The guests of all guests finally are here. This is just amazing. They have been involved in so many shows as writers before Smallville gig and it's just impressive.
They have really good energy and easy to listen to. I love it when they are in this podcast or Talkville. I'm excited for this weeks Talkville to hear both of them.
I am enjoying listening to this episode! I am learning so much about Miles and Al. Tim Burton definitely sounds like an interesting person. Best podcast ever!
I FN love these guys! I could listen to them 24/7. I just love hearing them talk shop, their process and the funny anecdotes. When they are on your Talkville pod it is just so interesting to hear the behind the scenes stuff. Thanks so much!
This was a fantastic and fun episode, Al & Miles are such great and knowledgeable guys, Wednesday is such a brilliant series (I've watched it twice) and I'm so glad it was a success for them, looking forward to season 2 !! 😄
Always love hearing what Al Gough and Miles Millar have to say on here or the Talkville podcast. They are always interesting to here and have great behind the scenes stories to tell. Plus, have created such amazing shows: Smallville, Wednesday.😀
So many great stories about Wednesday! It's so much fun hearing about the making of a show you love, about a character you love, involving so many creative people you love. Just great! Thank you, Michael!
What a great episode, Al and Miles were so engaging and the discussion between the three of you was exciting and informative and I absolutely love “Wednesday” and so glad for it’s overnight success, brilliant interview 🤩💖
Holy cow! Thanks for having the executive producers/series creators of Smallville on your podcast! I'm just now getting into the 9th season of Smallville on bluray!
This was so funny and comfy. It's like old friends just hanging out. Especially love moments when Michael asks or says something and Al and Miles goes "oh yeah, definitely" in unison 😂😂😂😂
Before I discovered Inside of You and Talkville, I had binged watched 10 seasons of Smallville in between kids and work. Albeit that I am Tom's age, I saw Smallville from a completely different perspective now, than I did in my 20's. So chuffed that you managed to get these awesome men on Inside of You, Michael. They are lovely and so interesting. Blessings! I love Talkville too.
Nice episode, has nice moments between the characters. Always love the Clark Lex scenes, specially how they evolve over the seasons. Keep up the great work !
Exciting Inside, Smallville is there and didn’t take à wrinkle !! ♥️ I loved hearing them talk about their collaboration with Tim Burton 👍 Rich Inside and rich Tuesday, thank you Michael and Ryan 💙💜
Great episode - always interesting and fun to listen to these two. Have been curious about what they will be up to ever since SHANGHAI NOON and finding SMALLVILLE in 2011 and am so glad they finally again have the success they deserve. I love WEDNESDAY, but it took me almost three months until I rewatched because it led me to a Swedish Netflix show that equally blew up globally, and I got lost in a Swedish rabbithole. So interesting to hear that Netflix was not only the only streamer interested in the show, but also so massively supportive - very good also for the rest of the world, as we could all watch simultaneously and not have to wait for the DVDs, as with SMALLVILLE. Netflix does so many interesting things that also bring the world together, as we all watch simultaneously - and great young actors' social media accounts blowing up to 2 million followers in a few weeks seems to be the rule now. From what I hear, at least Nordic Netflix does its best to prepare them for that and help them deal with it - 'be personal, but not private' seems good advice.
Thank you Michael! Love them! ❤ love the behind the scenes! I love Smallville/Talkville and my daughter loves Wednesday. Love it when you call Al on Talkville. ❤❤❤
That was a great one. I hope you have them back on again! They're your bosses but also your professional friends. I hope they come back and just do an in-depth Smallville or Talkville talk with you. I would love to hear about the beginnings of their careers, early struggles, early connections. I love what they said about you being right for the role of Lex Luthor- every episode, even ones where you're not happy with the writing for Lex, you always have that consistent character pain, these little beats and moments that are so right. I certainly hope you reprise your role as Lex Luthor, but perhaps on the silver screen. All the best, Michael & team! Thanks for another excellent one!
2 of the coolest people out there not only have they been part of so many amazing projects but they also both seem so kind and chill definitely the kind of people you'd want to have in a collaborative project. I actually haven't seen Wednesday yet but I just finished rewatching Smallville tonight, so now I've definitely got the time especially when it's from the same Creators of Smallville
This was great! I’ve watched Wednesday from beginning to end at least 9 times so far, so it was really fun to hear all the behind the scenes info of the whole process of getting it made. I only wish you’d asked them if Weems would be back in season 2. She’s my absolute favorite character so I’m crossing my fingers that she returns! ❤️
Great show again fellers. It was nice to see Mr. Gough and Millar together. And I hate to admit this but didn't know they were involved with Wednesday! Keep the great shows coming y'all
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice is still here lol! I am so happy Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder signed on to do another story for Beetlejuice.
I love the Tina Greer return episode! It's always fun when villains are brought back, and Tina has a menacing presence throughout the episode - she isn't just there for a battle, the episode makes her fun, threatening, entertainingly crazy, and memorable. It serves as a very perplexing mystery and interesting twist regarding Whitney's strange behaviour too. To me, Whitney is ultimately a minor supporting character, and didn't need a huge send-off. His father's funeral is grand because it depicts the unspoken interactions and consequently, the subtle, innate emotions and intentions of the characters at the funeral - We didn't know Whitney's father, we knew the situations modelled around his situation. Smallville is the first show to really have special effects that actually hold up for superhero TV, and it was very exciting due to that. I also enjoy how it works its way up to more substantial, intense situations, not having a "Big Bad per season" until later, as I've found that with shows like The Flash and Supergirl, that formula gets very old by the fourth season. Lionel and Lex are entrancing characters that always made the show feel worthwhile, even if a storyline or episode proved to be questionable in its content (I'm far more favourable in my reviews compared to Talkville by the way).
I am so happy to see Al and Miles on your show. They are so fun. Loved hearing all about Wednesday. Cannot wait for season 2. They are right Micheal I miss seeing you on shows. I akso agree you are a natural with the podcast. Thanks as always. Love inside of you and talkville!!!❤😊
Awesome compliment for @MichaelRosenbaum - He's the Stanley Kubrick of actors (translation: He's earned the right to choose what he wants, when he wants). NOICE
I was tremendously skeptical of "Smallville" when it first came out, and so I avoided the whole first year. But about halfway through Season 2, I became a loyal fan, and saw almost every episode after that multiple times. I bought the DVDs, and later the Blu-Rays. I've also been blessed enough to meet some of the actors, though not Michael as of yet. But it all started with Al & Miles...so thank you very much for interviewing them.
"Badlands" checked ALL the boxes; diverse cast, powerful women, and cut-yo-head-off-action scenes!!! BEST SERIES EVER!!!! Tie it all up, with a 2-3 hour movie, FOR THE FANS GENTS!!!!!!😁
Love this episode. I think the way you give us an insight into the real workings of Holywood is truly unique. Random non sequitur.. As a UK viewer I can't get over how much Miles' voice and mannerisms remind me of Ed Miliband (ex Labour Leader) ☺️.
Wednesday is such a great show 🎉 A huge thank you for getting Tim to do a series. I feel so incredibly lucky to have an entire TV show of his work, he's my favorite Director 🙏🙏🙏 As a creation, it's genius! Bravo for making it so fun and entertaining and at the same time an empowering character for young people especially girls to enjoy ❤ Me and my Dad loved the Adams family so much as I was growing up. Debbie was our favorite!! We used to watch it alot. When Wednesday came out it was such a delight getting to enjoy it all over again in a really cool new way together, now that I'm 30yrs old. Thank you for doing it justice and then some 🙌🙌🙌 love from Ireland, Wicklow, where Season 2 is currently filming down the road from me ❤ (part of the set that we saw is huge and incredible) Also I adore Fred, thank you for casting him 💪❤️
Awesome episode!! Go Michael! Go Al! Go Ryan! Go Miles,.. coming in with Superman blue socks!Miles rules 4that! 💙💛♥️ Thanks also to Bryce and Jason for being awesome! Love and respect to the entire "Inside of You" Crew And all the patreons who have actual money and contribute to the longevity of the pod🤟 Jason (3 hour question)🤣 from Pittsburgh
Loved this episode, so glad you brought them back Al & Miles to talk about Wednesday. I been watching Wednesday with my granddaughter and we both love the show. Can’t wait for season Two and Beetlejuice to come out. Michael you Rock!!!
There aren't too many things that would make me happier than a 'Smallville' reboot... w/the original cast, of course! I guess I'd settle for the animated series, if that's still even in the works🤞🏼
This was a great podcast episode, but I got excited when you spoke about the Tidewater Comic Con in Virginia Beach since that’s where I live. Definitely gonna attend to see you and Tom. While you’re in Virginia Beach, you should definitely come by our store, the Virginia Beach Antique Mall / The Toymeister. We are the largest toy store on the east coast and you will not be disappointed. Take care and I’ll see you at the Con in a few weeks.
45:42 I think I get it; you've got two TV directors who's last two shows were not smashing hits and a famed movie director whose last movies also bombed in many ways, so I don't know if I would go for it. The concept itself sounds like it could definitely fail if the tone was just a bit off and from what I hear some parts were just held together by Jenna being stubborn (in a good way) and refusing to let the show be off key which no one could have predicted really.
I've said it before and will continue to. I would love to have Michael narrate the audiobooks for my horror/thriller series. He would be perfect and would love to have him do that!
Really loved Wednesday, I remember all the marketing and hype being that it was a Tim Burton project and didn't see G&M mentioned so I didn't even know it was their show until I spotted the Easter egg of their names on a window when Wednesday is arriving at the therapist's office and thought to Google it
I'm curious if they had ever heard of the Adult Wednesday Addams RUclips series. I know she got shut down from doing further episodes by the IP owner. I love that Al made a Ladyhawke reference!
I agree with micheal. I hate complaining when it comes to arranging and hanging out with friends. I didn't realize that streaming shows takes up to a year to film.
This was a GREAT interview!!!! The guests are great. Thank you, it was a treat. Thanks for asking great questions! I wish this was a 4 hour interview! Best parts are the questions about Smallville. I stopped watching Smallville after Lex and Lana brokeup. I wish someone would ask about the Lex and Lana relationship. Did they plan on breaking them up and was the fake pregnancy always the writers plan?
What an informative episode i always love seeing people who’s work I’ve appreciated for years have success in other areas. But let’s not forget they’re responsible for one of the best comic book movies of all time even about 20 years later. Spider-Man 2. Im glad Wednesday is doing so well
Fantastic guests! I could watch dozens of hours of the three of you talking. If you can get Gwendolyn Christie on, that would be awesome! It would be extra awesome if you could get Christina Ricci on, that would be incredible!

Michael, I've always likened you to Bob Odenkirk in this way, which is why I think you'd kill it in a role like "Nobody"-the retired ex-hitman who brushes off his old skillset for some good ol' fashioned vengeance!
Michael. I'm hopeful the news that you are slated to play the role of Lex on a new Superman flick. You deserve that role. You play the most terrifying Lex Luthor ever. Good for you. You deserve this.

Fascinating! Love hearing about how the show Wednesday came about. Thanks for the amazing guests, interviews, and your kindness. You are the best ❤🙏.
Been listening to talkville every week since it started so it was great hearing from Al and Miles. Great episode!
Best episode EVER! Now we need Jeph Loeb episode. Thanks for coming on, creative force behind smallville.
This was a great episode. I'm so glad you had Al and Miles on. Three of the best parts of Smallville all in one room together! ❤
This was a fantastic and fun episode, Al & Miles are such great and knowledgeable guys, Wednesday is such a brilliant series (I've watched it twice) and I'm so glad it was a success for them, looking forward to season 2 !! 😄

Really enjoy listening to interviews of these two showrunners! Love learning about the show process!
Holy cow! Thanks for having the executive producers/series creators of Smallville on your podcast! I'm just now getting into the 9th season of Smallville on bluray!
I’ve been watching your podcasts for a couple months now and I must say this is one of the best. Great job Rosie and Ryan!

"You're like the Stanley Kubrick of ACTORS!!!"😭🤣😂😆👏👏👏
After finishing this episode I agree that Michael needs to be either on Wednesday or their other show. Inside of you is the best day of the week.
Really interesting to hear how episodic tv vs streaming TV is made. I’d never have the patience. Another winner, Mr. R! 🌹🌹🌹

So great hearing the BTS of doing a show, what Tim Burton is like, all of the details.
Awesome episode. Love hearing how all things come together!
Love this podcast. Love TalkVille. Can't wait to see you guys in Nashville in December.
My favourite episode has always been the 1st time Al and Miles were on!! Loved this episode too. Could listen to these 2 geniuses all day

This is epic sir! Loving this episode! Always wanted to hear from them! Love your podcast since beginning.! I might have to go patreon finally!
30:19 Dude, I friggin loved Into The Badlands. It’s what Iron Fist should’ve been.
I've been waiting for this episode. And it was just as good as I thought it'd be. In fact, it was better. Tremendously interesting people.
Awesome episode!

Very cool you got these guys on such great careers most people dont know about
Really great episode, I had no idea how hard it was to get Wednesday up and running.
Tuning in, and I hope Michael calls Al on his cell phone anyways to correct something about Smallville
Love this episode. I think the way you give us an insight into the real workings of Holywood is truly unique. Random non sequitur.. As a UK viewer I can't get over how much Miles' voice and mannerisms remind me of Ed Miliband (ex Labour Leader) ☺️.

@@moviesquad73 I got my granddaughter hooked on Smallville 😁

I guess I'd settle for the animated series, if that's still even in the works🤞🏼
My day is so much better just having the knowledge that a PIC of Tim Burrton with Alice Cooper at Dracula's castle exists.
Love this podcast 🫶
Watching this episode of Inside Of You, made me curious enough to check out the show Wednesday. 👍🏽
Another fantastic episode!
Great interview. 👍
Great listen/watch. I need to rewatch Wednesday now
Were you also down at the Hollywood Cemetery watch event with them? Must have been a great event. (Busy right now - will watch later).
Yes!!!!!! The OGs 🎉🎇🎆 Awesome episode Michael 💙🤘

its insane that these guys do not get enough credit
I'm curious if they had ever heard of the Adult Wednesday Addams RUclips series. I know she got shut down from doing further episodes by the IP owner. I love that Al made a Ladyhawke reference!
Here's a fun fact
It's called Wales comic con as used to take place in Wrexham Wales but now takes place on Telford England
I loved this episode. Thank you Rosenbaum
That name is grand! You da man! "INSIDE OF YOU!!"
Wistfulness was the key trait Michael was able to portray as a teenaged Lex Luthor.
What an informative episode i always love seeing people who’s work I’ve appreciated for years have success in other areas. But let’s not forget they’re responsible for one of the best comic book movies of all time even about 20 years later. Spider-Man 2. Im glad Wednesday is doing so well
Just finished listening on Spotify when I came across this video.
Fantastic guests! I could watch dozens of hours of the three of you talking. If you can get Gwendolyn Christie on, that would be awesome! It would be extra awesome if you could get Christina Ricci on, that would be incredible!
3 LEGENDS thats whats going on here :)
I think Al and Miles were spot on when they said that Michael, like Jenna, has that "innate" hint of darkness within them that nobody can act. It's either there or it isn't. Michael, I've always likened you to Bob Odenkirk in this way, which is why I think you'd kill it in a role like "Nobody"-the retired ex-hitman who brushes off his old skillset for some good ol' fashioned vengeance!
have brian and/or kelly ever been on talkville? i would love to hear their experiences of taking over the show
Is there a way to find the older podcast these guys were on? I’ve gone back in the videos but it starts around episode 96.
Michael. I'm hopeful the news that you are slated to play the role of Lex on a new Superman flick. You deserve that role. You play the most terrifying Lex Luthor ever. Good for you. You deserve this.
I am now on season 5 of Smallville, and this is the farthest in the series I’ve gotten since like 2008! 8th grade lol. This show is even better now that I’m older. I love the early 00’s drama and music.
Keep watching until the end. It gets very interesting. I'm 68 now and have watched the series several times. It never gets old.
Season 5 😍 Smallville at its finest! Such a great series!
Sounds like your making fun of it
