    Another fabulous creation!!! Your journals are made with a great deal of love for the materials you use, which is one of the things that makes them so special; your care and consideration for the people for whom they're made is another reason they're so beautiful. You endeavor to teach as well, and that is what life is about--sharing and passing on information without which humanity would not have evolved in the arts. You are gracious in your attribution and thanks to those who have inspired you, and, of course, your sense of style, color, and composition and your boundless talent all contribute to these works of art. You are unique in all the world.
    You said at the beginning that you were going to go through quickly as though you had some criticism or self-criticism about taking so long to present your journals in your videos; please know that your videos are an oasis of magic time in an unmagical and unforgiving world to which some look forward as much as they look forward to seeing your new journals. Please restore JibidWorld and don't rush through!!!

    Hello Jibid. Wow! I could watch this over and over just for the sheer delight of seeing something beautiful and interesting. In the U.S. we had the saying "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." Truth be told some of us still live by the adage - hence, as you said, JJ's fit right in with that thinking!

    Love this because my mom was Meritta Frances and my granddaughter is named after her and goes by Merri Frances and I bought her a vintage sewing machine and that book you used called Mary Frances. The patterns you put on tracing paper look like dresses my mom sewed and wore in the 60's. She taught me to love sewing and I love junk journaling with sewing and laces today. I like the addition of the botanical prints with buttons and pressed flowers and leaves along with the sewing paper. You always inspire and I got many ideas from this journal. Love the story of the Tailor of Glousterchire (?) and his silk, the little charm was perfect.

      I just moved house so I've had an upside down life for a couple of months with all my craft supplies packed away. I just yesterday decided to make some resined papers to get in practice for making some Christmas jewelry. I resined Japanese origami papers and tissue with stamping. Another great idea for journals if I may say so. lol The Tailor was one of the stories I read to my daughter when she was little and now that she's 36 she tells me it was boring! I enjoyed it anyway and I always tried to speak mouse on the "no more twist" lines.lol

      I have not but I will now, thank you. Do you like your color laser? Would you recommend it? I've no experience with color laser not sure what to look for.

    • @jibidneary2212
      @jibidneary2212  7 лет назад

      Cat Mil I do recommend laser yes, but ink can be super expensive. One piece if advise I will highly recommend is: when you are ready to buy or compare a few models, make sure you look at the price of replacement ink, they vary A LOT. This is a much more important factor even than the price of the printer. Replacement inks can vary from £15 - £150. But I believe the print quality is superior, although, they won't print on photo paper. Thanks again for watching hun x

    You certainly know how to brighten up a rainy Sunday afternoon or even out dazzle a sunny one :-) I have loved watching this especially as the Make Do and Mend is one of my favourite periods. I was a 1950's baby and was brought up in a dressmaking household. Both my mum and her unmarried sister who lived with us were dressmakers. Your journals always manage to take you on a magic carpet trip to the very place they feature, a bit like Enid Blyton's Magic Faraway Tree. Can I please ask you where you got those pretty cross stitch holes tags from? I saw them in a previous journal and couldn't find them anywhere online. Also, do you buy your lovely charms online> I love the little silk thread holder and the tape measure.

      Angela Sweby hi angela, that is so very kind of you, thankyou dear. The charms i use are almost always eBay yes. The tags I actually got on a local market stall, there only seems to be one similar thing on eBay.co.uk "cross stitch message card tag", if you wanted to send me your postal address through my etsy shop I could send you a few of the brown ones xx

      Purple Pixie thankyou so much hun, yes often takes many long hours but the long waiting list actually helps because it means I have plenty of time to look out for things, and pick up little bits n bobs as I see them. Having said that, I didn't really need to research Beatrix potter because I used to read them so often to my children, the tailor of Gloucester was a favourite. I just needed to recheck on the 'keys', I was sure they were mentioned somewhere, so glad when I found that they were lol because that charm was too cute ;) thankyou for your kind words x

      Hmm, I still haven't timed it exactly, but it is a minimum 70 hours for large journals. This was about 40? for an insert size. I work very long days (because of obsessive personality lol) so I can fit it into about ten days. I did make the mistake of filling too much of my time with orders but I have just reached the point in the year's calendar where I was able to balance it better and I am beginning to relax again, and work on some other bits. So far have managed to keep to quoted dates for each order, so that's been good. You are sweet to think of me in that way, thankyou so much for your kind words xx

      Jibid Neary that's fab that you managed to meet all your deadlines. Yes I know what you mean about fixating on them; I can just imagine really getting into the theme and flow of them and the ideas floating round your imagination and working out how to bring them to life. I see the bagpuss mice all scurrying round doing their little jobs plus the fairy godmothers from sleeping beauty swishing their little wands, weaving their magical creations, when I think of what you do. It must be hard to focus on everyday tasks when you get stuck in! I work creatively best at night.
      I think 70 hours is still bloody fantastic for how much relevant detail you put in.
      So enjoying your work. Give yourself some gold stars xxx Tfs xx

    As usual this is soooo amazing!!...Jibid, how thick or heavy is your tracing paper? It looks much thicker than what I have seen in the U.S. Is it an artist grade or special drafting type?

    • @jibidneary2212
      @jibidneary2212  7 лет назад

      Nancy LeMieux i hi Nancy, I use different ones, usually from stationery/craft shops, its not special, just whatever they have, I keep a few different varieties because of the different thicknesses. You can sometimes get labels for 'high transparency'. Some are more opaque than others, and strangely, it doesn't always go off the gsm rate. The ones I have average 50-60 gsm. It is just worth trying what is locally available to you. Are you in Britain? I can give you shop names...

      Nancy LeMieux oh sorry, no you are in the US, so just trial and error I suppose, hope you find what you are looking for x

    Beautiful journal!!! You are very creative - however your audio was so low I couldn't hear what you said :-(. Hope you can mic up, if you are like me you just have a soft voice!! Look forward to seeing more of your great work!!

      Donelle Miller thankyou so much donelle, I'm glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, the sound is horrible, I'm so sorry, it is the best I can manage with my current setup. Some have said its better on a PC or external speaker or headphones. I have been trying to get a mic set up but I seem to keep buying the wrong thing, I hope to improve it soon x

    I have a little hint for you that I saw on Craftyirina's vid I believe. She uses a magnet on one page and a small washer from the hardware store on the other, which would make your magnets last twice as long. Hope this helps. oxo
