the line "you know you're not losing your mind" hits me so hard because it suggests that you've thought about it, and wondered if you were. It's that feeling of being unsure and afraid, and then finally coming to the conclusion that you're going to be okay.

When I was a kid, I used to have a recurring dream where I'd wake up on a sunny morning. My bed was next to a window. My school friends, siblings and cousins were there playing. I would join them, and the I would wake up.

Cannot describe how much I love this song
This song makes me think of a distant single parent and their relationship to their child. The song is told from a child's perspective, admiring their parent, who is so distant, mysterious, and quiet most of the time. The parent provides all of the essentials yes, but there's no loving gestures, leaving this emotional gap between them. Am I projecting? Totally.

This album's got me crying, sitting here, looking back through nostalgia, and thinking about my friends and family.
And it's sad cause they don't know how much they mean to me and we can never go back to those nostalgic moments or even make up for the time we lost.
The more I think about it, the more I start to fear that the worst thing wouldn't be them never knowing how I feel about them. It's instead seeing how I _feel_ turning into how I _felt_ and then eventually... not feeling anying at all

I'm here drinking myself just to get emotional. I have a speech disability so I got rejected by every girl I ever got the courage to propose. Trust me it's very hard to do when you fumble everyword, especially when you're nervous. My cherished grandma passed away along with my elder sister. I have lost most emotions after all of that. I just wanna die and not suffer in life but I also wan't to be a coward and make my family die inside. My younger sister left for college, so I get very lonely. All that helps lessen the burden is some songs

20 years and I've gone through so much in the past year. from almost going homeless, to risking jail time from a mistake in college. it's been a wild ride. sure, I may not have a degree, but I have a house now with my friends, and I'm being moved up to management at my job. sure I have depression and ptsd, constantly reliving the bad moments of 2022-mid 2023, but I can get through it.

Yeah.. Beach House is probably the best at mixing "upbeat" rhythms with melancholic sounds, at least imo. And it always sounds different each time too.. I also love Cigarettes After Sex, personally feel like their sound is way more slower and mellow, tbh their music is like Radio Head tier depressing levels (the kinda that mercilessly downs you in it) but way much more tolerable with their romantic lyrics and overall "vibe"
