  • This is the soundtrack of the original Atari Jaguar version of Tempest 2000, developed by Llamasoft and published by Atari Corporation in 1994. The music was composed by three people: Alastair Lindsay, Ian Howe and Kevin Saville, from Imagitec Design.
Note that this is NOT the CD soundtrack used in later versions of the game - the CD soundtrack remixes all of these tracks (except for one, which is only used in the Jaguar version). All of these original tracks are in .MOD Tracker format and are easily available in the Tempest 2000 source code package released in 2008.
The track order is based roughly on the roles of the music tracks in the game, with the unused tracks being placed in the order they are numbered. (The numbering of the original track filenames seems to be based on the alphabetical order of the track titles.) All tracks are played through once and fade out at the beginning of the next loop.
    Track list:
0:00 = TUNE13.MOD "wierd". No corresponding track on the CD soundtrack. Used as the title and options menu music in the original Jaguar game.
1:50 = TUNE4.MOD "tune4-rave". Corresponds to "Mind's Eye" on the CD soundtrack. Used as the first in-game music in the original Jaguar game.
4:36 = TUNE7.MOD "temp20". Corresponds to "Digital Terror" on the CD soundtrack. Used as the second in-game music in the original Jaguar game.
7:04 = TUNE5.MOD "temp16". Corresponds to "Constructive Demolition" on the CD soundtrack. Used as the third in-game music in the original Jaguar game.
9:44 = TUNE12.MOD "thrash5". Corresponds to "Ultra Yak" on the CD soundtrack. Used as the fourth in-game music in the original Jaguar game.
11:39 = TUNE1.MOD "tune1-bonus". Corresponds to "Glide Control" on the CD soundtrack. Used as the first and third bonus stage music in the original Jaguar game.
17:02 = TUNE3.MOD "reggadelia". Corresponds to "2000 Dub" on the CD soundtrack. Used as the second bonus stage music in the original Jaguar game.
20:20 = TUNE2.MOD "intro2". Corresponds to "Thermal Resolution" on the CD soundtrack. Unused in the original Jaguar game.
22:43 = TUNE6.MOD "temp18". Corresponds to "Tracking Depth" on the CD soundtrack. Unused in the original Jaguar game.
25:10 = TUNE8.MOD "temp21". Corresponds to "Future Tense" on the CD soundtrack. Unused in the original Jaguar game.
27:32 = TUNE9.MOD "temp22". Corresponds to "Ease Yourself" on the CD soundtrack. Unused in the original Jaguar game.
30:15 = TUNE10.MOD "temp6". Corresponds to "T2K" on the CD soundtrack. Unused in the original Jaguar game.
32:34 = TUNE11.MOD "tempest-rave3.". Corresponds to "Hyper Prism" on the CD soundtrack. Unused in the original Jaguar game.

Having listened to the full, post-produced version of Imagitec Design's work on the CD versions of the game, I can safely say that I'm also _really_ digging this stripped-down MOD-only version of this soundtrack. ^^

Constructive Demolition is just flat out *better* in this version. I also like T2k better with the additional "buzzing" instrument and don't understand why that voice was removed from the mastered version completely.

@@ElysaraCh Actually some of the tracks do in-fact sound better on Jaguar, but my only reason as to why they stripped out some samples is either because they couldn't find the original uncompressed ones or they didn't like them, something like the buzzer I did NOT like but some other tracks just sound much much better as I agree

@@turrican3839 I mostly just keep coming back to Constructive Demolition. WHY DID THEY LOWER ITS TEMPO, it sounds so much better with the higher tempo... it's the only track that got a tempo change like that...

@@ElysaraCh Digital Terror also has a bit of a tempo change, way better in this original Jaguar version.

Gotta love how 2000 Dub is like Reggadelia for about 1 minute and then just says "ah, funk it" and becomes a completely different song for like 6 extra minutes.

Odd how the Jaguar has an exclusive menu / title track and the MS-DOS port has 3-4 extra unnamed tracks

I wish Jeff Minter would release his back catalogue to android, I'd pay money to own them, and play them again.

It’s interesting how the composers transferred this soundtrack from an Amiga to the Atari Jaguar sound chip.

IKR, and it completely takes over the Atari Jaguar soundchip.

RUclips isn't the same anymore. Ever since 2014, The site has been stripped of its glory. Back then, RUclips was full of sparta remixes, funny cat vids, and a mass variety of freedom. Once they put Susan Wojcicki in charge of the site, it was set it stone.
Nothing works anymore, including the suggestions. While they were busy breaking YT, it created a domino effect, and they decided to bring corporate mainstream media and news to RUclips. They don't care, because they radically ruined RUclips where majority of viewers watch the garbage Fortnite gamers, and literally anything that's corporate or any channel that's verified, such as WatchMojo. While Google rakes in the profit, they keep changing the site, constantly breaking features that worked, without any care for the small channels.
Now that the ads are forced on all channels, regardless of if they're a RUclips Partner channel, the site is fucked.
If you managed to read this plethora of text, I hope this answered your question.
This game's soundtrack is absolutely brilliant, and its a shame the Jaguar didn't get its chance at glory...
It's truly a magnificent console, but just like RUclips, it was doomed due to corporate interests in Nintendo.
