I met this gentleman personally today at a shipper and he is genuinely a great guy. We talk for about a hour and I considered it a honor to meet him. I even got a chance to show him a flatbed truck I learned. Keep on trucking mr davis. Hope to see you again. Keep on trucking sir. Be safe heading back to W.Va
I've watched this 4 times in the last two days. I absolutely love this Rig. Maybe one day I can get one to build like it, or maybe even buy this one off of Mr. Davis and be the next steward of this beautiful truck.
So cool to see Bob in one of your vids Chris!!!! Honored that I got to meet him for a bit at New England Truckstop last summer. My friends and I run old trucks like that to carry on that old school tradition and work ethic. Keep up the great videos!
If DOT would change one rule ELD would work fine in my opinion just change it so I can stop the clock. If I'm at a loading dock for 3-4 hours or the highway is shut down or even to take a hour power nap I should be able to stop the clock so I don't lose any driving time for the day
megapeterbilt1 AFREAKINMAN!!!!!! Dang at the times I've been held up 4 hrs or more at a shipper. Should be able to "clock out" just like any other job. ELD has a place in trucking, just needs to be more fair to the drivers. Imo, that's the dumbest rule in trucking. And, these shippers and receivers art to be made to pay you the driver atter 1 hr of detention. I ain't never delivered to any place that ain't got enough lumpers to eat a fully loaded trailer in less than an hr.
The old days of trucking were the best, I rode a many a mile with my Pops as a kid before I got behind the wheel, & I've enjoyed every minute I spent in a truck.
Love seeing the oldies still running the road. I'm only forty, but all the trucks I've driven were and currently are as old as I am. Love what you do chris keep up the good work.
He speaks a lot of wisdom. I myself miss being able to stop and relax take a nap do whatever while waiting for rush hour traffic to settle down. Now drivers are forced into sitting in that traffic on ELD.
My personal preference but this is THE best truck i've seen on the show. I also love the the topic at hand, E logs is an embarrassment to the "free enterprise" that America was founded upon. I feel all sectors of the industry suffer from the mandate but more than anything the Drivers do....and more than that in my honest opinion...FLATBED Drivers take the biggest hit...to spend so much time doing manual labor and only be paid for tarping and driving is an injustice...not to mention so many shippers and receivers burning a drivers clock out while not paying detention...and carriers not enforcing it on their customers to stay in "good graces"....the customers enforcing no parking rules on their property put alot of drivers at risk of tickets and fines when they run out of time and have to drive away for parking.
St. Vick yeah that’s one thing I hate is companies will get on our asses about staying within your hours and not being in violation but as a flatbedder if you’re at a shipper/receiver and you get there within your hours and end up waiting then your out of hours and still have to get loaded/unloaded and companies don’t care about that
Talking about Mom and Pop places I can't remember if it was in Virginia or Maryland on 301 i think. Campbell's. Remember stopping there as a kid with dad
Mr. Davis is exactly right, the ELD takes the driver decisions which are superior to computer out of the equation, assuming he/she is mature. Professionals know when they need a break, and when they can drive...
Hands down good video, and you are so right about the change thing and how their were small diners every where, more places to park and see less trucks on the road, and cars, and that everyone was your friend on the road, now a days no one will stop to help, and yes so true, on the elog cant stop anywhere to take an hour power nap etc, take for instance, me and my father had the shims break on are lowboy and the shims got jammed solid so we were like a sittin duck at are pick up zone already loaded with a garbage truck on, we got their at 9am to load and left their at like 3:30pm count of the shims breaking, and only had 4 hours of driving left, we were in Cambridge Ontario and would have made it to Montreal so about 3 quaters home because from where im at its a full 12 and a half hour trip to montreal if we didn't lose out on so many hours just from being down, hands down this elog crap needs to come to an end, it's hurting every driver out their and all the company's, in the world, I'd give the person a weak lickin (punch) across the face to who ever created this non sense shit it needs to stop because it's useless, my toy truck at home would be more useful then this crap for crying out loud and that's not a joke either
Im not a driver but I have a real good friend that does drive a truck and from what I have seen been in the truck with him the E log is making driver's stop on the shoulder of the road and ramps to rest because the truck stop's are full and so are the rest areas here in Illinois witch makes it not safe for the driver or anyone else driving because they either have to move over or watch to see if a truck is leaving from a pot on a ramp not safe at all for no one
You know guis the things will just be as shitty as we have here in Europe.Nobody give a damn if you have your driving time or rest time screwed, the only thing the police want is to pass you a ticket. No excuzes are admitted and those tickets are havy sometimes. They make a good things though by forcing companies to pay for hour/day wage, well,no kilometers anymore.Bosses are so screwed by that but they, and a lot of the cliens too b.t.w, had swallowed the pill,so when they wanted the delivery to be in time they talk to the driver first to know if he has a possibility to get the job done only by LEGAL way.And thei introduced "points" to your driver licence,12 for two years, and if you have some serious violation you start to loose them too. When,if,you get the limit-adios el carnet, you loose your CDL.So,the good thing for us,we can officially send the bosses/clients to the jorney to far-far-away)))if we can't our job in the legal way. All the best.Greatings from Portugal!✋
And eld forces the driver to do nothing. That driver still is able to stop for that nap on the other side of Atlanta. It's up to you if you work for peanuts or not.
At what point do electronic logs FORCE you to drive? If your tired STOP DRIVING!!! Electronic logs have nothing to do with how a person drives. Its based off of when you pickup and deliver. Electronic logs help the driver. 7 minutes on paper is 15 minutes! 7 minutes on electronic is 7 minutes! But, lets except what the problem really is... YOU CANT CHEAT ON IT
that and cameras looking forward looking back I hate it...my truck has it 😠and guys elds running out there clock and parking on the side of the hiway sleeping..dangerous..
That intro gets me pumped up every time 👍
33 years running one truck. Simply amazing
I recall rather recently he honked for me while on US-23. Mr. Davis, if you’re reading this, thanks for blowing the horn!
This driver has the best sounding radio you have interviewed, PERIOD!!
I think you may be right
I met this gentleman personally today at a shipper and he is genuinely a great guy. We talk for about a hour and I considered it a honor to meet him. Love the old timers. So much respect for them.
His explanation of the troubles with ELDS is spot on. The government needs to seriously consider the driver's input.
Sadly it won't happen
The government thinks that we are all a bunch of idiots who obviously can't be trusted to do our jobs.
I've watched this 4 times in the last two days. I absolutely love this Rig. Maybe one day I can get one to build like it, or maybe even buy this one off of Mr. Davis and be the next steward of this beautiful truck.

It's not the ELD. It's the hours of service that would need changed.
The old days of trucking were the best, I rode a many a mile with my Pops as a kid before I got behind the wheel, & I've enjoyed every minute I spent in a truck.
Good story everything he is say is so true. I respect and admire the old school truck drivers.
Mr Davis should be the president of trucking . I agree with what he said .
Love seeing the oldies still running the road. I'm only forty, but all the trucks I've driven were and currently are as old as I am. Love what you do chris keep up the good work.
I’ve seen this truck before and it was just so nice to be riding side that truck for awhile just looking at the sweet old looking rig 👌🏽👍🏽
Love listening to these old time truckers. Wish trucking was more like it used to be back in those days.
That's a beautiful K-Whopper, it's a blumin' shame they don't make them like that anymore!
Seen this driver this morning in Grinnell Kansas. Knew I recognized this truck. Pretty cool guy to chat with. 👍🏾
Wow now that's awesome!! That truck is Beautiful 😲! And good ol WV boy yes sir!! Rep us well I must say thank you Mr Davis!!
I really enjoy watching your interviews you are a good man Chris keep up the good fight
He speaks a lot of wisdom. I myself miss being able to stop and relax take a nap do whatever while waiting for rush hour traffic to settle down. Now drivers are forced into sitting in that traffic on ELD.
One of my favorites, the sad thing is that those implementing these regulations happily sit behind a desk and don’t even have a cdl.
The last part of the video at 15:37 when the rig fades off to left....Priceless👍🔥
Trucking has changed but thank god that truck still rolls rock steady!!
That man spoke the truth... Cheers to you sir and Chris, for the awesome interview
The driver is the best manager of his time in his truck...not an eld.
The 10 HR mandatory Off Duty reset clock has killed more motorists than any other HOS rule.
Amazing truck, amazing driver/driving! 😀🏆🏆👍
Good one. Miss the old days. Good times.
Good ole boy from West Virginia.
WOW !! Love that truck. Now that's a truck you don't see very often . I would like to see the inside. Great interview. Thx.
This man is 100 percent correct. Truck stops are always over packed and so is the shoulder of the road.
So much awesomeness back 2 back!!! I can’t handle it 😎 @bigrigvideos
Just realized that you hit 100K subs. Congrats!!! Keep up the great work. Love the vids.
I love these interviews please keep it up guys!
Straight up iconic piece of timeless classic Americana cool!!!😎👍👍👍😎
Gorgeous rig 😍
I got the opportunity to meet and talk with Mr. Davis this morning in West Branch Michigan
West Virginia represented
I'm a fan of the big sleepers. It would've been nice to see his set-up. Great conversation.
Thank GOD someone finally realized not everyone is the same with the same work habits

Wicked intent 🤘🤘🤘
Took a lot of naps in Gary;)
OG triple OG
Belo caminhão, muito conservado é um clássico kenworth.
Concerning ELD's he's addressing the hours of service. Not the ELD itself.
Whats the name of the intro song?
The Super Clone Last of the Cowboys by Tony Justice on his new album Stars Stripes and White Lines available at Petro and most major fuel stops
What! 4 millions miles and counting!!!
Love the old girl.
This w900 is the shisnit.....one of a kind
Ermosos camiones
In regards to eld The government wants robots. That’s my opinion. Lol. 😂
Yup, make it so hard to follow the rules that everybody will just switch to self driving trucks.
My question is ? Does the fucking government follows any rule..im sure they dont
More like government robots controlled by industry titans want robots.....
Great w9a
Funny pronunciation. It's like they sing songs there -)
Was gonna buy a new truck until the E log became law.
✋👍👍👍
I completely agree with the eld. Its a political eyeball
I hope the government is hearing what he is saying they mess everything up
And eld forces the driver to do nothing. That driver still is able to stop for that nap on the other side of Atlanta. It's up to you if you work for peanuts or not.
The trucks sleeper looks good but really don't like the design!
it looks good its from the good old days
Then go look at a volvol shit head
John Andrew your trying to take the piss out of my English and you can't even fucking write it properly, fucking idiot

To the four dislikes!!!... You all probably would not know how to drive that truck!!!
This driver sounds like Gene Tracey

Kdubs
44------Bud-uncle sam mind your Own Damn Business-------Copy-WeGone
Enforcement enforcement for sure. I'm surprised the DOT hasn't mandated he remove the confederate tank covers yet.
Javan Russell I wish they would...
Javan Russell can they do that.
FurryDee Why? Do you like the government telling people what they can and can't have on their truck? You must be a Democrat.
