Cada persona tiene su proceso diferente, no todos caminan antes de cumplir un año y sobre el lenguaje es algo más lento y mira que ella va a hablar dos idiomas. Yo pienso que si es mejor descansar y apoyar en lo que más puedas a tu familia y al sano desarrollo de tu hija. El trabajar es importante pero en ese año que vas a poder delegar funciones te darás cuenta que hiciste un buen trabajo con tus empleados. La salud mental es importante y el compartir con tu familia es algo de suma importancia. Sobre la guardería es importante que la bebé compartar con niños y niñas de su edad

As a psychology major, it is well known in the field that children exposed to 2 or more languages start to speak slower than others. But what they are slower on, they excel in others. Such as sensitivity, creativity, and flexible thinking (quicker to adapt to changing environments). She is unique because of the multiculturalism you are showing/teaching her. You are allowing her to embrace her German and Korean roots. She DEFINITELY does not exhibit austistic characteristics!! She has her own development trajectory because of her uprising; the roots you allow her to embrace and own! Only ignorant people don't understand that and will make awful comments on that. My parents thought I was mute because I didn’t start speaking until I was 2. The doctor explained it was because I was dyslexic and the exposure to too many languages was confusing my brain. My parents decided to focus on speaking one language at home while being exposed to the other language in school. I’m fine now and I talk a lot in both languages. 😂

As a speech therapist in the states, I am SO happy to hear that you have decided to seek treatment! You both are amazing parents and do not listen to any of the negative comments! That is interesting. Can you tell me why you have that age line in your country? Where are you from? In Germany I have learned something different. I work as a speech therapist an I have practiced with children younger than 3 years old a lot. I have a state certified exam and 10 years of experience and I have learned at state university. Maybe it depends on the country you live in, but I often see children which are very „old“, like 5 years, when starting therapy. And then there are only one or maybe two years left before they go to school and that causes a lot of stress. I have never thought, that I had a child to young for therapy. You have to know how to work with babies and toddlers but it‘s worth it. And most of the time the progress is much faster.

I think Roa is doing amazingly well. She's alert, understands both her mom and dad in two languages and she seem very happy. She seems like a normal average child but with different abilities because of the bilingualism she is learning. As for daycare, I think it would be a good idea but please expect it to be difficult at first. She probably will not like it in the beginning and it will not be easy for you two to see her go through it. But it is a process and you have to stick with it to see the end results. In the end she will like it and learn a lot from it.
People who watches some videos and imagined that they know all about a family is not worth upsetting for. Dont be upset Linda and Jun, you guys are Roa's parents and love her much more than any of us strangers here. Just enjoy the precious time of Roa's growing up, it will be over much faster than you wish. In a blink of eye she will be enrolling school, and then become a teenager. Record more of these precious moments of her now, for us these videos will be a 10min entertainment, for your family it will become something much much more precious.

Dear Kwon Family, I see a brilliance in Roa that is much deeper than speech. She is a thoughtful child and she learns very quickly. She catches onto how things work. She is not random in her actions, she has wonderful focus. Her eyes are bright, alert, and always noticing things around her. She is quiet, but that does not mean there is not anything going on in her mind. She thinks about everything you say and she responds in actions rather than words. She also has words, but chooses to use them sparingly. She will speak when she has something to say! It will be worth the wait!! I think that daycare/nursery school will benefit her as she will learn social skills that will benefit her all through life. You will notice the difference at home. And if you are blessed with a second child, Roa will be ready. She will be a role model for her baby sibling. I bet she will be the best helper, too! I am sorry to see Joon looking so sad. As a parent I completely understand your worry, my sons were born in the us and we are from Latin America so we speak Spanish. It’s true it takes them a little longer to speak both languages, every child develops differently. Roa is really smart, try not to compare Roas development to other kids because every child developers different. By the way my sons are 18 years old and 16 years old and they are fluent in Spanish and English. You are doing an awesome as parents. 😊

I want to encourage you that the doctor is correct. My best friend’s daughter is learning Spanish and English… I thought her speech was slow, but a year later she can speak 2 languages. Also, letting her experience maybe daycare once or twice a week to play with kids can help! Enjoy your rest!

Roa es una niña con un desarrollo normal y podría decir superior en otras áreas para su edad. Mi hija mayor sin ser bilingüe tardó en hablar así como el segundo de mis hijos, casi a los 36 meses pero los dos últimos hablaron antes de los 24 meses. Lo que si les aseguro que la guardería le hará mucho bien, interactuar con niños de su edad será genial. My son didn't speak until he was 3. Just keep talking to her and gently encourage her and keep socialising. You can sign her up for a speech therapist. Don't worry, she'll speak in no time. And probably won't stop once she does!
My 28 mo old grandson is speaking simple words like ROA. He is very observant and understands everything! Like crawling, walking and everything he is learning, he will speak in his own time. My daughter showed frustration at a very early age so my mother and I taught her sign language. Once my daughter comprehended, and began utilizing sign language….she was happier, until she was able to talk on her own. My point in mentioning this is every child develops differently. You are offering Roa such a wonderful start by providing two languages in the home, and she will talk in her own time. Please don’t doubt yourselves. You’re both wonderful parents! ❤
My daughter is 22 months. English and Cantonese are spoken at home. She is slower to speak as well but she understands both languages as she responds in action. Love your videos of Roa as she’s very similar to my daughter. Our girls are beautiful they will get there.

Вам действительно не стоит волноваться, мой сын поздно начал говорить, ему было почти три года, мы с мужем тоже ходили к врачам, занимались, сын ходил в детский сад, но в три года он заговорил очень хорошо, он словно взорвался и теперь всё время говорит и поёт песни😂иногда он говорит очень много, так, что от этого можно даже устать😂❤

저는 한일부부인데 일본에서 살고 있습니다. 저희아이도 어릴때 2세때까지 말을 거의 못했는데 어린이집을 보내고 나니 두달도 안되서 말문이 폭발적으로 트이더군요. 어린이집을 보내신건 대단히 잘하신결정이라 생각합니다. 어린이집에서 주로 일본어를 사용하니 집에서는 되도록 한국어로 말을 시키고 가르쳤는데 학교들어갈때쯤 한국어,일본어 둘다 그 또래아이만큼 할수있게 되었습니다. 걱정 별로 하시지 않아도 됩니다.

Hola les hablo desde Madrid ( España). Mi hijo hasta los dos años no dijo mamá y papá. Y aquí es obligatorio que los niños a los 3 años vayan al colegio, y mi hijo con los tres recién cumplidos hablaba lo justo pero en tres meses en el colegio, hablaba ya como.cualquier niño. Es un hombre (32 años ya) bastante callado , habla solo lo justo. Cada persona somos mundos diferentes, por tanto avanzamos de diferente manera y no por ello están enfermos o tienen ningún problema. Seguir adelante Roa es preciosa y pronto no dejará de hablar.. gracias. Un abrazo

You are doing an amazing job raising Roa. She's definitely loved by so many people. My son was slow to talk, but he was definitely LISTENING to everything and everyone. Once he started talking, he spoke exceptionally well, with very clear thoughts. As an only child, he grew up mostly around adults, so I had to make an effort to put him into preschool early to be with other children. We did a co-op preschool where I was in the class helping out part time. It was great for both of us and all these years later, we still have friends from that original class when he was one year old! He's now 19, studying to become a pilot, speaks well to everyone and looks people in the eye. He's courteous and kind, funny and quick witted. Like you said, all children develop differently. My daughter spoke late as well. We belong to different states in India but settled in the gulf. She speaks 2 our mother tongues a bit but most of her conversations are in english as that's what she uses with friends and in school. Most kids in our extended fam speak a min of 4 language. Don't worry she'll speak well. Just give it a bit time. Loads of love n luck.

My daughter is being raised with Turkish, English and eventually German as we live in Germany, she does speak quite well for a child with 2 languages she’s almost 2. but I started from the beginning with mind set that „ah she will probably speak much later than others and that’s okay“ as long as she was developing elsewhere like normal, I think roa looks like she’s developing beautifully from your videos, she’s very bright and can do some things my girl can’t, every child is individual and Roa is a credit to your guys hard work! Roa es de los niños más hermosos que he visto en mi vida . Soy madre y veo todo lo que se esfuerzan por darle lo mejor a la bebé. Soy de Colombia y hablo español así que mi familia también. Mi hermana fue a vivir a Francia cuando mi sobrino tenía 18 meses y cuando llegó la edad de hablar le pasó lo mismo que a Roa. Se tardó más tiempo pero una persona inteligente ve esto . La cultura coreana es demasiado exigente y por eso creo que sufren ese burnout. Esa enfermedad no existe en nuestros países aunque parecemos muchos de medios económicos vivimos felices pues lo que importa es quienes somos y no lo que tenemos. 제 조카는 그냥 평범한 한국 가정인데, 다른 아이들 보다 언어 발달이 늦는 거 같았어요.
근데 성장 검진 받으면 걱정과 달리 병원에선 다 정상이라고 했고, 어느 날 말문이 터지더니 지금은 아침에 눈떠서 잘 때까지 입을 쉬질 않습니다 ㅎㅎ
로아도 무엇보다 병원에서 다 정상이라고 했으니, 분명 한국어 독일어로 하루 종일 떠들날이 곧 올 거에요
As a psychology major, it is well known in the field that children exposed to 2 or more languages start to speak slower than others. But what they are slower on, they excel in others. Such as sensitivity, creativity, and flexible thinking (quicker to adapt to changing environments). She is unique because of the multiculturalism you are showing/teaching her. You are allowing her to embrace her German and Korean roots. She DEFINITELY does not exhibit austistic characteristics!! She has her own development trajectory because of her uprising; the roots you allow her to embrace and own! Only ignorant people don't understand that and will make awful comments on that. Their "criterion" does not apply to Roa! Because Roa is her own self!
She is growing beautifully because of you both. Please pay no mind to soulless comments. You guys are wonderful and caring parents! Take the time you need, we will be here when you come back.

The warning signs of autism are very specific in children. They are difficult to miss once you see them. But too many people are ignorant about these signs. Roa obviously doesn't exhibit any of these signs. She responds easily to both parents in both languages. She has normal reactions of a two year old. Here are some basic signs and symptoms of possible autism in children to look out for:
Avoids or does not keep eye contact
Does not respond to name by 9 months of age
Does not show facial expressions like happy, sad, angry, and surprised by 9 months of age
Does not play simple interactive games like pat-a-cake by 12 months of age
Uses few or no gestures by 12 months of age (for example, does not wave goodbye)
Does not share interests with others by 15 months of age (for example, shows you an object that they like)
Does not point to show you something interesting by 18 months of age
Does not notice when others are hurt or upset by 24 months of age
Does not notice other children and join them in play by 36 months of age
Does not pretend to be something else, like a teacher or superhero, during play by 48 months of age
Does not sing, dance, or act for you by 60 months of age
My parents thought I was mute because I didn’t start speaking until I was 2.
The doctor explained it was because I was dyslexic and the exposure to too many languages was confusing my brain.
My parents decided to focus on speaking one language at home while being exposed to the other language in school.
I’m fine now and I talk a lot in both languages. 😂

As a speech therapist in the states, I am SO happy to hear that you have decided to seek treatment! You both are amazing parents and do not listen to any of the negative comments! That is interesting. Can you tell me why you have that age line in your country? Where are you from? In Germany I have learned something different. I work as a speech therapist an I have practiced with children younger than 3 years old a lot. I have a state certified exam and 10 years of experience and I have learned at state university. Maybe it depends on the country you live in, but I often see children which are very „old“, like 5 years, when starting therapy. And then there are only one or maybe two years left before they go to school and that causes a lot of stress. I have never thought, that I had a child to young for therapy. You have to know how to work with babies and toddlers but it‘s worth it. And most of the time the progress is much faster.

I think Roa is doing amazingly well. She's alert, understands both her mom and dad in two languages and she seem very happy. She seems like a normal average child but with different abilities because of the bilingualism she is learning. As for daycare, I think it would be a good idea but please expect it to be difficult at first. She probably will not like it in the beginning and it will not be easy for you two to see her go through it. But it is a process and you have to stick with it to see the end results. In the end she will like it and learn a lot from it.

Dont be upset Linda and Jun, you guys are Roa's parents and love her much more than any of us strangers here. Just enjoy the precious time of Roa's growing up, it will be over much faster than you wish. In a blink of eye she will be enrolling school, and then become a teenager. I see a brilliance in Roa that is much deeper than speech. She is a thoughtful child and she learns very quickly. She catches onto how things work. She is not random in her actions, she has wonderful focus. Her eyes are bright, alert, and always noticing things around her. She is quiet, but that does not mean there is not anything going on in her mind. She thinks about everything you say and she responds in actions rather than words. She also has words, but chooses to use them sparingly. She will speak when she has something to say! It will be worth the wait!!
I think that daycare/nursery school will benefit her as she will learn social skills that will benefit her all through life. You will notice the difference at home. And if you are blessed with a second child, Roa will be ready. She will be a role model for her baby sibling. I bet she will be the best helper, too!
I am sorry to see Joon looking so sad. You are very talented, and a very caring father and husband. You and Linda are a very special couple with a supportive and loving relationship. You are both excellent parents and teachers to Roa. You deserve a break, so please do not feel guilty or apologize. The people who criticize are wrong. As a parent I completely understand your worry, my sons were born in the us and we are from Latin America so we speak Spanish. It’s true it takes them a little longer to speak both languages, every child develops differently. Roa is really smart, try not to compare Roas development to other kids because every child developers different. By the way my sons are 18 years old and 16 years old and they are fluent in Spanish and English. You are doing an awesome as parents. 😊

I want to encourage you that the doctor is correct. My best friend’s daughter is learning Spanish and English… I thought her speech was slow, but a year later she can speak 2 languages. Also, letting her experience maybe daycare once or twice a week to play with kids can help! Enjoy your rest!

Queridos Joon y Linda, les habla una mamá de Latam con cuatro hijos, primero, y como les dijo el pediatra, los niños bilingües tardan en hablar porque están procesando lenguajes diferentes. Roa es una niña con un desarrollo normal y podría decir superior en otras áreas para su edad. Mi hija mayor sin ser bilingüe tardó en hablar así como el segundo de mis hijos, casi a los 36 meses pero los dos últimos hablaron antes de los 24 meses. Lo que si les aseguro que la guardería le hará mucho bien, interactuar con niños de su edad será genial. My son didn't speak until he was 3. Just keep talking to her and gently encourage her and keep socialising. You can sign her up for a speech therapist. Don't worry, she'll speak in no time. And probably won't stop once she does!
My 28 mo old grandson is speaking simple words like ROA. He is very observant and understands everything! Like crawling, walking and everything he is learning, he will speak in his own time. Your daughter and my grandson are amongst many brilliant new children here and have great things to do. Speech is coming. I was the youngest of three, and my Grandmother was visiting one time when my brother and sister were particularly talkative. My daughter showed frustration at a very early age so my mother and I taught her sign language. Once my daughter comprehended, and began utilizing sign language….she was happier, until she was able to talk on her own. My point in mentioning this is every child develops differently. You are offering Roa such a wonderful start by providing two languages in the home, and she will talk in her own time. Please don’t doubt yourselves. You’re both wonderful parents! ❤

My daughter is 22 months. English and Cantonese are spoken at home. She is slower to speak as well but she understands both languages as she responds in action. Love your videos of Roa as she’s very similar to my daughter.

Je suis désolée que d' autres personnes ont été insultantes. Vous ne le méritez pas et Roa ne le mérite pas. On voit très bien que Roa est intelligente, elle comprend très bien ce que vous dîtes..Donc elle parlera plus tard, et nous qui avons hâte de l'entendre, nous devons patienter. Вам действительно не стоит волноваться, мой сын поздно начал говорить, ему было почти три года, мы с мужем тоже ходили к врачам, занимались, сын ходил в детский сад, но в три года он заговорил очень хорошо, он словно взорвался и теперь всё время говорит и поёт песни😂иногда он говорит очень много, так, что от этого можно даже устать😂❤

저는 한일부부인데 일본에서 살고 있습니다. 저희아이도 어릴때 2세때까지 말을 거의 못했는데 어린이집을 보내고 나니 두달도 안되서 말문이 폭발적으로 트이더군요. 어린이집을 보내신건 대단히 잘하신결정이라 생각합니다. 어린이집에서 주로 일본어를 사용하니 집에서는 되도록 한국어로 말을 시키고 가르쳤는데 학교들어갈때쯤 한국어,일본어 둘다 그 또래아이만큼 할수있게 되었습니다. 걱정 별로 하시지 않아도 됩니다.

Roa is a bright and happy child, it is visible in the videos you're sharing with us. Some children speak later than others even when only learn one language. I have no doubt whatsoever watching your videos since the beginning that there's nothing wrong with her. She interacts very well with people and her environment, engaging everyone with her beautiful smile and mischievous eyes. Меня родители любили точно так же, возможно даже слишком сильно, и да, такие дети отличаются от других детей, но не в негативном, а в позитивном смысле! Такие детки более размышляющие, рассудительные, спокойные и самое главное более здоровые!
Я сама была таким ребёнком, и я понимаю сколько негатива может посыпаться на родителей и на самого ребенка, в таком случае. Просто некоторые люди не понимают такой любви к ребёнку, а кто-то и вовсе завидует. В это не хочется верить, но к сожалению, это может быть правдой. Поэтому иной раз слушайте себя и свою интуицию. Материнская интуиция не подведёт, а с таким любящим и заботливым отцом у Роа крепкий тыл✊✊❤️

Hola les hablo desde Madrid ( España). Mi hijo hasta los dos años no dijo mamá y papá. Y aquí es obligatorio que los niños a los 3 años vayan al colegio, y mi hijo con los tres recién cumplidos hablaba lo justo pero en tres meses en el colegio, hablaba ya como.cualquier niño. Es un hombre (32 años ya) bastante callado , habla solo lo justo. Cada persona somos mundos diferentes, por tanto avanzamos de diferente manera y no por ello están enfermos o tienen ningún problema. Seguir adelante Roa es preciosa y pronto no dejará de hablar.. gracias. Un abrazo

You are doing an amazing job raising Roa. She's definitely loved by so many people. My son was slow to talk, but he was definitely LISTENING to everything and everyone. Once he started talking, he spoke exceptionally well, with very clear thoughts. As an only child, he grew up mostly around adults, so I had to make an effort to put him into preschool early to be with other children. We did a co-op preschool where I was in the class helping out part time. It was great for both of us and all these years later, we still have friends from that original class when he was one year old! He's now 19, studying to become a pilot, speaks well to everyone and looks people in the eye. He's courteous and kind, funny and quick witted. Like you said, all children develop differently. Maybe enjoy the quiet, now. Once she starts talking, I'm sure she'll have a lot to say!!! 😉😊 Give hugs to my little birthday buddy! Roa is absolutely precious. 💓

No hay que ponerles atención. Sigan así, que son unos padres amorosos y lo están haciendo muy bien. El rostro y la felicidad que se observa en Roa, lo demuestra. En mi país hay una frase que dice...las personas (los niños), maduran como las frutas...a su debido tiempo. No todas las frutas lo hacen al mismo tiempo. Roa hablará a su tiempo, al de ella, no al que dice la gente... Cuiden su salud. Lo más importante es que la bebé crezca con sus padres (papá y mamá) saludables. Feliz año sabático. Que lo disfruten en familia...Sean felices. Es lo importante.

My daughter spoke late as well. We belong to different states in India but settled in the gulf. She speaks 2 our mother tongues a bit but most of her conversations are in english as that's what she uses with friends and in school. Most kids in our extended fam speak a min of 4 language.
Don't worry she'll speak well. Just give it a bit time. Loads of love n luck.

Joon e Linda, não se preocupem com esses comentários infelizes. Eu sou mãe de 2 filhos que hoje estão com 19 e 23 anos, e por isso falo com propriedade, cada criança se desenvolve de um jeito diferente. Vocês são pais admiráveis!!!! E é nítido o quão feliz e amada a Roa é.
Fiquem em paz e vivam cada momento dessa fase, porque passa muito rápido.

You guys are doing your absolute best for Roa, don’t let others comments online dissuade you from your path or make you feel bad about your choices! My daughter is being raised with Turkish, English and eventually German as we live in Germany, she does speak quite well for a child with 2 languages she’s almost 2. but I started from the beginning with mind set that „ah she will probably speak much later than others and that’s okay“ as long as she was developing elsewhere like normal, I think roa looks like she’s developing beautifully from your videos, she’s very bright and can do some things my girl can’t, every child is individual and Roa is a credit to your guys hard work! Keep it up :)
혼자 사는 미혼 독신남 랜선삼촌 로아 찐팬입니다.
가족이 없다 보니 일 마치고 로아 같은 아기들 영상 보면서 즐거워하고 위로받고 힐링하는게 유일한 낙입니다.
예고편 제목 보고 로아 이제는 못보는 줄 알고 하늘이 무너지는것 같았는데 그게 아니라서 정말 다행입니다.
저도 걱정스런 맘에 로아 언어 관련 댓글 달았는데, 문제 없는 진단 결과와 부모님의 지극정성 육아 등..

Roa es de los niños más hermosos que he visto en mi vida . Soy madre y veo todo lo que se esfuerzan por darle lo mejor a la bebé. Soy de Colombia y hablo español así que mi familia también. Mi hermana fue a vivir a Francia cuando mi sobrino tenía 18 meses y cuando llegó la edad de hablar le pasó lo mismo que a Roa. Se tardó más tiempo pero una persona inteligente ve esto . La cultura coreana es demasiado exigente y por eso creo que sufren ese burnout. Esa enfermedad no existe en nuestros países aunque parecemos muchos de medios económicos vivimos felices pues lo que importa es quienes somos y no lo que tenemos.
Roa es espectacular y se le ve lo inteligente que es. Un abrazo desde América del Sur.
