Microsoft would block all software that isn't developed by Microsoft if it thought it would get away with it.

Yes Ray mate I reckon they have already picked up on this software and just how long they will leave it alone is anyone's guess.
So Microsoft should, these apps are nothing but trouble! Then people will blame Windows 11!
@@Nick41622 If Microsoft gave people the freedom to change the way the Start menu looks then there'd be no need for these apps in the first place.
The current versions of Windows need the feature that was in Windows XP and Windows 7. Under Themes there needs to be a Classic Windows look which resets the whole UI to a Win2K look and feel.
Finally a way to make notepad function properly in a dark mode. This works well on windows 10. Thanks Brian!

Wow, I didn't know what to expect when I saw this video title since I don't tend to like third party start menus and things but this literally is modding the default start menu which I definitely think is a great tool! So much so I'm considering using it. The very interesting thing about this video is that 5:08 is actually EXACTLY what I've thought Windows 11's start menu should have been ever since W11 released (and also what the future Windows 12's start menu should evolve to).

I don't like the Windows 11 start menu, I didn't like the Windows 10 start menu either. I'm using Open Shell on my Windows 11 22H2 for a Windows 7 start menu. However, anyone that likes the Windows start menu and can modify it, so much the better. I'm looking for a program that reverts the Windows 11 folder icons back to Windows 10 or Windows 7. Why Microsoft ruined something that worked very well is best left to a psychiatrist to explain.
Awesome Brian! But I have a question, what's the point when 24H2 will most likely remove it and block it? I am now totally confused.

So do you need to know all of the nomenclature of windows 11 "features" to configure each add-on with different coding such as styling? Seems like a lot of work of figuring out what and how to control all of these settings without combing through MS documentation as your just copying and pasting and got all the time-consuming stuff out of the way in the video.
Linux fans don't rush like Northwind push Brian to Linux. Be patient like the Sun just let him decide by his own will.
But it'd be nice if Brian remain neutral by do both OS tutorials, troubleshooting with that you'll become resourceful & more interesting than one OS side. Right now he made dualboot tutorial who knows we might see Brian make more linux survival advice & adaption content. I'm not a fan of OS wars I'd rather maintain status quo.
This is nice. You can style it with list of all apps on the side just like Start11 but Start11 is not free. The Start Menu that comes with Windows 11 doesn't have much customizable options

Hej Brian thanks for the video Wow i like what i see here nice software yes love what you can do with the Windows 11 start menu to have all apps and start menu together is very nice and, also remove the recommend section is so nice take care Brian and have a nice weekend.
Cool stuff Brian, as always. Unfortunately you can't rely on these features, as it only a matter of time that Uncle Willy will kill this eventually, like all the other previous UI enhancement softwares. 👍👍👍

Is it compatible with StartAllBack?
its a different app to StartAllBack
startallback replaces the start menu so this specific mod doesn't really do much of anything unless you still open the windows start menu rather than the startallback one with a keybind. windhawk still works regardless of startallback, though.

If Microsoft took this sort of thing seriously, same as Start11 etc, perhaps their customers would be happier. Just put the adverts in the Store, not in the general OS, where they would probably fit better. Sigh!

Yup .. Open Shell is much better .. set up and tuning is easier .. and combined with the explorer patcher and winaero tweaker you will get all the customization options you can only imagine .. you can change even fonts if you like

Microsoft did not like that so you are blocked from updates now.
This software removes windows ads, ... You can bet your soul ms will block it...
