I empathize with your statement of being controlled in your artistry. I love the simplicity of your style. I also marvel at those artists such Sigita et al who are able to make complex designs look so effortless and seamless. Have a lovely day!
Oh My, I love all your beautiful botanical tags. Every one has a life of its own. How adorable is that. Love the whirly noise in background too. Just adds whimsy whilst dreaming of nature. Isn't creation magical!
Fabulous tags and notebooks Jibid! What an inspiration you are. I live in a cabin in the woods and after watching and rewatching your videos, I cannot walk past the trees without snipping samples of ferns and plants to identify and press. You are positively contagious! Thank you for taking the time to share your amazing work and thought processes. You have altered my perspective. Big hugs! Liz :-)
I'm not surprised at all that one artist enjoys the work of another. I enjoy a variety of artist styles; yours, Sagita’s, Michelle’s, Eve’s, Nazzy’s and Cheryl’s to name a few. All very different and unique styles bringing an amazing variety to the eye and feel. For me, each of these journals is a unique one-of-a-kind work of art and although we can view the videos over again, the piece cannot be duplicated. A true artist can appreciate the beauty of all styles. Kudos and as always, TYFS.
I love your quirky approach. No-one could be offended. Theses tag sets are so stunning in reality and make a wonderful addition to a book, a journal, a card or as I have some on display. They always attract comments.
All your work is beautiful; botanical art at it's best!!! Your eco-dyes are stunning! They remind me of my college days creating art and purusing the art galleries. Sigh, I need to get back in the art world.
Jibid, you are so amazing and inspire so many people. Just today, I asked two different people about purchasing their journals. I collect journals. My feeling about it is this: how many books are too many? Libraries are filled with them. Why would journals be any different? Each and every one of them is a unique work of art. I collect art in all forms and books of all manner of topics. I was raised to appreciate both books and art in it's many forms. This community of artists, artisans and crafters (who are artists even though many don't consider themselves as such) is filled with a never ending source of inspiration and beauty. And some of the kindest, generous souls you would ever hope to meet. I grew up pressing different types of flora. I have many of fond memories of collecting expeditions with my school mates and with my family. I'm a Native American and plants have always been a very, very important part of our lives. So I really admire the way that you create art through the use of plants and flowers. Thank you for the information about printers. I have a love/hate relationship with printers. Which is ironic since I worked with computers and printers almost my entire work history. I am so inspired when I see and hear this community lift each other up and encourage others to visit someone else's channel or blog. Thank you for making this and all your other videos. I know it takes a lot of time and effort and I appreciate everyone who makes videos.
Kateri Cochran hi kateri, that is a lovely perspective on books and art, thankyou for that, it really gives me a lift to hear that people are taking an interest in nature and their surroundings, we really have so much to learn, thankyou for the inspiration xx
Sweet Jibid, nothing you can ever say would be offensive! Your pages are by far the best in decoration :) these tag sets are marvelous and beautiful works of art!
Im sure you likely know already but in just in case let me share with you a hack for static on plastic or glass. Its using a dryer sheet and just rubbing it across a few times. There may be dust to blow off but the anti static remains for quite some time. In peace,Donna
Your Tags are beautiful. I am a huge fan of your work. I enjoy seeing your videos and always look forward to seeing each one. Thank you for the printer information I learned something new.
How very charming your designs! I love them ALL. My two top favourites are the combo-half acetate, eco-dyed, machine stitched, fabric stamped, paperclips & charms! O, I'm sorry...did I say TWO?! How very silly of me...I love em EACH! ~🌱X🌸🌿X~
Another creative and informative video Jibid, thank you! I chatted about ink jet printers vs laser recently as well. My next big purchase will be a color laser printer. It will be nice to stain already color printed paper instead of coffee painting. Loved your wee journals and tags! So awesome! ❤️
Oh Jibid, you know how much I love your work. You always manage to do something new with your creations. Lovely new sets! Tfs 😀💕 I totally agree about Sigita's work, I'm the same way, I am too structured, truly love her style.
Oh, Jibid. Those "blank pages" are still a lot of work. Your fellow journalers are all nodding their heads wishing for self-tea-staining paper. ;-) "A digital slap." Ha! "Nature isn't just beautiful, even in small doses it changes the way we feel." Whose quote is this? LOVE it! LOVE DeliGirl1961! And yes, that's what she says about inkjet printers. Staci Capenter says the same thing about laser printers. Wendy at Wendy's Journal Adventure just did a quick tutorial on how to add tea staining after inkjet printing. Very clever for those of us with inkjets! LOVE Segita! "Amazing style, makes things look effortless, as if it's organic and just appeared by itself, use of colours, where she puts things on pages" are all things that I appreciate about YOU! The word I always think of with your work is EXQUISITE. LOVE everything you do!
labyrinthrockgal you are always so sweet and kind, thankyou so much, I wasn't, in the past, able to find who that quote was from, the closest I got was an advertising campaign, so I am using it for now ;) xx
i so love the tags and the notebooks. I started out doing pressed flowers, so always love to see someone else using them, i absolutely love sigita's work, hugs sara
I spray my images that I print with an ink jet with Krylon Preserve. It's a digital and paper protectant. Probably won't work for tea dyeing but works great for decoupage or inking over.
These are fascinating and so beautiful!!! Love love love. Someone will likely ask for a scanned version : ))) They are gorgeous Jibid and such a unique element to add to journals. xxRenee
Omg Jibid you are a wizard! What you do is so inspiring and SO beautiful! The tags are gorgeous!!! I am blown away and so jealous! :) And that page with a Forget me not between acetate is absolutely AMAZING!!! Everything is so well made, very delicate and now I can't find another word to describe how your work makes me feel. Also, my Eco dyed fabric never looks so gorgeous!
Hi Hunni. :) I hope You're doing well? This is a long but relevant paragraph lol In response to Your last section, I frequently tea/coffee dye the backs of the pages I print from My ink jet & I often usually dry them in the oven. I now favor the oven over My heat-tool for matte photo papers & this is a recent change (but I always dry the images face down on the parchment.) So far My inks have never run. One thing I mentioned to Cheryl (Delygirl) was not to put tea/coffee-dyed papers into Her ink-jet & In Your case, this is even more important. The coffee/tea will dirty not only dirty the rollers but the lens & Your printer won't last You very long. Also never put glassine or any type of vellum that hasn't specifically been listed as having been manufactured specifically for use in a Laser printer. You only get so many shots at it before the laser melts it & the melted plastic or coating sticks to the rollers & will likely also damage the lens. Once the lens is coated it's bye-bye printer. This was heavily emphasized to Me by a good friend who owns a local print & copy shop. He uses only lasers & warned Me about the dangers of what You put into a Laser printer likewise an ink jet but it's more catastrophic with a laser printer. Big {{ Hugs }} xx
+Jibid Neary No problem Hun. I used to put tea dyed paper in My printer but it started making a noise like it was struggling with the paper so I stopped & asked My Friend. I cleaned the heads & now If I digital stamp or print just a small clip art in bright colors & don't want the tea to spoil the design I actually hand brush the tea very carefully around it now. It's a little extra work but I find it therapeutic (or so I tell Myself ;) lol) x
I didn't find it offensive, Jibid. I love all your botanical & woodland tags, they are so beautiful and unique. I agree with you, Sigita is so talented. And I know you are as well. I have a few journals from others and love them. I know a lot of us own journals from other makers. They are a joy to have. Debbie :)
Such beautiful notebooks and tags!! Brilliant! As always! "You can't always get what you want . . . " Ironically, I'm trying to be more like you and less like Sigita. Don't misunderstand--I love Sigita's work and mine is certainly not as good as hers, but I do have the ripped page and over-inked tendency, which I can't seem to control, and have been studying your work to develop a more orderly style. :) Your influence is vast--everywhere I look, I see a sudden surge in nature and botanical work. Including my own!!
Love everything! I can’t find your artist friends channel. I’m not spelling her name correctly. Sage Tao Coffee Stains? I keep finding videos on getting coffee stains out! 😂
Jibid, your work is so beautiful. You, Nik the Booksmith, Mrs Cog, and many more are so inspirational. I would like a link to Sikita's page, please. My mother-in-law has just been diagnosed with cancer and I so want to make her a journal for Christmas. Thanks for the inspiration.
Dear Jibid..you are fantastic..everything you create is amazing and I can't imagine (and I've tried) what you said in explaining "blank pages" in your last video could be "offensive"...people..for the love of pete....this woman is sharing AMAZING art...I absolutely thank you for sharing what you make..explaining your technique (which is so beautiful) and inspiring us...those viewers who are offended...I'm going to have to bring them some cookies..maybe that'll cheer them up! ;) xo ps: once again...these tags Rock!!!
Hooligan Momma haha, you are so lovely HM, nobody said anything, I just thought it sounded off when I heard the playback lol, sooo... since all those cookies are now going spare..... ;) xx
Ha!!! I just felt the need to defend you...honestly...everything you make and share I absolutely devour with a spoon!! If I lived closer..I'd be bringing you the cookies!!! :) xo
Help! I just discovered Jibid and can’t get her amazing ideas out of my head. I wrote 3 pages of notes watching her last video (today is 8/18/18). I thought she mentioned somewhere that there are classes to purchase?
fllini99 aww hiw sweet of you! If feels lovely to inspire somebody like that. I dint do classes sorry, i have one tutorial only which is about my inked pages with plant transfers. Welcome to my channel and happy crafting x
Your work is divine. Also, that is the exact reason why I purchase work from other journal artists. I am in an art class to help me work at being more free with my art. I am not sure if a person can change their art style.
Always love to watch your botanical items- love them love them! :) I think I heard you say you can't print acetate on a laser printer...? You certainly can :) you just have to use the acetate that can take the heat -- there's different qualities on these too so you should check it out and you'll be able to print gorgeous super sharp prints on acetate- you'll love it ;) hugs- Wenche
Do you find the laser printers are expensive to use? How often do you change the toner cartridge when crafting? Do you have a colour one or is it black and white? Just heard your reply, thank you x
Hallo Jibid , just the way you work is the way I like it so much , it is the way I did it in my work . I hope you can understand What I mean ? Love Rini.
