Another cracking video well done great camera work as usual I am really enjoying your lovely videos and camera work keep your lovely camera work up I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on RUclips bye for now Philip
Great vid.Beautiful Tornado what a Machine and she looks absolutely fantastic. I miss steam on the Rails. I used to stand on Alexander Bridge in Weymouth, and get covered in steam, and s@#£&.We could hardly breathe for a while. Maybe a stupid thing to do,we could have had sparks,or bits of hot coal ejected. But boy, happy days.I think that most of them would have been Bullied Pacific’s. Together sometimes with a Banker to help on the gradient into Dorchester. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I was a young schoolboy at the time. And of course thinking that Steam would be around for years I lost interest. I regret that now as I was a camera enthusiast. Great Days.
The GCR is my favourite heritage railway. I drove both an 8F & the Robinson 04 there many years ago. Unforgettable! Tornado looks resplendent in her apple/Doncaster green livery, although perhaps she looked her best when wearing BR "Brunswick" green? Seems like she's almost ready to resume mainline service. I guess after your class 89 scoop at Brush it would have been rude not to pay the GCR a visit 😊
wowers tornado looks awesome in apple green I think she did carry green once before being painted in blue but seems you had a great day out at the GCR!!
BR-transitional apple green is Tornado's main livery as she has worn it since being built in 2009 apart from when she was temporarily in BR Lined Express Blue & BR Brunswick Green. I'm not a personal fan of her in apple green. Even though I don't like BR liveries on locomotives built pre-1948, I think the Peppercorn A1s looked better in Brunswick Green
Its not Apple Green, its LNER Doncaster Green, the LNER never termed it "Apple green",that's what train spotters pre 1948 called it because it resembled the green of an Apple.
Most likely not.. she will need to be ran in at the GCR which will take a few weeks.. From what I now, a heritage locomotive needs to have at least 1000 miles under her belt before she can be mainline registered but don’t quote me on that
Why does this loco have "British Railways" on its tender? It's an LNER design, and has absolutely nothing to do with BR, which had ceased to exist before it was built. Casual observers are now misinformed as to the engine's true heritage - surely the LNER deserves better?
I don’t really see your point here. The trust could have easily turned her out in Great Eastern blue if they wanted to. And anyways, the apple green mixed with gill sans text does give you a mix of both LNER and BR. So what if it’s an LNER design? The first A1’s were built in 1948, after BR had already been formed. The LNER had already been dead for over a year when 60162 was built, and they lived out most of their careers under BR, so one could argue that they had more to with BR then they ever did with the LNER. So saying that she has nothing to do with BR is just plainly incorrect.
The Peppercorn A1 class was designed under LNER, yes, but many were completed or built entirely after BR’s formation. Most of the class’ service life was under BR.
I think misinformation is only on your part. This great Loco has a well publicised history. From conception, through build, to birth and operation. All through a very accountable trust. They can paint it any colour they want. People flock to see it. It gives nothing but pleasure.
Bonjour, félicitations à vous tous pour tout ce travail de restauration et de maintenance, bonne continuation et à bientôt peut-être 😉🇫🇷
The Standard 2 MT is also gorgeous. What a workhorse and still going strong at 70+ years old. 🤩
Tornado is stunning!
My brother and I were lucky enough to sit in the drivers seat of Tornado when it was at West Somerset Railway back in 2010. Amazing machine
Wow! 😲
Can't wait to see her on the railtours once again! 🤩
78018, Standard 2 MT, when new at West Auckland Shed, my Father both Fired and Drove it and still has its 51F West Auckland Shed Plate.
Great video - thanks
My favourite locomotive is back!
Was at the front window here on the GCR when she did her first ever public run still in grey ,stunning loco' but prefer BR brunswick green lol
Roll on 21st September's rail tour. Booked on it.
Lucky chap. So jealous. Where will she be taking you?
@@stephendavies6949 she's doing Leicester to Carlisle over the settle to Carlisle
A lot to do before then - Fingers crossed for you 🤞🙏
Excellent video as always 👍
Gorgeous loco, can’t wait to see her! I am aware timings are private but do you know when she might be doing full line testing?

The Standard 2MT is in good nick.

That’s very true - A quick trip around the corner to GCR 😜

@@RaggyAl1971 yes but the name has become synonymous with the livery so it really doesn’t matter
@@RaggyAl1971 A similar debate also rages regarding "GWR Green"....
Is the railtour for tornado on the 31st still running
Most likely not.. she will need to be ran in at the GCR which will take a few weeks..

Not this month - Lots of testing and mileage accumulation to be completed first. 👍
@@terrier_productions Also due at the Nene Valley Railway for the August Bank Holiday plus driver experience days in early September.
@@HowardLeVert oh yeah, I forgot about that.. thanks
@@HowardLeVertNow that WOULD be one helluva driving experience!
Whats that spare engine from does anyone know?
NOT THE BEST PLACE TO STOP. CHIMNEY DIRECTLY UNDER THE BRIDGE. WOULD YOU HAVE TRIED PEEING OVER THE TOP AND GETTING A BIT INTO THE CHIMNEY.
Stop shouting ye plank

Ugh, not another one in apple green livery.
IF IT WAS BUILT AT THE SAME TIME AS ALL THE OTHERS IN THE CLASS WHAT COLOUR WOULD IT HAVE BEEN PAINTED
