46 years old Swede here. I would guess the old man died in 2004 year, or during the end of 2003 year, and during the last year(s) of his life didn't have power or possibility to do any upkeeping. Before that he at least tried (the typical Swedish Christmas lamps in the windows, even if he lived where noone saw them except perhaps the mailman!) The woman's clothes could as well be his old mother's, or maybe he was once married but his wife died suddenly or left him, and he never threw the clothes away, maybe dreaming some strange dream that she would eventually return? Or maybe she was his sister which would explain that there is no real bedroom for two in the house? I noticed some details on the ground floor were clearly from 1990s or early 2000s (like his surprisingly newish landline telephone and some of the grocery store paper bags), but on the upper floor the grocery store paper bags were of a 1980s style just like I remember them from my childhood then. Maybe the upper floor was left in a mess when the man got old and couldn't walk up the stairs any more. Probably he lived his whole life in this place and it wasn't any problem as long as he had his power, but finally he got too old and couldn't move, let alone take care of the house, but still refused help (or refused to ask for help) from the local authorities, There are, or at least used to be, lots of people in Sweden living like this man, alone in a small wooden house deep in the forest, where time stood still since their mother died or something like that... Today, there are million of Canadians would love to live in a single house like this one instead of cramp urban properties because of the crime rate and the illegal " residents " encampment " in overall Canada cities; the Canadian government under the super wicked narsissist Trudeau and his blatantly corrupted Liberal Party had totally failed the good Canadians!

for lack of funds, a lot of old folks' houses fall down around their ears while they still live there. The house likely was already in a state of decay before 2004, and the intervening years have compounded the rot.
I know it all too well. I bought a house that was built in 1924, I lived there for 20 years and just sold it because of health reasons I couldn’t keep up with repairs and all, I stuck it out as long as possible because it was my home. I thought as long as it stood, I had a roof over my head. It had started crumbling down around me. When someone came in and looked at it, they did a test with some kind of meter to test how much moisture was in the walls and they were full. It almost costed me the sale, but someone finally bought it. It broke my heart. It was the only home I ever owned. It’s been a year now and I still cry over it. It may have been crumbling, but it was still my home. I raised my son there. Now I live with my son and his wife. She is great daughter-in-law and all, I have no complaints in that area, but I feel like a burden. There’s nothing like having your own. Even if it is falling down around you.
@@jesusisking258 If they were respectful, they wouldn't have entered the house at all. The gentleman who lived there is dead, and the property should be treated with the same respect as a grave.
As we grow older, we realize that peace if important than anything in this world, many want to live away from chaos and noise. We don't have to react to everything, just keep calm and let things calm down. Peace is inner healing
Thank You ❤ Wauu. The picture of the man with the pipe is a very common picture in Denmark and Sweden. It is all over in houses where elderly people lives. I don´t remember the artist.
Hey Lesley, I just rewatched this video of your explore together with Danny. Already at the beginning it was interesting to see how challenging the hike was to finally reach the location. - I can imagine, that this wood house was back in the active days quite a cozy and comfortable home. Very typical nordic style from the outside with these red and white colours, which I have seen many times in Finland as well. - I saw an electric lamp at a bedside and a switch on a wall. So the former owner even had electricity, also necessary for the fridge and freezer. - It is actually quite unique to see, that in this remote location was electricity and other equipment to have quite a comfortable life. - I also loved seeing how respectful you and Danny were approaching the probable life of the former owners. Despite of the heavy decay and the messed up state of some rooms there were still a lot of nice and charming details visible, especially in the living/dining room. - Once more a wonderful explore video with strikingly beautiful background music! Respect, my friend! I am already looking forward to your next explore adventure! - Stay safe, bro, many hugs, peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.
Wooden structures in dense woodland will always decay faster if not constantly looked after, very sad but very interesting. Thank you boys. Tina in Bulgaria.
My grandfather was German and spoke fluent German. He was very soft hearted he would give you the shirt off his back. He lived to be in his 90s and probably would have lived to be a hundred if he wasn't put in a nursing home.
This story reminds me of "Heidi", in a way. The isolation, no one seeing him. Sad but there's a reason for everything. Thanks for the tour of the past ❤
This is definitely a married man who lived here with his wife. The box upstairs that had the knitting stuff had the name Ulla and 1942 written inside of it. Or maybe it was a brother and sister. Who knows, but the story of this place is definitely intriguing. It is sad how places like these tell us that some people were not cared for and when they passed nobody cared to take care of their belongings.
I have a second cousin in Scotland (my dad's cousin), who is in her 90's and lives in the house where she was born. I am the only one of the extended family who has kept in touch and visit, and most of the relatives in Canada don't even know she exists. She never married or had children, and neither did her two brothers. So, maybe just that no one has the authority to do anything with the property? I don't know what my cousin's plans are but she was a nurse all her life and quite organised and sensible, but absolutely refuses to take help :(
@@Chahlie I think the best thing to do in your case is to simply keep her company and visit. Nobody will ask for help, especially proud independent people who have done everything for themselves their entire lives. But an old relative who has nobody but you should receive the dignity and respect of being acknowledged and treated kindly in their last days on earth. It’s sad when people are forgotten, don’t you think?
Thanks for that. I was annoyed they said "Wow! A tree!" and then moved on without any post-editing info but I guess they don't know anything about cars.

It is so sad that the house was left to just fall down and become dilapidated. I love my my house and can't imagine it becoming like that. I'm wondering if someone moved in after he passed away? Some of those things look newer. I think a lady, maybe a relative, was able to move in and stay for a while. I am Impressed with your exploring capabilities because with all that stuff it had to stink in there, but you keep going through it all making it a wonderful adventure! That typewriter is probably worth some money--and worth so much to someone who loves exploring, like you.

For others, living alone can be the only peace they have in their lives. If you lived in the city like I did, the worse sense of loneliness happens when you are surrounded by people but they still make you feel alone. Some people have been with people their entire lives and they have gone tired with the drama, the maintenance of connection or bonds that drift apart. These can be too overwhelming so they find peace by focusing on themselves. Living by themselves.Sadly, it is not their fault, its just a fact of life that happens. I know you are from a different culture so it may be difficult for you to understand. But have you ever felt the feeling that your closest friends doesn't know who you are? That you don't want your family to see that vulnerable side in fear of making them hurt or upset? Or you cannot trust your co-workers because work in the office is too professional for friendships. Well, you can see why people will choose to live more alone, but at peace. I hope you know how to take care of yourself.
True. Why are we judging people who live alone as sad? He or she may have enjoyed living alone. It's being taken away from this place and put in a nursing home that may have been sad for them.

What a great explore Lesley & Danny! Thank you for showing us this quaint little cottage in the woods of Sweden 🍃🤎🍂
This video is truly a great inspiration to start the day with a strong and optimistic spirit. Wishing everyone good health and peace in all circumstances!
It's really sad seeing all things being left behind like this. Isn't anyone else willing to make this house liveable again?
Thank you guys for such a great vdo. Sending hello and regards from Thailand 🇹🇭😊🙏
Husqvarna is a Swedish company established in 1689. Later owned by Electrolux with shareholder both in Germany an Japan for instace. So it's not a German company as allaged.
I comment this 2, he shuld know this, he is from Germany, i was shocked.
@@turji......
No , Lesley is from Belgium and Danny is from Portugal. So he probably would not have known that. .
I only saw this comment after I wrote the same thing, sorry… You’re right!!! 👏
I was looking for this comment. everyone should know by now that Husqvarna is Swedish. these guys are a bit clueless
Exakt
"...lived 60 years...in his tiny abandoned house." It wasn't abandoned when he lived in it. It's abandoned now.
My thought too, the meaning of the word "abandoned" has maybe slid towards "old and worn down" these days.
@@teecog101gaming Maybe. I know "awesome" and "epic" have completely slid toward simply meaning "really good or cool."
@@teecog101gaming I think he meant a house in solitude from other homes, by itself.
Like the same as living on a abandoned island 🤣
The house is not abandoned if someone is living in there. The house might be neglected!
A simple life in Sweden. Time passed. Great video.
So einfach hat er scheinbar nicht gelebt, wenn ich diese Vermüllung so betrachte!

What a lovely place. Very respectfully filmed too, I'm sure the old man would be happy for you to stop by.
Ever since I experienced the city life I realized that secluded life is what I would prefer;solitude, nature is therapeutic..
Yes..but it s so hard to find...especially in such a small country as Austria. Everywhere I go, there are people...even deep in the woods you meet tourists hiking and biking.😕
My kitchen cabinets are that exact same colour! What a sweet place, you can tell the man was very happy there. What a blessing to be able to live a small self contained life in a place you love :)
I think it was a women unless a cross dresser 😅
Today, there are million of Canadians would love to live in a single house like this one instead of cramp urban properties because of the crime rate and the illegal " residents " encampment " in overall Canada cities; the Canadian government under the super wicked narsissist Trudeau and his blatantly corrupted Liberal Party had totally failed the good Canadians!
Thank you Leslie and Danny. This place is amazing. What a time capsule he left behind. I can't wait for the next one.
Some of the story is made up though.
Omg..I love this, my mother's father came here from Sweden my name is Sandra. I love the sewing machine. I'm from the usa
Wow! So many beautiful things! 😍 Stringhyllan, porslinet, fantastiskt! Men det vore intressant att höra den riktiga storyn bakom huset!

Wow. Thank you guys. This video made me feel alot of emotions. I really started to think that life really do end after you pass away, but the memories will stay forever if wanted. Also the location of his house, property and yard gave me so much hope, that i wanna really live like that soon as possible with my man. ❤

Någon äger huset och marken. Ingen har lov och rota i andras hus. 👨✈️
for lack of funds, a lot of old folks' houses fall down around their ears while they still live there. The house likely was already in a state of decay before 2004, and the intervening years have compounded the rot.
yep family members of mine sold a 1920s era home cause of that very reason it was falling apart and ready to be torn down
Exactly👍 100% thats what happened in this case
Once the roof starts to leak it gets bad fast.
True, that. @@blazefairchild465
Alot of effort was taken to pack that type writer away and you just left it open to the elements !!! Have some respect

@@jesusisking258How?They didn't recover the typewriter.
@@jesusisking258 If they were respectful, they wouldn't have entered the house at all. The gentleman who lived there is dead, and the property should be treated with the same respect as a grave.

Thank You ❤ Wauu. The picture of the man with the pipe is a very common picture in Denmark and Sweden. It is all over in houses where elderly people lives. I don´t remember the artist.
I came here to say this. It's a fisherman, and this image has been featured in some old movie that I can't recall the name of..
It called "That old seabear" and The artist is haerendel. Its in my house to here in sweden 😉

Oh cool. Wish I could get one.
The man in the picture is the Dutch Dorus Rijkers. He lived from 1847 to 1928 and was painted by the german painter Harry Haerendel (1896-1991).
Beautiful Beautiful place !! I love Sweden❤and Scandinavia in general❤
I have seen many similar abandoned houses in the woods of Sweden. It's an eerie feeling seeing these once proud homes slowly decay year by year.
Love what these young men do. Reminds me of when I was young.
My grandfather was German and spoke fluent German. He was very soft hearted he would give you the shirt off his back. He lived to be in his 90s and probably would have lived to be a hundred if he wasn't put in a nursing home.
Creo que esa casa estam los ecos de ños recuerdo y sera que pueda vivir otra persona alli😊😊😊😊😊
Well God bless the man☘️@Thomas-yr9ln
Wow that was real time capsule of a life. It was a very cute house despite all of the decay. Thank you for the adventure. From Maine in the USA.
This story reminds me of "Heidi", in a way. The isolation, no one seeing him. Sad but there's a reason for everything. Thanks for the tour of the past ❤
I loved reading my Heidi books as a kid.
On the green book at around 12 minutes in it says directly translated " Let god be true to you " Greetings from Sweden!!
Wlan would be nice 😜
I love how these brothers interact with each other. Very sensitive & respectful for each other. Love it. ❤

A sad story like all abandoned houses. The car is OPEL Olympia .
Thanks for that. I was annoyed they said "Wow! A tree!" and then moved on without any post-editing info but I guess they don't know anything about cars.
I hate it when people leave their hose behind. Luckily there's more in the garden center.

In Sweden, there is still the opportunity to live this way if you want. There is so much forest and land and houses that have been empty for a long time. As a genealogist, I am always thrilled to see the place live on in its own way!

It is so sad that the house was left to just fall down and become dilapidated. I love my my house and can't imagine it becoming like that. I'm wondering if someone moved in after he passed away? Some of those things look newer. I think a lady, maybe a relative, was able to move in and stay for a while.

That’s true ! I am alone but not lonely… I have lived alone for over 25 years and I love ❤️ my solitary life! I do whatever I want, whenever I want, for as long as I want to do it. I’ll work on something I want to make or relax and read a really good book 📕, watch my favourite movies 🎥 🍿 or play guitar 🎸 for 8-10 hours straight some days / but mostly at night and it’s awesome to not be bothered by anyone and all of the worlds “ problems “ I have a very stressful job constantly dealing with an endless parade of people and their issues all the time that I do every single day when I am working. I am starting to find that the older I get the more value my alone time to do whatever I want without all the stress more than anything else. It’s quite peaceful and really relaxing 😌 and I enjoy it more and more as time goes by. I do enjoy company or a relationship a lot if it’s with the right person but I also enjoy being by myself just as much or sometimes even more ! 😄 i do think that some people need to be around other people all the time… but that being said some of us don’t need or want m that in our lives every waking minute of every day and it can be nothing but a total stress trip to some of us to always be around everyone all the time. I think he or she had a great peaceful life in this place. I’d bet it was a really comfortable, relaxing little place when it was newer and in better condition . 😊
