It’s true that potters inspect the base of other pots. I’ve found myself doing this way too often and also at stores where I know they only have mass-production 😅 Could you maybe do a video in which you go through different types of pots and explain what things you keep in mind specifically for those and which ones for every form? A all-in-one-video feature comparison? I really love this shape. But if you fill it with water how does the rest go out of the top is bending inside?
I always enjoy your videos! You mentioned in this one that you sometimes trim porcelain when it's past leather hard, but can't with your regular clay. Do you have a method for softening clay that's gone past leather hard in order to trim it?
You can dunk your harder clay vessel for a few seconds and let it sit for 10 minutes, then try trimming again. If it's terribly dry, you can try dunking twice, wait a few moments till the outside coat is dry, then wrap it with plastic for 30-60 minutes
Really liked the extra shots in this one! The close-ups of the trimming on the tops and bases was nice too!
you make working with porcelain look like magic im still just trying to get even pulls on it all of your years of practice really show
Wow two years of videos! I love watching your work
Your work, filming editing, and concept all feel amazing and creative. I'm going to enjoy it's fun. I'll come often to watch videos!

I feel like you would make some badass oil paintings.
beautiful 👏
That upper rim looks so sharp... when you put the finger in to prevent the chips to fall into the vase it feels like it could easily cut it!
Tungsten carbide trimming tools cannot rust in water, but it can be damaged with acids and high alkaline.
Good to know! I have others that rust and presumed the same might happen to my fancier tools.
Thank you.
Good.

when you throw your angular vases with the more red color stoneware, what kind of clay body is it and how much grog do you prefer in your clay?
