    After 40 years of spearfishing still seeing new things is what I love, chased a massive flathead the other day (wasn't going to shoot it), it turned around, stopped, arched it's back and opened it's mouth as if to challenge me. Then it thought better and took off. Makes me smile every time I think about it.

    0:33 That is a lot of facts. It does be very tough to relax on the surface, but once you have on the last week and you're filled in top point that it could be very easy for you to go down, but you can float back up very quick but quiet and calm. That is a very good thing. Because once you can do that, you could be able to relax more properly on the surface.😊😊

    Awesome video as always!! Great to see the effort to get that jack that cut you off. One thing for me is that even when you don’t get or even see any fish is that you are getting the best exercise possible and you are one dive closer to your next awesome fish!! Can’t wait for part 2 keep them coming please

    I remember my first days of diving, and the enormous joy I felt at just being out in the water regardless of what i got on the spear. For a few years, I let competitiveness and bragging rights do a lot of damage to the enjoyment of spearfishing, but when i recognised it, I started to approach my diving once again in a more relaxed and peaceful kind of way, and I have that joy back.
    You are right Tim. We should never lose sight of the journey and all the things along the way. That is what makes the destination so much more enjoyabpe to reach in the end.
    May the Lord bless you and keep you safe and joyful in life 🙏

    Hey Tim, love your videos. You've inspired me to switch to a Riffe Euro 😂 Just curiously, what spears do you use? I've heard the riffe shafts can be a bit easy to bend and pretzel. Otherwise they're weapons of a gun.

    • @Spearfishing-Downunder
      @Spearfishing-Downunder  4 месяца назад +1

      The Riffe spears definitely can be a bit softer because they are Stainless steal, sometimes I use other spring steal brands

    • @DavidBulsey
      @DavidBulsey 4 месяца назад +1

      buy a bigger spring shaft I use 8mm on my guns with 3x 14mm rubbers very powerful smash anything.. but I own the discontinued competitor 4 series idk if euro fits thicker bars

    • @kylestewart9762
      @kylestewart9762 4 месяца назад

      @@DavidBulsey yeah not too sure. I am tossing up between the Riffe Euro 7.1mm with Tri Point instead of the Pencil Point tip or going for a Rob Allen 7.5mm with twin wire shark fins. I will be using either twin 16s or twin 14s on a Riffe Euro 1300. The 8mm sounds a little overkill for what I aim to shoot and not sure if it would fit the euro mech but it sounds like a beast of a setup. I think other shafts that fit the euro mech will require either shark fin line attachment or require the bottom of the spear to be grinded to fit into such a narrow mechanism.

    • @DavidBulsey
      @DavidBulsey 4 месяца назад

      I also own the marauder 63, that fits the exact shafts that I use on my older guns.. something you might wanna check the 47 or 55 but anyways all the Riffe Guns are good@@kylestewart9762
