1st. Hi Rob, Not really surprised that I'm first as it is 5.00 am where you are. That pen is amazing. Thank you so much. I did blush when you called me a Master Pen Maker especially as you have just done something I have never done and that is turn a pen without any pen making equipment. For only your second pen it is astonishing!!!! I love the way you made the blank and that is something I will definitely copy. I hope you like the pen I made and am really looking forward to using this pen. Thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration. Take care Rob and thanks once again. Cheers, Huw
Thank you Huw, this was a lot of fun, and I learnt a lot. I love the pen you made, and I definitely think I am getting the better deal :) I watched your video over coffee on the TV before everything went pear shaped here, sorry for the delay in responding. I ordered some pen making gear for my next pen, but I see the thing I really need is the non stick poly bushings for applying finish. Keep well, Rob
@@RobBrandtWoodturning Thanks Rob. Non stick bushes really do help. They can leave a little ridge of CA though on the end of the blank which I take off with a scalpel. Which one do you want. The one I showed being turned or the second one. Cheers, Huw
Hi Ruben, thank you for connecting, I just subbed your channel, and will check out some of your videos when I get a chance. Let me know if you want to join the #penchallenge that I put on my community wall. Keep well, Rob
Hello again my friend, thank you for your continued support. You are very creative, I am sure you could make a wonderful pen too. Keep well, and stay safe. Rob

@@RobBrandtWoodturning Dear friend, you're welcome. See you. greetings.
Wow, great job, looks marvelous. I hope you and your other turning friends keep it up and you never run out of ideas. I find watching your program calming and use it as a stress release therapy. M
Thank you, I find that the wood turning is a big stress relief, except when you spend 12 hours working on a project only to have the most important piece fly off because one makes it too thin ----twice :) Then the sailor in me comes out :) I actually have some other really cool ideas, but you will have to keep watching...is it ok to think that ones own ideas are really cool? Love, Rob
Rob, this was absolutely gorgeous! I am thoroughly impressed by your ingenuity and skill! Beautiful work my friend! Love watching these collaborations! Seth
Thank you Seth, Huw and I added the #PenChallenge so others could join, why not give it a go to. I will add your link to my the video if you want to give it a go. Keep well, Rob
Hi Kennet, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I hope you stick around to watch some of my other videos, I would be interested to hear what you think. I like your RUclips username btw. Keep well, Rob.

Hi Dennis, thank you very much. I enjoyed making the pen and my daughter wants to make a pen now too, so I bit the bullet and have bought a mandrel and an end mill. I hope you like my other videos too, I am particularly happy with the tree. Keep well, Rob
Wow, Rob! Absolutely loved the idea of the cuts in the blank for the resin. It gave it a very modern feel! I am gonna have to try that with some of mine!! Keep it up, my friend!!!
Hi Phillip, thank you for connecting and taking the time to comment, I appreciate your support. Let let me know what you think of my other projects if you have the time, I try to experiment with doing things differently. Keep well, Rob

Thank you Melvin, I don't think the mandrel is an original idea, I probably saw someone else do it, however I am glad that I thought to use it and could show it to you, so you could pass it on. Now, I haven't seen anyone else do the resin filled saw kerfs before :) Keep well, Rob
Nice pen Rob. I thought for a moment that no resin would be visible when you rounded the blank. But the effect is very beautiful. Not too much resin and a nice color with the wood and the pen kit. I like it 👍 Frank.
Thank you Frank. I was a little worried about using gold resin, but am very pleased with how it turned out. I think I might have to make a few more pens, it was fun. Keep well, Rob
@@RobBrandtWoodturning i had an abcess cut out of my back 6 weeks ago. Still healing and back gets very sore that i wake up, then ill go watch videos in the lounge till i feel i can lie down again.
I mostly turn bowls, I thought people might get bored with seeing bowl after bowl. I do have a piece of wood that I found and cannot identify it. I want to make a bowl out of it soon. Keep well, Rob
@@RobBrandtWoodturning Watching how woodturners are still turning the same bowls is really boring for me but Yours are having always different shapes and are from different types of wood and this is not boring. California Air Tools isn't it ? Oh, the Safety guide link is invalid - maybe try this www.woodturner.org/Woodturner/Resources/Safety-Materials/Safety-Guidebook-for-Woodturners.aspx
Hi Mike, thank you, I thought that gold would go with the walnut and the metal finish. I have updated the safety link, I will have to fix the other videos too, thanks for letting me know...I will have to check the links I use regularly. I got the California air tools pot as it is the only one with a reasonable price that is marketed as a resin casting pressure pot...also Harbor Freight was sold out of their paint pressure pots online and within 100 miles. I did feel a little ridiculous putting a tiny pen in that huge pot. Stay safe, Rob.
