    Fun fact: Despite having high speed internet, virtually nobody streams music in Japan. Most people keep buying CDs. Also, many Japanese people play SACDs, a high resolution type of CD which has 64 times the sample rate of an ordinary CD.

      yes, and one sixteenth bit depth. In the end, 192khz/24 bit flacs offer the same quality if not better and can be easily enjoyed from a service like tidal no dac and tinkering around required. And that's without mentioning compatibility in the conversation

    • @johnz4860
      @johnz4860 7 месяцев назад

      @@mihnea919 true, but given the sheer size of the music collection many of us have it makes no sense to pay for a streaming service for music we already have anyway. Also, every single CD I have bought since 1986 and SACD I have works perfectly well, I feel they will outlive me. However, who can guarantee that those streaming services will be around in 10 years' time? Nobody! I'd much rather own my music.

      That's such an old stereotype lmao... yes people still keep buying CDs for the artist they support but people have been using music streaming apps for a couple of years now... the famous ones being Apple Music, Amazon Prime and Spotify.... get your facts straight... nowadays mainly Showa and some Heisei people are adamant on using CDs when listening to music.... and I know this because I was an exchange student there back in 2019...

    i think most people here dont understand what average means.
    all the speeds here are for the whole country.
    its not the max speed.
    im living in netherlands and i have 1Gb (which means gigabit not byte) 1Gb is 1000Mb(megabit not byte). Small b means bit, capital B means byte. 2 different things.
    the videos is about Megabit. it states the average of our speed is 209.11 Megabit. but still i have 1000 megabit. but not everyone has this speed. so thats why it called an average... not max speed

      The title is misleading because it shows a weighted average, not the fastest internet speed available. Here in Hungary, 2000/1000 is widely available even in small villages (small country, easy to install fibre everywhere), but many people don't need that bandwidth, so they "dwarf" the average.

    in Russia, the average speed is higher than in the USA or in England - everyone there complains not only about prices but also about speed - we often have wired Internet. How these figures were calculated remains a mystery. they probably calculate the formal speed from advertising booklets. if you have optical fiber, then 100 MB/s is already enough for everything. it is necessary to calculate how many people use optics, how many wired lines, how many wireless ones. wired networks are usually stable - the speed is according to the contract, and cellular networks can show the agreed speed once a year
