The golden years of the Ottoman Empire come to life in a television series. The life of Suleiman the Magnificent is preparing to be a guest in your homes in all its glory. Get ready to experience the era with ambition, loves, wars and all the struggle.
Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.
Şehzade Süleyman, en yakın adamı Pargalı İbrahim ile birlikte çıktığı bir avda alır kötü haberi. Babası Yavuz Sultan Selim Han vefat etmiştir. Şehzade Süleyman hiç beklemeden, İstanbul’a doğru yola çıkar. Şehzade Süleyman hızla payitahta ulaşır. Hiç beklemeden cülus törenine katılır. Bir günde hayatı değişmiş. Sultan Süleyman olarak padişahlık hayatına başlamıştır.
Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

Suleiman even gave Mihrimah's daughter a title Sultan. None of the daughters of Sultans' (not just Suleiman's) daughters got that title, only daughters of Sultan's sons and of course Mihrimah's daughter as exception
Mihirmah was the strongest bond between Suleiman and hurrem...no matter how important sons were for ottoman empire but daughter held a spcl place in Suleiman heart
Love how Mihirma was always the Sultan's little princess and he always prioritized her. Despite her being a girl. But he was indeed her only princess
Historically, he had another daughter, along with two sons older than Mustafa, who sadly died not long after he took the throne of smallpox. I wish, in a way, that they'd included it in the series, if not for it being a good way to narratively introduce Hurrem, but that scenes like this one would have been so much more heightened emotionally.

This is why sultan suleyman loving his daughter is lovely. Looking from that time's perspective he didn't consider his daughter a burden which shows his love for her.

I totally agree! Also with Cihangir because, due to his problem, he wasn't a threat to Suleyman. Both Hurrem and Suleyman loved him a lot and, as we can see in the series, Hurrem used to give him more attention, because she considered herself responsible of his disability 😪

When I first watched the show, I thought that both Hurrem and Mahidevran was evil but now looking back I think Sultan was the real evil in the story. He made Hurrem and Mahidevran do stupid things. He came running for his daughter but didn't allowed Hurrem to meet her sons. Now why wouldn't someone think of negative plans when they are treated like Hurrem

Regardless of how power hungry Hurrem was and all her evil plans against her enemies, she was a great mother and truly cared for her children.

I like all cast's acting, though Mahidevran could have done with less childish behavior since the real woman was a lovely woman though she was still rival to Hurrem who would marry Suleyman only after Valide had passed on, per her wishes that they could only marry after her passing.

Suleiman the Magnificent changed a lot of things that went down in history. The show is good but it added some drama, in reality he was ever faithful to Hurrem. You might call him a "simp" in this generation haha. But he didn't care about that and put Hurrem in high regards and loved their daughter so much. He would destroy the world for his princess. As we know, those times sons are more prioritized but Mihirma made a big difference as she was Suleiman's world after Hurrem ofc.

It's unknown who the mother of Suleiman's other daughter was, but there aren't any sources out there that show he didn't love her! Raziye, the probable other daughter, died along with Suleiman's other two sons of a smallpox outbreak not long after he took the throne. If anything her early loss was probably what made Suleiman treasure Mihrimah even more.
Mahidevra only had Mustafa. She did had a miscarriage after Mustafa though but she couldn’t have that child anyways because the law was “one concubine one child”. The daughter that you’re talking about is probably Raziye Sultan who was born from another concubine and died when Suleiman ascended the throne.

Hurrem's definitely *not* using her here. If you've been around kids, they will make themselves sick over almost anything. Or, even if Mihrimah *is* faking ill, it's her own choice as a child, not Hurrem's. We don't see anywhere here Hurrem going, "Okay, now play sick so your father will love you again." Luckily, none of the mothers in this show are ever cruel enough to do that.
(Side note: Mustafa's illness also aided Mahidevran in allowing her to stay in the palace and in bringing Suleiman back to her side. Was that her using Msutafa's "fake" illness too?)
What are you talking about? Mihrimah's actually ill here; the doctor examined her. If Hurrem were to do something like that she'd probably fake own illness as young children are horrible secret keepers and Hurrem doesn't like it when her kids get too involved with palace intrigue such as the multiple times Hurrem told Mihrimah to be quiet and stay out of her arguments with Hatice. Also, Hurrem didn't really want Mihrimah to marry Rustem, Rustem forced Hurrem's hand, and Hurrem only ended up trying to convince Mihrimah after Bali Bey, who Mihrimah was in love with, told Hurrem he wasn't in love with Mihrimah. Also, Suleyman didn't really like the idea until Mihrimah agreed to the match, which she did, though she ended up regretting it because she agreed to it out of anger.
