All coming from a mother that would have denied her son a university education, told him the end was coming any time soon. Denied him a blood transfusion if needed and would have shunned him if he left the cult. Smart kid for getting out of the madness.

_"the end was coming any time soon"_
Because these are the lies she was told by WT when she was a child. Now she's telling her son the same lies. The abused eventually become the abuser. It's a vicious cycle.

My father used to give the public talk with this poem in it all through the 90s while I was a teenager. I heard this poem so many times. When I saw the title of this video, I wondered if this was the poem I hadn't heard in decades. You don't release videos often, but when you do, it's worth the wait. The last line always hit hard, especially the way my father delivered it. People used to always comment about it to him at the Hall after the meeting or during hospitality. I wonder if my father still gives that talk...🤔

"That you would serve the Brothers, go to Bethel, Gillead School - something special"
God isn't asking us to serve the Brothers/Watchtower, he wants us to serve each other.
A mother, more than anyone, should be encouraging her children to do what they do best and enjoy doing rather than expecting any particular work.
1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
She exposes herself by admitting the discipline and punishment she handed out.
Training, direction and guidance is proper discipline, not punishment
She checked the publications to get an understanding for his being un co-operative.
Obviously that didn't work for her and she even admits it.
It wasn't important for him to study, there was enough meetings for him to attend each week.
It wasn't important for him to witness in areas where his school mates were.
Kindness and consideration could have been shown in both these matters.
But oh no, she had to insist on things like this until he reached breaking point but he was to blame, not her.
He didn't become a different person, she never knew him to start with.
She chose to completely cut him off, with no support and wondered why he would never return.
The end of that Poem is the saddest of all,
She would rather have been in the Kingdom Hall,
Where she was taught not to have true affection
and in the future, she will grow to perfection
She feels no pain for the son she never knew
Whilst believing this religion is real and true
She my be in for a shock
To find he is one of the flock

I just watched your YT testimony from 4 years ago so wondered what has happened to you since that time. Here you are so glad to see you again. God bless you and wishing you well.
I am not a JW, but lost a friend to the organization 6 years ago. We are 80 years old now and have nothing in common. I miss her friendship. Can't wish her a happy birthday, Merry Christmas, etc. The JW's have taken over her life. I have watched many of the Ex-JW videos so I understand why her life jas changed.
I am a Christian so I do pray for her and still care for her. She became a JW when she retired, and her sister was her introduction to the JW org. She lives with her sister and is dependent on her since my friend no longer drives.

Thankfully upon leaving this organisation after 36 years I can see the difference between real love and false love. This organisation is absolutely awful they teach a conditional love that I now know that a real loving father or creator would have no part of! I was a very naive 20 year old when I started looking into the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses I have learned a very valuable lesson and so glad to be out living my life for myself and my family. If you believe in the God of the bible, you must know that he is called the God of the living, not of the dead. What that means is that Jehovah God will resurrect those that he deems fit for resurrection, that is, those that he remembers. Those that he deems incorrigible, Jehovah has sought of erased them from his memory. "Poof" like smoke as brother Morris puts it. Like when a teacher clears the chalk board with a duster. Why should a mother shed crocodile tears like you. Any who do not value their very lives, do not deserve to live. Do they?

It might be a good time to ask ourselves what we aspire to become.
    1. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that an undetectable supernatural realm exists that is inhabited by undetectable, all-powerful, immortal beings, some good and some evil, all of them privileged to know the veracity of all things knowable and unknowable?
    2. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know they are intimately familiar with a reality that is undetectable and unknowable, and have an intimate personal relationship with an undetectable good supernatural being that allows them to communicate telepathically with their master in the undetectable supernatural realm?
    3. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that while our superstitious ancient ancestors went about creating religious holy books, they did not do so while pretending to know things that are unknowable?
    4. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that an undetectable good supernatural being has bestowed upon them thousands of unknowable truths, including what it thinks and wants?
    5. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings are continuously monitoring and passing righteous judgment upon every human thought and deed?
    6. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have ordained them with the exclusive ethical moral authority, knowledge, and duty to advise me as to the truth of all unknowable knowledge that good supernatural beings supposedly want me to also pretend to know?
    7. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that we are all immortal supernatural beings temporarily trapped in a mortal flesh body?
    8. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable evil supernatural beings are manipulating my thinking to prevent me from pretending to know the unknowable knowledge that good supernatural beings want me to pretend to know?
    9. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that being tortured in a lake of fire for eternity is just retribution for failing to pretend to know the same unknowable things that they pretend they know?
    10. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have endowed them with the exclusive ethical moral authority, knowledge, and duty to recognize, challenge and condemn anyone who dares to spread a different version of unknowable knowledge?
    11. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have the exclusive ethical moral authority and duty to restrict the questions, facts, narratives, and realities, I may entertain?
    12. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings are responsible and deserve credit for every good thing that I experience in life?
    13. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have informed them that I am responsible for, and deserve blame for, every hardship I suffer in life?
    14. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have informed them that if I fail to dedicate myself to a life of servitude to undetectable good supernatural beings, it is only because I have willfully chosen a life of servitude to undetectable evil supernatural beings?
    15. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that it is their righteous duty to visit hate, discrimination, misfortune, hardship, oppression, suffering, and destruction upon those whom their undetectable good supernatural mentors disapprove of?
    16. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have delegated to them the exclusive ethical moral authority and duty to outlaw sex acts, preferences, and practices that do not conform to the undetectable supernatural realm’s sexual standards?
    17. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have delegated to them the exclusive ethical moral authority and duty to condemn your sexual thoughts, desires, and fantasies?
    18. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have delegated to them the exclusive ethical moral authority and duty to condemn masturbation?
    19. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have granted them the exclusive ethical moral authority and duty to restrict access to birth control?
    20. Should I allow myself to become one of those who pretend to know that undetectable good supernatural beings have delegated to them the exclusive ethical moral authority and duty to regulate which adults you may or may not associate with, cohabitate with, have sex with, love, and/or marry?

Going through a few of the comments here I see some who are castigated the fictional mother for hindering or misdirected her child. The mother was only doing her duty as any good parent should do. Equipping her child for everlasting life in a paradise earth. What is the point of gaining the whole world but ending up dead. Killed by the "success" of this world that is passing away. "If" I repeat "if" there really is a new earth in the offing, would it not be outright stupid to chase one scrumptious meal like Esau and forfeit the next 100 ordinary meals? @@CoffeeAddictEvan I totally agree with you on gambling. You cannot gamble with your life. As JWs, we value life. We do not gamble. If this life was all there is we would go out there and make the best of it. But we know there is more. Do you ever doubt that the summer will come and go and every 12 months we will be exactly where we are today? Why is that? An intelligent, all powerful creator set this process in motion. For what purpose? For his intelligent creation. Humans. The earth regenerates itself. It will never wear out. It is going to be our everlasting home. God proved that when he made the Israelites wear the same garment and sandals for 40 years in the wilderness. If He can do that to a pair of dead sandals, is he not capable of doing that to a living person? Do yourself a favor. Talk to the next JW you meet. Ask them how you can get to live forever. @@daviesngwenya9689 the thing is, it is a gamble. A gamble based on something that not only is fundamentally unprovable, it's worse: undisprovable.
If that's the best proof of your god, then that's worse conjecture.
First, we already know how the earth goes around the sun. Second, even if that were proof of a designer, you're still no closer to (a) proving God is that designer or (b) that your interpretation of God is correct.
Even if you presuppose both a creator and that the creator is Jehovah, what do the many flaws in his creation mean? What about the chaos and disorder, viruses and bacteria, or even the vagus nerve?
What about the many errors in the Bible?
Or the many wrong interpretations given by your leaders in New York?

Secondly, you must understand that interpretations belong to God. If any man makes a wrong interpretation or calculation you cannot criticisise God for that. There is absolutely no error in the Bible. Not one. The errors are in your lack of understanding.

@@daviesngwenya9689 why should I believe the Bible to be the infallible word of God? What evidence is there for that claim?
A lot of the imagery in the Bible only makes sense when you realise that the ancient Israelites believed the earth is flat. For example, Genesis chapter 1 talks about the firmament separating the waters above the earth from the waters below.
That's why the sky is blue, they believed, because the firmament holds back the celestial ocean.
The flood of Noah is described as the sky opening up, and allowing the ocean above to fall on the earth beneath.
The book of Job talks about God supporting the earth on pillars.
Israel was never captive to Babylon for 70 years.
Israel was destroyed in 586, and Babylon was captured by Persia in 539.
Tyre was destroyed by Alexander the Great, not Nebuchadnezzar (Ezekiel 26, although this prophecy is worded a little vaguely), and was eventually reinhabited (Ezekiel 28:19).
Pharoah defeated the invading Babylonians (Ezekiel 29:19), and was later conquered by the Persians instead.
We have archeological evidence that different languages existed long before the tower of Babel, if it even existed, and that humans have existed for much longer than 6000 years.
Matthew chapter 2 puts Jesus' birth sometime before 4 BCE, because Herod died in 4 BCE and Joseph and Mary were already in Egypt at that point, whereas Luke puts his birth in the year 6 CE. Luke 2:2 Quirinius became governor and issued the decree for a census in the year 6.
There are more, but I'll let you discover them yourself, if you wish.

If you don't appreciate life, you don't deserve the real life.(1Tim 6:19)
