up by that point. it was the final straw and she doesn't owe a performance to anyone but had she performed in a cast or whatnot like stars before her, that would have helped her. again, she doesn't owe anyone anything but as we saw from this video, you have to capitalize FAST or ur time will be up
