Hey mate! Great vid. I’m pretty sure the old blue spot and the footballer are the same specie of trout just different colouration. I’ve never heard of them being a different specie.
Yeah 100% same species. Footballer is the juvenile colouration of the blue sport. That’s what I mentioned 5 different species, 6 different trout.

What boat was it that you were running out there in? that was an amazing trip and My greatest fear is of sharks but to have both a Tiger and Hammerhead was dam scary, why was it keen on fin? just him being a smaller meal? I have heard that Hammers can be pretty aggressive?
Do you use an of the Shark repellant devices and in your opinion do they work like the shark shield?

Hey Garry, yes hammers can get nuts!! I don’t use any shark repellent devices
Dig this style of videos, would love to hear some hunting techniques on the different species too!

Tim, although named a a coronation trout (Variola louti) & lyretail trout (Variola albimarginata) they are not a coral trout whose genius is "Plectropomus" not "Variola".

Epic trout bag 👌. But what's the go with trout and cig over there. From WA so not sure how it goes, but aren't they meant to be a bit of a worry to consume?
The really big blue spots like 20kg definitely cig worry but they are oversized anyway so no take. All the others are fine
So basically stick to the more "pan size" sort of fish and you all good.
All those are totally fine. Some of the coral sea reefs have lots of Cig. I wouldn’t take any trout from say Marion reef
