I am really loving the more natural, neutral looks on you. I know you weren't excited about the eye shadows, but I loved the look you got out of it. But, yes, you could probably achieve the look with a much less expensive eye shadow. Thanks for sharing this, and hope you all have a wonderful weekend 😊😊😊.
Completely agree. I just left a comment about how I love her with a more natural lip, especially with just the ysl balm on. I know she loves the vampy lips but I've never been a huge fan of them on her. And yes her eyes look amazing too.
@Mirage Sur I'll admit I though it might be too much at first (at least compared to what I use) but by the end I felt like it all worked. She's always done her blush different to me even though I have a similar face shape, and even cheeks to her. (I don't bring mine as low or as close to the nose) but everybody has different preferences and she always looks great.
Would you consider doing an affordable “similar products” video to pair with this one? It doesn’t have to be exact dupes, but since you mentioned that you may not need the CT quad for a glossy lid, for example, could you offer some products that give that effect? Or blushes that are better but similar in tone or texture to the tarte? Or maybe a matte concealer that you prefer over the fenty? I always like that in videos that discuss luxury products. I’m not against buying a high end or luxury product, but I want to know that’s its special enough to warrant that price tag, and as you mentioned, many of these don’t seem to be that different from something you could get at a lower price. Not that they aren’t good-you look beautiful!-but what are other options?
I was thinking the same thing. I'm never going to buy luxury items because I can't afford them and the drugstore versions are comparable; I'm just not going to pay 3X the price for the same look. 😉
There's something to be said about Charlotte Tilbury- it my not be super exciting but man, you looked gorgeous(you always do though) but in such a natural glamorous way! Thanks for your review 😻
I know a lot of people are underwhelmed with the CT eye quads but honestly I think every time I’ve seen a video with them being used I think the end look is so beautiful! I am definitely interested in trying one for a solid every day eye look!
I know this is probably so inconsequential to what people usually care about on YT, but I love how you call it a “ZIT” & not a “blemish” like a normal person 😂 thanks for always keeping it real, Emily. Love your channel so much!
See I'm the opposite. I HATE the word zit. Ughhh! At least say pimple. A blemish is the proper way to say it in actuality like when talking to people you don't know well or for this instance YT'ers.
Emily, I loved that glossy taupe shade in the Tilbury quad. Will you accept the challenge of finding dupes for that quad? I'll buy it, but if there are cheaper alternatives I am all about it. Thanks for another great video!
Have you been to tj maxx lately? I was in there last night and couldn't believe everything I found from many higher end brands. I got 4 of the stila shimmer liquid eyeshadows for 7.99 each. Too faced cocoa contour & highlight palette for 19.99. Glamglow mask for 34.99. ABH 3 pan blushes for 10.99 each. They had bare minerals, too faced eyeshadow palettes, loads of kat von d products, buxom lip products....... the list goes on. I was pleasantly surprised! They also had many great skin care products as well. Usually cosmetics at tj maxx are abused and I'm not able to buy many things but they had soooooo many great things from several brands. Can you see my excitement?? 🤣
Jessica Warfield , I went yesterday and had the same experience. I bought some of the stila shadows I don’t currently have, Kevyn Aucoins liquid candlelight and a few other things. Mine had a lot of MAC, ABH, KVD and Elizabeth Arden as well.
@@manderobinson8875 yes usually I'm not able to buy many things there bc everything has been touched or broken but yesterday I got very lucky! I grabbed everything while I could! I seen many brands that I've not seen there before too. Going to go back today and pick up the few things that I didn't get, regret quickly set in when I got home 🤞 If they are still there
@@jennifermayberry6200 usually my tj maxx is the same way. I live in kentucky. Very small town with no sephora so I do lots of online ordering or have to drive an hour to the nearest sephora.
I picked up a bare minerals blush in "confession." It's a dark peach. Five bucks because the top of the packaging was off. The blush was intact and not swatched. lol
Ooohhh girl I got that foundation a few days ago. Yesterday I ended up wearing it from 9:00 am to 2:00 am because we went to the movies last night and then my son got sick and I had to unexpectedly run to Walmart for some medicine and stuff. It still looked great at the end of the day! My skin type is very oily and it held up great. I did have to mix in a little L'Oréal True Match in a darker shade because the shade I got was I little too light. I'm in my mid-40's and it didn't settle into fine lines very much, maybe a little, but definitely better than a lot of other foundations I've tried. I've only worn it twice but so far I really, really like it. We'll see if that changes when summer comes around. I live on the southern edge of Central Texas so if it holds up well in our extreme heat and humidity it could possibly become my absolute favorite. We shall see.
Emily do you think you could find a dupe of that glossy Charlotte Tilbury shade? I think that shade looks beautiful but I’m not interested in the whole palette.
It reminds me of Urban Decay Stardust... before they reformulated and changed the name to Moondust. Not helpful unless you have one of those. But I'm searching through Colorpop to see if I find something similar.
Temptalia’s comparison database is where you want to go. I’m almost certain she has reviewed this quad, and she lists similar items to each shade she reviews. You can also choose shades to compare side by side.
I just got my Emily Edit The Wants palette yesterday and I am having so much fun playing. Corduroy , Prayer, Family, and Pi Phi are some of my favorites so far.
Yup! What goes up must come down! Emily’s cheeks are still in a good place though 🤣 But will NEVER understand the reasoning behind bronzer stripes under the cheekbones.
Always a pleasure to hear you review products as you apply them. Your skin looks like perfection. Hopefully you all will be celebrating all of birthdays soon. Happy birthday to Pup, and Tyler. Blessings, and love, Emily...MaryEllen
Cozied up with my coffee and was waiting for a video. -14 here this morning in MN and my daughter has strep. Thank you for adding some "Emily" to my morning. It was just what I needed! 😊
I’m always so jealous of your ability to pull of such a gorgeous blush look... I swear if I put on that much, I’d look crazy! And it just looks stunningggg on you! Maybe I just haven’t found the right shade yet ☺️ hope you’l guys are all staying warm!!
Yes! I love that blush placement! I do that all the time I think it looks really youthful. I’ve seen a lot of Korean youtubers who do that placement and I looks so pretty.
Good morning Emily! Thought this would make you smile: my 5yr old son helped me play around with The Wants pallet last night. He even “followed” your tutorial 😆😆. We recorded it so I can show it off when he’s older 😉😉😉.

I love you Emily. I've been in an out of the hospital, lost almost everything, and my Saturday morning chill with you makes me more happy and clam than I can understand.
I think an interesting video would be, picking a full face of makeup for a subscriber. So if you had to curate a full face of makeup for a subscriber, including tools. What would you choose? It's always a little different thought process than when you're picking for yourself. :) it doesn't have to be all luxury or drugstore, anything like that. Perhaps just a fair mix of both, if this was like a single haul for an entire year. I think you would be excellent for something like that.
Emily, try the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the shade “Sunkissed”. It has a slight reddish undertone. I’m curious to see if you think it is the same as the Doll 10 bronzer.
Hey! Just did the same eye look this morning using The Wants palette: Prayer - crease, Oh Heavens - inner corner on the lid, Cupcake - on the lid. I'm good. $53 saved. Thanks, Em 💜
OHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Yesssss! I seeee! That N.D. highlighter is indeed everything you’re saying! Your camera really picks up that truly wet/dewy appearance - something I need in a highlight. I’ll definitely be buying this. Thanks!
I can't get over how legit glossy that eyeshadow looks on your lids!! I love this soft look. It's like a bright, fresh, just-in-from-the-snow flush and I'm here for it!
That Bare Minerals foundation is my holy grail! It will stay on 16 hours when I’m at clinicals for nursing school while keeping me matte. Can be built up to almost full coverage so I rarely need concealer on any discoloration or blemishes. I cannot recommend enough!!
I don't own any of the CT quads (yet? I'm on a cream shadow binge) but what draws me to them is their simplicity rather than them being anything "exceptional." In a sea of gigantic rapid-fire warm toned palettes they're colors that play nice together and there are some decent neutral to cool toned options for the rest of us who get overwhelmed by big glitzy palettes.
I really love the “natural” eye look on you today. The subtleness of your eyes is very becoming and flattering. Love your new “technique” of the lip balm and lip liner. I’ll have to explore your technique as I’m a lippy girl. Buxom lip products are one my favorites especially in the shade “Dolly.”
I love love a reddish bronzer, especially in the summer. Becca bronzed bondi is my favorite. Maui nights is great for a slight sunburned look and works as a blush too.
Love your eye look. I am enjoying the CT products I have purchased including the Pillow Talk quad. It has become my travel companion because it is warm and rosy but natural. Thanks for a great video.
I am somewhat new to RUclips videos but I want to tell you how much I enjoy watching your channel. You appear so genuine and I love the help you give in your videos. You use the phrase “taking me to a happy place”. Watching your videos takes me to a happy place as well. Thank you.
I found the Almay Get up and Grow mascara at my local Walmart for $4 so I snagged it up.. it was $4. 😳. I haven’t tried it yet as I have a couple mascaras open, but I hope it’s a good one! Have a.blessed week!
Emily- Rhianna said if you leave the concealer to sit for 5 minutes before blending it achieves more coverage. I've tried it and it's a game changer for me (blue/brown under eyes)
Thanks for sharing about the Laura Mercier pressed version. I was looking for a product just like that. (I used to use something similar, but it was discontinue.) Thank you again for all your hard work!!!
I know this might come off alittle weird but i listen to Emily’s video every single night to go to sleep idk why her voice is so soothing to me and helps me fall asleep
I love that glossy brown from the quad! Anyone know of any single shadow dupes for it? PS Love the idea of adding lip liner on top of the balm-gloss! Might try that today :)
I think it would be a cool video to have your mom try newer hair stylist Instagram hair trends/techniques, like balayage or doing beachy/bed hair on you :)
I tried the YSL out in sephora, and it gave a cooling feeling and my lips felt sooo freaking good. But $40 is so much for a lip balm😩can't bring myself to buy it...perhaps one day il cave lol.
Happy birthday to Bub. I love the way your cheeks look. Can you do a video on highlighters that gives that wet look? Thanks in advance. I really appreciated your recommendations.
Heidi Ledford it didn’t work for me with a damp sponge. Like you said, it always looked heavy. I decluttered a deluxe sample after trying it for a week.
I've used Bare Minerals original foundation for 13 years and love it... I loved the look of the bare pro because it made my skin look amazing, but constantly chipped off my face... I loved using a damp sponge with it! I want to try it again now that I have a skincare that helped with my severely dry skin... at least none of the liquid foundations emphasized my dryness just had a hard time working! Now I want to try them again!
Good morning Emily! I would to see an eye look on a more mature woman - perhaps your Mom? It's sometimes a little tricky for some of us with crinkly eyes ; ) I look forward to seeing new videos from you!
Yes, I have the brush from BM when the first liquid foundation came out :). I prefer the original over the newer version of the BM foundation. I love the Touche Eclat primer and the Touche Eclat Radiance Awakening Foundation (summer) for winter I switch to a mix of Farsali Skin Tune with my YSL Foundation. Smashbox silicone primers don't get along with my skin but, the YSL works wonders and my skin loves it. I get very dry in winter and needed more moisture (enter skin tune - Farsali). Normally I bring my foundation up all the way and don't need concealer. If I need concealer, I reach for Too Face or Julep for spot concealing. xo Lynn
I was so glad to see you use the Fenty powder and the CT eye shadow. I think this eyeshadow looks very natural and will be great for everyday (it is really pricey but has great quality ). I am glad you are not applying false eyelashes as it is easier to see the full effect of the shadow. Great 👍🏻
That’s exactly how I feel about the fenty!!! I thought I got my shade but maybe I went too light but I still see my dark circles and I don’t have crazy ones!
I’ve seen others use the Benefit Brow Contour as a nose contour! Some people swear by it for the blendability and control for the nose since you can add as much as you need!
I personally love the Josie Maran concealer, it is full coverage and hydrating, but it is a little dewy (I don't mind that). This look is stunning on you, I love your eyelashes and the glow of your skin ❤️
I love this natural-ish eye look. Have you ever tried applying your mascara with a tiny mascara fan brush? I hadn’t until I watched a video by John Maclean. I have stubbornly straight lashes too and I love that I can literally push them up with the baby fan brush. I know you truly love makeup and new techniques so I wondered it you’d ever tried it.
Good morning, Emily! I have two questions: 1) what eye primer are you loving right now? 2) I have almost no eyelashes and I have thought about trying The careprost or one of the other eyelash serums but I worry about discoloration. Is the discoloration on your eyelids a result of lash serum?
I love my drugstore makeup (but BareMinerals and Thrive Causemetics are two exceptions), but high-end/luxury makeup is so intriguing. And the packaging is gorgeous! I might have to start buying the mini sizes from Sephora/Ulta
I find it crazy that the bigger beautubers like Jeffree Star and others don’t get monetized hardly ever but Emily (who isn’t hyped enough) gets literally THE MOST ads. You go girl!
Hello Emily . Love that kind of look ( more natural and more wearable for day to day ) . Your eyes are so beautiful without false lashes ! Love your videos very much ! 💖
Dear Emily, I loved this video and am going to try your version of an eye look from CT quad, but I am writing because I wanted you to know that I am enjoying your palettes sooo very much! I bought both of them, the Wants palette was a must, cause I loved the colors, and The Needs was purchased because I wanted to support you. Well, I knew I was going to love all the shades in the Wants palette, but MAN, I am killing my Needs palette. I love everything in it, everything has a dent, I’ve actually hit pan on everything and I am loving that transluscent powder. Everything is beautiful and so convenient. Good job! 👍🏻
I agree about Exagger-Eyes. Nice quad but way overpriced. I too purchased it because of all the hype. It’s a nice shadow set to wear to work because it’s very light (minus the sparkle shade) but I did not feel like a supermodel.
Very pretty look. I like how you come up with interesting ideas for videos. Something I've been curious about is the current trend of brands putting out 40+ shades of foundation. While I applaud increasing shade ranges light and dark to mirror the diversity of women, I have to wonder if this is overkill. If you have a promo kit of all the shades of a particular foundation, I would like to see a try on of the shades close to your skin tone to see how many are wearable or if there is one that works much better than the others. It would also be interesting if someone with a darker skin tome could do the same.
I love your more natural eye look on you. You have great natural eyelashes and I believe it makes you look younger and fresher than when you wear false eyelashes. False eyelashes just seem to weigh your eyes down and look a bit harsh. That could just be the way it comes across on my screen. I'd sure like to know a dupe for the shimmer in the pallet. You look absolutely stunning Emily. Love your content whether it's makeup or family. 😘💖
I love drugstore. I love luxury and high end, too. I think it would be neat to see either a full face of Charlotte Tilbury done in her style and/or a Charlotte Tilbury style using drugstore? If that even makes sense. Thanks for your videos! Always enjoyable, and I think that understated eye looks so natural and yet so glamorous- beautiful!! 💗
I love videos like this showing different products. I have been using the bare minerals foundation for over a year and I think it's such a under rated foundation. Ulta has it around Christmas for half off if it ends up being your favorite.
If anybody is looking to pick up this foundation, you might wanna check your local TJMaxx first. In the last month, I've seen it at 2 different stores in TX for I think $12. I also picked up a Buxom Plump on the Double lip duo (full size lip liner & a mini full-on lip cream) for just $5.99!! 😁
Since you asked: I am having a lot of dryness lately and tried a sample of the fenty concealer. It was a flat out disaster. It clung to and revealed every dry flake. I looked like a lizard and had to remove it all and start over with a different product.
love this look on you. It's very soft and natural looking. Thanks for doing a video on "luxury" makeup. Recently purchased my very first Dior palette and am in love and want ALL the Dior, but my family needs to eat. lol!!! I have some Charlotte Tilbury products and feel they are "hit or miss" like so many other brands. Some products are great, some not so much. I have avoided purchasing C.T. eye palettes, mostly because of my age and really needing to stick with more matte shadows and minimal shimmer. Beautiful on you!
I absolutely love the YSL primer! I kept trying others bc it’s so expensive in the full size. I always seemed to go back to my sample size and spent so much on others that I should’ve just bit the bullet and bought the YSL out of the gate.
I was worried at first about your blush application but of course it came together after the highlight. It really did give an amazing effect like you wanted. Love learning new techniques. Thanks Emily!
I had the same situation with the Natasha Denona highlighter (in deep) It kind of just sat in my collection until I finally reached for it and omg its my new fav😍😍
HI Emily! I love this natural look on you, and I'm so glad that you reviewed that Charlotte Tilbury quad. I have been hearing makeup artists on YT raving about her products, and I was ready to spend $110 Canadian on 2 products of hers. I'm so glad I waited. Yours is the opinion I value most, and you didn't disappoint. I'll save my money, and shop my stash instead. Secondly, I just wanted to say that you have the most beautiful eyes and lips and face shape. When I see your after shots on Instagram, I always think that you are the personification of a gorgeous brunette. You could do your makeup with crayons and still look smouldering! Keep on being beautiful XOXO
@Pjcat Ham thank you for such a wonderful reply! I feel the same way you do. I love the Dior and Chanel packaging. It's luxurious, and if I'm spending $65 on an eyeshadow quad, it had better tap dance and bring me dinner!! LOL I keep seeing makeup artists I follow, talking about the highlight palette for example, and raving about how beautiful it is, but I think "how many highlighters can one person have?" Tom Ford is WAY too high, out of my price range. I can't see spending that kind of money on eyeshadows, especially when the less expensive brands have great eyeshadows too. I don't need anything to wear for 24 hours. With the exchange on the dollar and the taxes on top, it makes it a very hefty price tag. I just read a book called Toss The Gloss, by Andrea Q Robinson. She was a big wig in companies like Revlon, Estee Lauder, Tom Ford, etc. She is over 50, and recommends the best makeup and skin care for over 50 skin. She mostly recommends drug store brands, or medium price range items. It's a very interesting read, and I refer back to it daily. Thanks again for your reply!
You were blessed with some good full brows! I just got my very first Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eyeshadow Palette. I went with the Pillow Talk when it restocked. I haven’t used it yet, I’m scared, it’s the most expensive Eyeshadow I own now. The one you’re using is so beautiful!
I totally agree with you about the brow pencil thing. I'm lighter than you but with dark hair and I can't use the 2 light ones at all (although I do use it a little around the lips to define and even line since its waxy, it keeps dark lips from feathering better than most lip liners) they should make a brown/fair version.
I am really loving the more natural, neutral looks on you. I know you weren't excited about the eye shadows, but I loved the look you got out of it.
Drinking my coffee and an Emily video pops up. Yay!
cheers!
Markley Carter same! Have an awesome day :)
Best thing ever!! Coffee and a new Emily video!!
Thanks for sharing about the Laura Mercier pressed version. I was looking for a product just like that. (I used to use something similar, but it was discontinue.) Thank you again for all your hard work!!!
Youthful.
That's the word that comes to mind with this look.
Gorg!
Saturday’s with Emily 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I think it would be a cool video to have your mom try newer hair stylist Instagram hair trends/techniques, like balayage or doing beachy/bed hair on you :)
I tried the YSL out in sephora, and it gave a cooling feeling and my lips felt sooo freaking good. But $40 is so much for a lip balm😩can't bring myself to buy it...perhaps one day il cave lol.
Same. I've been asking for (and getting) it as gifts for my b day or Christmas. I love it so much but it's so dang expensive.
And NOW it's Saturday morning!
woop woop!!
Happy birthday to Bub. I love the way your cheeks look. Can you do a video on highlighters that gives that wet look? Thanks in advance. I really appreciated your recommendations.
I decluttered my bare pro foundation. It looked very heavy to me. BUT it was before I discovered a damp sponge lol!
Heidi Ledford it didn’t work for me with a damp sponge. Like you said, it always looked heavy. I decluttered a deluxe sample after trying it for a week.
I never managed to make it work for me :(
I've used Bare Minerals original foundation for 13 years and love it...
Lisa Miller check out hotandflashy. She is 56 and does a lot of makeup reviews based on a mature-skin point of view
@@ronigrant - yes I watch Angie all the time! Her skin is gorgeous!
Yes!! I want too
Yes, I have the brush from BM when the first liquid foundation came out :). If I need concealer, I reach for Too Face or Julep for spot concealing. xo Lynn
Junior high me would have absolutely loved that brow pen. Getting total flashbacks from it. I love the more natural look.
Hi Emily. Have you tried any of the Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk products?
I have...love them..total must
I love Emily’s videos!! She’s always so honest about her experiences with any product. 💛
I might have to start buying the mini sizes from Sephora/Ulta
that highlighter omg!
I find it crazy that the bigger beautubers like Jeffree Star and others don’t get monetized hardly ever but Emily (who isn’t hyped enough) gets literally THE MOST ads. You go girl!
Loved the natural look on you and incorporating luxury products too!
Hello Emily . Love that kind of look ( more natural and more wearable for day to day ) . Your eyes are so beautiful without false lashes ! Love your videos very much ! 💖
"It's just ok for me dawg" 😂🤣 I just love you haha
Love you! Highlighter, which I discovered only a year ago, has made me so happy. I’m sure Bubs would enjoy a VS fashion show. 😍
Hmmm the high blush just makes it look like sunburn, certainly couldn’t pull that off with my skin tone
Good morning everyone!! Emily and coffee, perfect start to a Saturday ❤️☕️
I would love it if you recreated this look with drugstore products! So fresh and perfect for every day.
If you love a red toned bronzer, try the Becca bronzer in Maui Nights!! It’s my go-to for that slight sunburned look in summer. 😊
Lauren Castle I just commented the same thing! I love that one and bronzed bondi!
Gorgeous!! I adore the “wet” color from the CT quad! Would love if you could find a dupe!
So pretty! This palette reminds me of the mattes in Tom ford's cocoa Mirage....magic.
I’m all about dramatic and colourful looks but gotta say this looks so fresh and refined. That highlighter is something else 😍
I SO trust your opinion that 99% of my makeup stash is Emily recommendations. That makes luxury videos like this even more exciting for me!
I love that you focus on affordable products a lot of the time, but when you do reviews of luxury products I GET SO EXCITED
Hi Emily, do try the new Dior Lip Maximizer! They're supposed to be plumping too with a swirly candy look to the bullet which makes it look fun imo. 😄
Happy Birthday to Tyler and Kelly. You do look glowing and the blush is lovely on you.
The bareminerals brush you were thinking of was made for the bareminerals serum foundation. I like the bare pro better.
Since you asked: I am having a lot of dryness lately and tried a sample of the fenty concealer. It was a flat out disaster. It clung to and revealed every dry flake. I looked like a lizard and had to remove it all and start over with a different product.
I love the natural look. Everyone seems to be jumping on the lip plumping balm thing. That might be my next product to try. Have a great Saturday!
I love this look! It's fun but not practical to go glam and run errands. THIS look is perfect for feeling fancy but a normal look for day to day.
love this look on you.
Thanks Emily!
jill stuart lip blossoms are amaaazing lipsticks that are sheer and like the most amazing lipbalm but looks so gorgeous on the lips
So I discovered your videos and I have been binge watching thru my maternity leave. Thank you for keeping me company and for making great videos
Your skin looks so nice in this video. Even a smidge better than the normal fabulous look. High end...hmmm.
I had the same situation with the Natasha Denona highlighter (in deep) It kind of just sat in my collection until I finally reached for it and omg its my new fav😍😍
Yayyyy! Happy Emily Saturday Morning Everyone!!! Happy to be here & happy it’s Saturday! 💚☕️❣️
Hey Allyson!!
Mac has lip balms with a pretty good amount of color that also plump the lips called plenty of pout
Just picked up your palette the wants this past week & I'm loving it. Such a unique color story!!!
