One thing that spectators don't understand if they've never seen a professional peloton go by at close quarters is how unbelievably fast it is going. Even though it may appear on television that the group is cruising, they are going faster than you think. In almost every tour I've seen someone always gets caught out and takes out a rider because they completely miscalculate the speed of pro riders. These guys are different and they cruise at just amazing speeds. I remember being next to the road on a slight downhill section and seeing Peter Sagan riding Time Trial, I was at the curb and the speed he passed me was breathtaking. He was easily going 45mph and had I stuck my arm out to take a photo it could've been a problem.
I saw Sepp Kuss of Jumbo Vista go down twice, the first time because a fan had his arm out. The second time was on a sharp downhill left turn, and the rider in front went down. Sepp went flying what looked like 8-10 feet and got a big gash on his temple. I got hooked on watching last year & Wout became my favorite. I thought Peacock's coverage was excellent this year, and Sepp was most inspirational as a team rider.
The first time I sat in a peloton I was overwhelmed with joy and pride, and It brought me back to when I use to sprint varsity track..the enrgy and power is unbelievable..The pro riders are going as fast as cars within city limits..
We met several people from the Netherlands on this trip. Thank you for watching. Enjoy some of our other videos, subscribe and stay tuned for more to come.
Thanks for covering some things I didn't see on Peacock. They did a great job though, and I watched at least some of every stage live, getting up or staying up 'till 5 or 6 AM. There's nothing quite like the TDF and this year was particularly good.
I started watching the World Feed with Anthony McCrossan on Peacock instead of Phil and Bob on the U.S. feed because I thought the coverage was better.
Thank you very much! we're getting better and want it to be fun for you. Please enjoy some of the other videos, subscribe and stay tuned for more fun times.
Good for you that made it to see some of the Tour, just a dream for a lot of people, and you bring this bits to us in a very relaxed way. I hope you keep enjoying cycling and traveling for many years to come. Thanks for sharing.
yeah if you blink you'll miss it but if your into cycling its a truly amazing experience , suppose it like someone that into fishing telling you how good it is waiting for hours to catch a fish
I’ve been 3xs. The pre race parade is advertising mostly, then the police, the lead group(breakaway), then more police, media, then the peloton, then the team cars... then more media on motorcycles, then some advert vehicles, police... You can tell how far away the peloton is by where you spot the helicopters in the distance. They slowly get closer and you know it’s show time. What’s great about Paris finish is they lap so you get to watch it 8xs
Thanks a lot for this video. Very informative. My wife and I has been thinking doing the same stuff all these years and this video gave lots of tips. 2024 TDF can be great fun. But we will do it with e-bikes.
No because the traffic was crazy, and roads were going to be blocked. Thanks for watching and please subscribe for new videos. Volta, Portugal tomorrow.
Thank you for watching. Please see our other videos and subscribe for future releases. Hiking, kayaking, castle tours and other fun things in Portugal.
WOW! Your channel should be called Beauty Uncorked! What they don't tell you about the Tour de France is that you will find mature beautiful women in attendance. Certainly makes me want to go. Mr Rogers is one lucky man. Oh, and my granddaughter hijacked my account, waddayagonnado?
Just found you. Subscribed. You guys look awesome and love your acc 😊 Hope next year to be there also :) car is ready bikes are ready - now budget ongoing 😂
This couple is totally cute and their enthusiasm is fun to witness, but ... this is a total clickbait video title. **Spoiler alert** The only revelation relevant to the title is, "And here’s what they *don’t* tell you about the Tour de France: An awful lot of preparation and waiting goes into about 30 seconds of excitement."
Good point looks like out of 209 vehicles 207 cars were hybrid or all electric drives. Thanks for watching and we hope you'll enjoy some of our other videos.
This is so much fun! Thank you for preparing this
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching. Please check out some of our other videos and subscribe to see new videos.

I really liked the way the crowd applauded for the riders at the tail end of the pelotón - not just the front runners.
Yes, cycling is hard work, and they deserve it. Thank you for watching. stay tuned for more fun times.

8:30 in, and I haven't seen anything that "they didn't tell me about the Tour de France". Just a standard vacation travelogue. I give up.
It's there! Towards the end of the video. Thanks for watching. xoxo
They don't tell you that is "Le" tour de France ?
typo- thanks. xo
love the moment at 11-58 when whoever was filming decided maybe they should take a step back to avoid becoming the story.
Yes, they come by pretty quick! Thanks for watching and subscribing. Hope you'll enjoy some of our other videos.

This video was about 25 minutes too long
i could just not wait long until you started going into the actuall topic. so not watching again.
This is a great environmental disaster. All cars should be Ev. Then towns would be set up for them. Either we go that route or forget the environment
Too late. Your “should” are falling on deaf ears. Save your “should” for something you can do anything about.
