Wow, I can't believe I watched that for a whole year. 😆. Beautiful bowl. Love the wood grain. It was worth the wait 👍. I subbed your channel. Looking forward to future projects. Thanks for sharing. Safe turning, Rc.
Hi Tommy, thanks for watching, and for the 1st comment :). I really enjoy turning cherry, which is good as I have a half a tree to process from last year. You are right, once the cherry dries it is really tough. Keep well, Rob
Wow, a whole year to turn a bowl! Now I don’t feel bad about taking a couple of weeks to do a bowl. 😁🤣 The bowl turned out beautiful - I’ve always liked cherry.
Thank you Carl, I have the sister piece from the opposite side of the trunk to that I still have to turn. Thanks for watching and commenting. Keep well, Rob
Thank you Ray. When I try to mix the salad, was going to say toss but that might give some the wrong impression, some always ends up on the table, so I made the bowl big :)
Hi Rob, That is just beautiful. As the saying goes "Good thing come to those who wait". I would definitely call a year waiting. Great video rob and stunning grain on the Cherry. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
Hello Rob: I have some cherry logs cut last summer. They have been covered outdoors (In Ontario, Canada) ever since. Do I still need to rough turn and then let it sit for a year before finishing it? Thank you for the video.
Hi Bill, i think that any bowls you turn will still warp as they dry further, it is difficult for the moisture deap inside the log to escape, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. I have another bowl that looks better, in a quirky natural way, less engineered, that moved as it finished drying and that was after rough turning it and leaving it on a shelf for a year. Supposedly it takes a year per inch to dry depending on the humidity. I hope that helps, keep well, Rob
Cherry bowl looks great 👍

Very nice bowl. That green cherry turns like butter, however dry turning it get a lot harder. You make both look easy, sweet video 👍

This is gorgeous Rob. I fear, however, that it will hold too many salad leaves and not enough cheeseburgers! Great turn. All the best. Ray
Thank you Ray. When I try to mix the salad, was going to say toss but that might give some the wrong impression, some always ends up on the table, so I made the bowl big :)

Nice one Rob! Did you mean to wear the same shirt one year later when finishing the bowl?
Hi Robert, no, it was pure co-incidence.....I mean yes, I planned it. Keep well, Rob
